Chapter 4 - Moments of Care

As Minnie began to feed him, Sebastian's gaze drifted to a photoframe on the wall, the photo was taken six years ago when Minnie was just nine years old.

He remembered that day clearly. That day was stuck in his mind. He could not forget it. He recalled that day and it was still very fresh in his memory the day was a memorable one.

Time really flies fast the man thought to himself time flies so fast.

Her voice brought him back, to the moment her words were really gentle and soothing. "Open your mouth, Sebastian."

Sebastian did what he was told. His eyes were fixed on hers..

She was taking care of him with much kindness and love.

Sebastian thought about how he appreciated this young woman who had grown up from that little girl.

She was being very gentle and loving when she took care of him. He felt grateful, for the way this young woman looked after him.

Sebastian finished his soup. Then he gave Minnie a smile. "Thanks, Minnie. " Sebastian said. His voice was really hoarse because he had a fever.

Her face lit up with a smile. "You do not need to thank me. " she said in a voice. "I just did what anyone would do for a friend, like you."

She looked at the clock. Her eyes got wide with surprise when she saw what time it was.

The clock really caught her attention.

The time is already 1 pm she said quietly to herself.

She pulled the thermometer out of the drawer and passed it to him. "Let's see what your temperature is..."

Her eyes were really charming. "Minnie, look..I am perfectly fine now. I think we should probably call it a day."

With a reluctant sigh, Sebastian took the thermometer. Minnie waited, arms crossed, before checking the display once it beeped.

She checked the display, on the thermometer to see what it said.

Her face relaxed into a smile because she was relieved to see that the temperature was just right.

The temperature was within the range and that made her feel better.

Elizabeth entered the room, her eyes scanned Sebastian's face, her gaze softening with love. "Minnie, lunch is ready. Let's go..."

"Auntie, he doesn't have a fever anymore."

"That's good to hear. Now, did you finish your soup, young man?" she inquired kindly.

Sebastian nodded his face still pale. "Yes, Mother, your Minnie made sure I finished it all."

"Okay then, Sebastian. You get some rest, I'll see you tomorrow then..." Minnie said softly, she stood up from the chair.

Her eyes lingered on him for a moment before she turned to leave.

She went downstairs to meet Elizabeth. Elizabeth was setting the table for the two of them.

"Sit here and let's have our lunch." Minnie went to the table and sat on a chair.

"How is your grandma doing?"

"She's doing great, Auntie. She's still telling stories of her old times and making us laugh with her jokes." Her face glowed with happiness as she thought about her grandma's lively spirit.

Elizabeths face lit up with a smile. smile.."That's wonderful news! I'm so happy she's still so lively and spirited. You should bring her along next time—I'd love to see her again and catch up."

"I'll ask her, Auntie. I'm sure she would love to come and visit you."

Lunch turned into a time of laughter and stories. The people were sharing stories like they were treasures.

Minnie's heart felt full. She felt at home with the Thompsons. They were so warm and nice to her. The Thompsons made Minnie feel like she was part of the family.

She felt grateful for this warm and loving atmosphere, feeling like she had found a second family with the Thompsons.
