Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 Silly little accidents

POV: Issei Hyoudou

I woke with a jolt. I would've shot up into a sitting position, but my body ached too much for that. As I felt my heart begin to calm down, I looked at the windows and noticed the sun still hadn't risen yet.

The memories of last night slowly came back into my sleep-riddled mind.

After Inko came home, she started cooking dinner while asking about Izuku's and my day. I, of course, offered to help—which she refused at first—but after a while, she finally gave in. After a nice dinner, I cleaned up and watched some hero news with Izuku. Which didn't last long since we were both exhausted from the day, so we decided to call it quits early and head to bed.

However, just before I got to lie down on the couch, Inko came into the living room with an air mattress. It was a twin XL, which meant it was on the smaller side, but I wasn't gonna complain—especially after she went through the trouble of buying it for me after work.

I'd never slept on an air mattress before, so I had no idea what to expect. But going by the fact I don't even remember falling asleep, I can safely say it was a ten-out-of-ten experience.

With it still being dark outside and my body feeling like I'd been run over, I didn't really feel like getting up just yet. So I rested my head back on the air mattress and closed my eyes.

But it seemed like I didn't even have a choice in the matter, because as soon as I did, I felt someone lightly shaking my shoulder. I was still groggy and sore, so I brushed the hand away and turned my aching body to the side.

Whoever it was clearly didn't take the hint, because I felt the shaking start again a few seconds later. Not in the mood for this little game of back-and-forth, I turned my body back around to face them—only to be greeted by Izuku crouching over me, trying (and failing) to whisper something.

But since I'd just woken up, it sounded like complete gibberish.

"Good morning, Izuku." I greeted him before turning back over, hoping to get at least five more minutes.

Izuku clearly didn't like the idea and showed his disapproval by shaking me harder.

"Come on, Issei, we promised All Might we'd meet him back at the beach around the same time," Izuku whispered above me. "If we wait any longer, we're gonna be late for training."

"No, Izuku—you promised to come back. As far as I'm concerned, All Might should be lucky I don't sue his ass for that torture he calls training," I mumbled into the fabric of the air mattress. "I don't know how you're moving around so freely—my body is aching all over."To prove my point, I tried bending my arm in front of him, only to get a twitching limb in return as the muscle protested.

"My muscles hurt a lot, too, but I'm sure All Might has this all planned out. And besides, maybe this is another form of training."Izuku stopped tugging on my arm and struck a thoughtful pose. "The ability to push even further, even when your body is on the brink of collapse… to show what it truly means to be a hero! AHAHAH!"

He shifted from thoughtful to cartoonish, laughing with dramatic twitches in his arms and legs. For some reason, whenever he laughs like that, his face weirdly resembles All Might's.

"All right, I'm getting up."I let out a long sigh before forcing my aching body to rise from the soft paradise that was the air-inflated mattress.

We managed to speed through breakfast and rush out the door in record time. The walk to the beach wasn't so bad. With the streets empty, it almost felt like Izuku and I had the entire city to ourselves. Add the early morning sun just beginning to rise over the horizon, and the moment was almost perfect.

The downside to all this? Waking up at the ass crack of dawn with a body that felt like it had been run over by a bus.Other than that? Picture-perfect views.

When we arrived at the beach, All Might was already there, standing beside his red pickup truck and sipping his morning brew. The only new detail was a small navy blue duffel bag slung over his back.

He was in his skinny form—probably to avoid drawing attention. I thought he and Izuku were being overly paranoid, but since it didn't affect me, I didn't really care.

"Good morning, you two. Glad to see you're still standing after yesterday's training. For a second, I was worried you wouldn't come back."Once we were in earshot, All Might waved us over."All right, you two—ready for another day of intensive training?" he asked, tossing his now-empty coffee cup into a nearby trash can.

"Yes!"

"No."

Two very different responses—though you only needed one glance at our faces to figure out who said what.

"Great to hear!"

Apparently, All Might decided to ignore my comment entirely and steamroll ahead like we were both on board.

"Before we begin, make sure to get some quick stretches in. Wouldn't want to tear something now, would we?"

He demonstrated a couple of stretches, which we copied. We spent about five minutes loosening up. Which, looking back on it now, probably should've been part of the routine yesterday.

"All right, now that warm-ups are done, let's get started. Expect you, young Hyoudou, you're gonna be staying back with me for a few minutes, while young Midoriya focuses on training his body."

Izuku and I exchanged looks before he went to start clearing the trash, leaving me just standing there with All Might.

"Did I do something wrong, All Might?" Usually, when teachers ask a student to hang back from the rest of the class, it means that they are about to receive a stern talking to. All Might, probably seeing the concern on my face, quickly calmed my worries.

"Don't worry, Young Hyoudou, you're not in trouble. I just made you stay back so you and I can begin training your Quirk. Once I get a baseline of what you can do, I will work from there and form a training plan designed with you in mind."

Oh, that's cool, a training plan designed for me makes this whole hero training feel more official in a way. There's just one downside to that plan

"All Might"

"Yes, young Hyoudou?"

All Might answered while writing something down on a clipboard he pulled from his duffel bag. If I had to guess, he was probably going to take down notes of my quirk.

"How exactly do I activate my quirk?"

All Might's pen halted mid-motion. His neck moved upwards like an old wooden door creaking open. Once our eyes met, we stood in silence.

