Zeus summoned Aphrodite to a quiet balcony overlooking the clouds of Olympus, far from listening ears.
She arrived in a whisper of perfume and light, her rose-gold gown flowing like liquid silk, her expression already composed, as if she knew why she had been called.
Zeus did not waste time.
"Aphrodite, you will get close to Sharky Valor."
Her lashes lowered for a heartbeat.
"You will charm him. Distract him. Learn his thoughts and intentions. I want to know whether he is merely searching for his child… or planning some other things."
Hearing the order, Aphrodite did not question? She did not protest. She did not even pretend surprise.
