Learning from previous failures, Team Rocket had made special preparations this time, since this wasn't their first attempt at attacking the Cerulean Gym.
"What... what should I do?!"
Misty was caught in the whirlpool and couldn't control her body's movement. She watched the Pokemon being pulled along by the swirling water with pained expressions and felt deeply anxious.
Ash gripped the coral reef and observed the scene before him with a determined look in his eyes. Being underwater was really inconvenient for battling. Biting down on his oxygen mask, Ash held onto the coral with one hand while secretly reaching for a Poke Ball with the other.
"Scizor! Metal Claw!"
Ash threw Scizor's distinctive green Poke Ball. In a flash of light, a red figure emerged. Sensing the surrounding situation, Scizor immediately held its breath and prepared for action.
THUD!
Scizor landed heavily on the sand at the bottom of the pool, its substantial weight creating an impact sound. Because of Scizor's heavy body composition, it naturally sank to the bottom.
Although the whirlpool's power was tremendously strong, it was unable to budge Scizor's solid frame. Following Ash's command, Scizor rushed directly in the direction Ash had indicated.
Scizor propelled its body forward, a metallic luster immediately appeared on its pincers, and it charged toward one of the glass walls on the side.
CRASH!
Under the impact of tremendous force, the glass wall shattered instantly. The broken barrier couldn't withstand the water pressure from the pool's contents. With a thunderous crack, the water pressure blew a massive hole directly through the wall.
Water from the swimming pool gushed out immediately through the opening. The auditorium was positioned at an excellent height, so there was no concern about flooding. The escaping water would be drained through the outlets beneath the pool system.
As the water level in the swimming pool dropped and gradually fell below the height of the robotic arm's propeller, the whirlpool began to calm down progressively.
"What?!" Jessie and James stared at this scene in disbelief.
The water level continued to decrease, and the depth of the remaining water in the pool became less than two meters. When it reached the opening created by Scizor, it stopped flowing out. Ash and Scizor immediately climbed onto the coral reef structures.
The Water-type Pokemon from the gym were swimming in the remaining shallow water below, while Pikachu and Squirtle jumped to safety and stood on the artificial coral reef platforms.
"Is that Scizor?" Misty looked at the impressive figure beside Ash with surprise, since neither she nor Brock had ever seen the evolved form of Scyther before.
"Damn it! We should at least catch Pikachu! Go, Lickitung!" Jessie threw her Poke Ball, and it fell from the air above.
SPLASH!
But when Jessie's Poke Ball descended, a figure leaped out of the shallow water below. The white figure jumped out of the water like a fish performing a magnificent leap.
SMACK!
Swinging its tail like a baseball bat, it knocked Jessie's Poke Ball right back toward her. When the returned Poke Ball opened with a pop, Lickitung emerged.
However, at this moment, it was flying back toward Jessie and James. The two Team Rocket members were immediately startled.
"Don't come this way!"
The pair hugged each other in terror, then were directly struck by Lickitung, sending them flying upward. Lickitung crashed back into the hanging basket, and Meowth was pressed flat underneath.
"Seel?!" Misty looked at this scene with amazement.
Seel belonged to one of her sisters, but it had never been used in battle before. She had no idea it was so powerful.
SPLASH!
At that moment, as Seel fell from the sky, a brilliant light began to shine, enveloping it in white radiance. Seel's body continued to grow larger within the luminous aura.
It soon landed in the water, but its light-wrapped form immediately jumped back out. The moment the glow faded, a white figure appeared before everyone.
Its skin appeared crystal clear when dampened with water. Like Seel, it had a sharp horn on its head and two downward-facing tusks on either side of its mouth, with enlarged eyes. The appendages on both sides of its body had transformed into fin-like structures.
It possessed a long tail with a fan-shaped end. This was Dewgong, Seel's evolved form.
"Seel evolved into Dewgong?!" Misty was astonished when she witnessed this transformation. Seel, who had never battled before, had actually evolved!
"It's trying to protect its friends in the gym! Misty, use Dewgong to battle!" Ash looked at both Dewgong and Misty encouragingly.
Listening to Ash's words, Misty was momentarily stunned, then looked at Dewgong uncertainly.
"Can I really do this?" Misty felt hesitant. Dewgong hadn't been caught by her, and it had just evolved. Did she have the right to command it in battle?
"How will you know unless you try? Aren't you the mermaid princess?" Ash encouraged her.
At this moment, Dewgong also looked at Misty and nodded in agreement. With Ash's encouragement and Dewgong's recognition, Misty's expression became determined.
"Alright! In that case, I'm going for it! Dewgong, use Ice Beam!"
"Dewgong!"
After hearing the command, Dewgong let out a powerful cry. The sharp horn on its head instantly condensed a cyan energy orb, and then the energy sphere split into several cyan beams of light that blasted directly toward the hot air balloon above.
The freezing rays struck the basket of the hot air balloon, and the ice energy immediately froze the entire gondola solid. Before Team Rocket had time to react, they were trapped directly within the ice.
"Excellent work, Dewgong!" Misty was thrilled to see this success. Dewgong had truly listened to her instructions.
"Now for the finishing move! Pikachu, Electro Ball!"
Seeing this opportunity, Ash spoke up immediately. Ice could conduct electricity perfectly. Ash pointed upward and gave his command.
"Pika pika... Chu!"
Pikachu leaped into the air, lightning energy condensing on its tail. The golden Electro Ball shone brilliantly as it suddenly hurled the electric orb toward the frozen targets.
CRACK! BOOM!
The Electro Ball struck the frozen gondola, and electrical energy exploded outward. Under the force of the explosion, the ice shattered completely, and the blast sent Team Rocket flying away, launching them out through the gap in the damaged ceiling.
"We're blasting off again!"
"And so, the prince helped the mermaid princess defeat the villains and successfully protected the safety of the underwater kingdom!" Whether by coincidence or design, the recorded narration reached its perfect conclusion.
"Wow!"
CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP!
Thunderous cheers and applause suddenly erupted throughout the venue. Misty was startled and looked around at the enthusiastic audience.
