As Ma Seok-do and Jack swaggered into the private lounge and shut the door behind them, the rich brat in a silk floral shirt stared at them with a dazed, goofy grin.
"Huh? Who are these guys? New security hires?"
"Hey, you two! This isn't a place you can just walk into! Get out, get out—now!"
The drug dealer downed his spiked beer in one gulp and started shouting.
"This doesn't concern you." Seok-do ignored him, walked over, pulled out his phone, and tossed a small evidence bag onto the table, which was covered in little pills.
"You. Bag these up."
Jack, meanwhile, positioned himself by the window at the back of the lounge, subtly blocking the way to the bathroom exit—only to realize he had overestimated these guys.
None of them even reacted properly.
Seok-do began snapping photos, shoving his phone in their faces.
"Look here."
One of the half-dressed girls instinctively flashed a heart sign at the camera—then immediately covered her face in panic.
"Ah! What are you doing?"
Good instincts—she knew to cover her face, not her chest or anywhere else.
"Nice figure. Good photo quality." Seok-do complimented flatly, then turned the camera to the brat obediently bagging the pills.
The drug dealer, still a bit more sober, looked at the rich brat in confusion.
"Why are you listening to him? Who is he?"
"Yeah… why am I listening to him?" The brat stopped what he was doing, looking at Seok-do in dumb bewilderment.
"Hey! Shut up and look here." Seok-do snapped another two photos.
The drug dealer finally snapped, his face contorting in rage.
"Hey, asshole, you can't just—"
But before he could finish, Seok-do grabbed his ear and twisted.
"OW! OW! LET GO, YOU—"
The rich brat finally realized what was happening.
With an angry growl, he snatched a beer bottle from the table and swung it at Seok-do's head.
SMACK!
A devastating backhand slap sent the brat crashing onto the sofa, knocking him out instantly.
The other young guy, just about to grab a bottle, froze, eyes widening.
He slowly looked up and met Seok-do's brutal glare.
"Uhh…" The guy forced a nervous smile—then immediately squatted down, hugging his head.
"AHH! AHH! AHH!"
The two girls, now fully awake, started screaming—and for some reason, they ran behind Jack, as if he was their savior.
Jack, exasperated, picked up their discarded dresses from the floor and tossed them back to them.
—
Outside, the door suddenly burst open.
The huge bouncer from before—now with a bloody nose—stormed in, dragging along another hulking brute who was only slightly smaller.
"So this is where you two bastards were hiding!"
Pointing straight at them, he swung his fist, roaring as he charged at Seok-do.
However—
Before his punch even got halfway, Seok-do's right hook launched first—slamming into the exact same spot as before.
THUD!
The giant bouncer crumpled like a felled tree, hitting the floor with a heavy crash.
The two girls behind Jack shrieked again.
"Put on your clothes first." Jack brushed them off and stepped forward beside Seok-do.
Seok-do didn't even glance at the second bouncer.
"You take care of him." He then grabbed the drug dealer's ankle and dragged him forward.
The remaining bouncer hesitated.
He looked at Seok-do's massive frame, then at Jack, who was smiling at him.
After half a second of deliberation, he made a choice—and lunged at Jack instead.
WHAM!
CRACK!
Their fists clashed—but the bouncer's knuckles twisted like a broken chicken claw.
Clutching his mangled hand, he howled in pain—only to have his forehead violently collide with Jack's knee.
His body stiffened, and he collapsed in silence.
Jack shook out his wrist like nothing happened.
—
"AHHHH! I'M SORRY! DON'T HIT ME! I'M SORRY!"
The drug dealer, dangling in Seok-do's grip, had completely lost his mind in terror.
"Where's your boss?"
—
A few minutes later, another VIP lounge door swung open, blasting out "Gangnam Style" at ear-splitting volume.
Jack made a polite gesture, letting Seok-do enter first.
Soon, a furious nightclub owner, dragged out by the collar, was shouting profanities.
Then—
A full squad of police officers stormed in, clearing out the club, slapping handcuffs on the suspects one by one.
—
A sleazy-looking middle-aged man, still wearing a suit and tie, was barking orders at the officers.
Seeing Seok-do, his expression immediately brightened.
"Seok-do! Excellent work! We hit the jackpot this time!"
Then his eyes landed on Jack, and he froze in shock.
"Huh? Who's this?!"
"Jack. My friend." Seok-do threw an arm around his shoulders and shoved him outside, barely introducing him.
Jack extended a hand.
"FBI Supervisory Special Agent Jack Tavolar."
"Wait—FBI?!"
Another familiar reaction.
Jack sighed and nodded.
"Yes. From America."
"ASIBA! Young, talented, and handsome too!" The police captain, Jang Tae-soo, shook Jack's hand enthusiastically, his face full of admiration.
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
Jack, sensing the inappropriate energy, nodded firmly.
"Yes. And—uhh—very in love. Thanks."
"Ahh, what a shame!" Tae-soo sighed dramatically before motioning to the club.
"So—was the killer inside?"
Seok-do patted his shoulder.
"Not that fast. The case is just getting started."
Tae-soo nodded and grinned.
"Keep it up, Seok-do! Catch all those bastards and get a promotion!"
He even did a fist-pump for encouragement.
Jack shook his head, watching the comedic exchange.
No wonder Seok-do had it so tough—his colleagues were all clowns.
Sighing, Jack followed him into the police car.
