Jiang Zhenpeng had his eyes on Qiu Tu from the very beginning. Sending Tao Yaoyao over to Qiu Tu was really just a way to deepen and conceal their cooperation.
Qiu Tu could see right through this, and Jiang Zhenpeng believed he would. It was a tacit understanding between two smart men. So Jiang Zhenpeng wasn't worried about Tao Yaoyao denying it—as long as Qiu Tu acknowledged, that was enough.
So... this afternoon's rumor is even easier to explain: odds are, it was Jiang Zhenpeng intentionally leaking info to the outside.
The purpose? First, to ensure Tao Yaoyao can't turn back, and must walk this path to the end. Second... to make outsiders believe he and Qiu Tu have deep-seated conflicts, thereby lulling their shared opponents.
If anyone truly believes the rumor and comes to him to deal with Qiu Tu—or approaches Qiu Tu to deal with him—they'll immediately fall into the trap...
'This old fox… really is something else.'
Thinking this, Qiu Tu shook his head slightly.
