POV: Luan
As soon as all the monsters were killed, I swung my sword, leaving a trail of blood on the ground. The monsters' blood was red, just like human blood. I let out a sigh and looked behind me.
I turned toward the wall and activated the skill "Detection LV3."
A new notification appeared.
[The skill "Detection" has leveled up to Level 4.]
The skill had leveled up, but I didn't notice much difference. I could tell that the magic was slightly stronger and denser than I had initially thought, nothing more.
*This isn't being produced by a monster,* I thought.
I approached the wall once again.
"If I keep punching this wall, it'll eventually give way," I said before throwing another punch at it.
An even louder explosion echoed through the area.
Then, the wall finally began to collapse.
A massive current of magic rushed toward me, making my body tremble.
I immediately teleported away.
The magic had a clear and pure color, something I wouldn't expect from a monster.
With dust filling the entire area, I couldn't see what was behind the wall. The dust slowly settled, revealing a massive corridor. It was wide enough for even a twenty-meter dragon to pass through.
I couldn't see the end of it.
Or rather, the end of the tunnel.
"Dragon, do you know what this is?" I asked.
[No, I don't.] the dragon replied.
I slowly approached the entrance of the tunnel.
The dense magic seemed to be trying to keep me away, like a current of air pushing me back. However, as time passed, the amount of magic gradually decreased.
"Was all that magic trapped inside this tunnel?"
Now all that magic had spread throughout the dungeon.
I hope that doesn't bring any consequences.
Feeling somewhat calmer and more at ease, I finally stepped into the tunnel.
"It's definitely very long. I can't see the end because it's too dark."
I created a fireball and sent it flying straight ahead.
It was a powerful fireball that illuminated the tunnel very well.
The fireball traveled several meters before colliding with something in the distance and disappearing.
"At least now I know it has an end. We're only on the 41st floor. There's no way there's something here that could threaten me, right?"
Just look at how I dealt with all those monsters.
It was incredibly easy.
Besides, it doesn't make sense for there to be a boss on the 41st floor.
Theoretically, in any game, there's usually a boss on the 10th, 20th, 30th floor, and so on. Some games have bosses every five floors, but those are rare.

I walked slowly through the tunnel, paying close attention to my surroundings.
I created a flame to illuminate the area around me.
After walking for several minutes, I finally reached the end of the tunnel.
Just as I expected.
"That's a door."
The door was enormous and covered with strange patterns. They were symbols I had never seen before, symbols that certainly weren't part of the original story and that I had never seen anywhere in my previous world.

Something that doesn't belong in the world of Danmachi had appeared.
And honestly, that bothers me.
I don't want a "new story" to start being written.
I want to keep living in this world the way it has always been.
Having to deal with things that shouldn't exist is a real pain.
*Tsk.*
I clicked my tongue.
One thing is having different monsters for me to kill.
But new characters and something that could affect this world in an irreversible way?
No, thank you.

"I'm wondering whether I should go inside. If I do, there may be no turning back."

"I wonder if I can teleport to the other side of the door without opening it."
I tried.
It didn't work.
So I started thinking.

And after nearly ten minutes, I finally made a decision.
[Finally. I was already tired of waiting. Just open the door already!]
"Alright, calm down."
I approached the door again.
There was a huge "handle" to pull. In reality, it was a thick metal ring. Despite the door's enormous size, the ring was positioned at a height that allowed me to pull it comfortably.
They were waiting for me.
Then I slowly opened the door.
It creaked as it gradually swung open.
I kept my Detection skill active, but no magic emerged from within.
*There's really nothing there?*
I looked inside the room.
It wasn't dark as I had expected.
Several torches mounted on the walls illuminated the area.
At the center of the room, there wasn't a boss.
Instead, there was an extremely eye-catching treasure chest.
[A trap.]
The dragon said.
"Are you sure?"
[Yes, I'm sure. Don't open the chest. Attack it.]
What does he mean by that?
Is the chest a monster?
"But I can't sense any magical power coming from that thing."
[I can sense it, but it's a weak presence. Besides, it's an evil presence.]