We stayed like that for a few seconds. I was just standing there, confused, and All Might began giving me a weird look. I saw his eye widen in realization before he started fiddling with something in his pockets, and he took out the piece of paper with my information. He started reading over it for a few seconds before his eyes locked onto a portion of the paper, and before letting out a sigh.

"It seems I have to apologize once again, Young Hyoudou. I wasn't aware that you awakened your quirk the day of the sludge incident. If I had known that you were a late bloomer, I wouldn't have sprung this on you out of nowhere."

He scratched the back of his head before letting out another sigh and turning to me."Welp, nothing we can do about it now, might as well make the most of it and move on. Since you aren't familiar with your quirk, we might as well start at the basics."

We walked over to a section of the beach that wasn't as densely packed with trash." The first step to mastering your quirk is to first figure out how to activate it on command." All Might gestured for me to stand on the sand.

"Since I haven't noticed any change in your overall appearance, it's safe to say that you don't have a mutant-type quirk. That leaves only Emitter and transformation-type abilities that you could possess."

"What's the difference?"

"Well, transformation-type quirks allow the user to temporarily alter their body. In comparison, emitter-type quirks allow users to generate and control substances. Or if they wished to, alter existing things." All Might listed off basic information about the two types of quirks.

"A well-known hero with an emitter Quirk has to be the number two hero, Endeavor. His quirk, HellFlame, is one of the strongest flame quirks around." Waving his hand to cut him self off.

"But that's besides the point. Today, we need to focus on you and your quirk. Once you're able to summon it with ease, the official training can begin."

"Now, luckily for us, you've already manifested it once before. So it's simply a matter of retracing your steps and just doing it again."

"Most people find it easy if they imagine their quirk like a muscle; the more you use it and pressure it, the stronger it becomes." All Might flexed his bony arms." So try imagining yourself flexing that muscle, and your quirk should activate, no problem."

This already sounded complicated; my imagination was limited to what girls would look like without a shirt, and what it would be like to punch that blonde-haired, pretty boy. Anything else, and I get confused.

"Or if that option doesn't help, you could think about turning it on and off. Kinda like a light switch, if you will"

"Why didn't you just explain the light switch method first? That one sounds way easier." I questioned the necessity of explaining two different methods. All Might didn't take kindly to the questioning.

"Because explaining it that way makes it sound less cool. Now quit worrying about technical stuff and just activate your quirk." All Might began rushing me to start training.

"Ok, geez, no need to get butt hurt about it," I mumble under my breath.

I spent a couple of minutes trying and failing to imagine myself flexing a muscle. Every time I got close, my mind would always wander to boobs, and I would have to start over from scratch. Eventually, I gave up and tried mentally turning my "Quirk" on.

And just as quickly as the thought formed, the metallic glove formed on my arm in a bright green glow. It was strange seeing my "Quirk" in the flesh; it was one thing seeing it from the corner of my eye or looking at it from a phone screen. But now with nothing else stealing my attention away, I couldn't tear my gaze away from it.

The glove was a deep crimson red, with two yellow spikes on either side. Slap dab in the middle was an emerald orb that was encased in the glove. I could faintly see yellow sparks dancing around inside the orb.

Every young boy dreams of having superpowers and beating up bad guys in the name of justice. I was no exception, but while most boys were dreaming about looking cool, I was picturing all the hot ladies that I would've been getting.

But at the core, the fantasy remained the same. So while I may be a seventeen-year-old boy about to step into adulthood, I allowed my inner child to run wild. And by that, I mean I was doing random superhero poses while turning my "Quirk" on and off for dramatic effect.

I would've stayed like that for who knows how long, but my trance was interrupted by the sound of All Might's voice. Quickly reminding me that I'm not alone.

"Listen, kid, I understand that trying out your quirk for the first time can be exciting, but please remember that you're here to tra..." All Might tried to keep a serious face, but he couldn't even finish his sentence before he turned his face away and started snickering behind his hand.

It took a few seconds for All Might to calm down from his little fit of giggles, which just left me standing there, embarrassed, until he finally calmed down.

" Haha, sorry, Young Hyoudou. I suddenly remembered a funny incident with a villain I had yesterday. Anyway, where was I?"

Despite his terrible excuse, once All Might calmed down, he quickly shifted to a more serious tone.

"Ah, yes, Outstanding work, young Hyoudou! For a moment there, I thought you weren't going to be able to pull it off. But thankfully, you managed to prove me wrong and go Plus Ultra!"

All Might, buffed form, popped out a cloud of smoke while giving two big thumbs up before quickly shrinking back."But I am curious about how you achieved it. Did my advice about visualizing yourself flexing that quirk muscle do the trick?"

I was tempted to just say no out of spite, but I stopped myself mid-motion. Instead, I closed my mouth and looked at All Might. I could practically see the pride radiating off of him. I dont have the heart to tell him that his advice did jack shit.

"Yeah, it was a little tricky at first, but I got the hang of it," I lied with the confidence of a man who has been caught peeping too many times to count.

"I'm glad I was able to help young Hyoudou. But enough about my amazing teaching advice, let's get back to your training." He was trying and failing at keeping his self-satisfied smile off his face, but I didn't want to ruin his moment, so I pretended not to notice.

"Now that we have that out of the way, I want you to deactivate your quirk and then reactivate it."

The next few attempts still took a good amount of focus for me to actually get my quirk to activate. But after a couple of tries, the process got a lot easier. I eventually got to the point where I no longer had to focus so much on the light switch and just think about my quirk appearing and disappearing.

This went for a little while. I would make the glove disappear and reappear to train my ability to summon it on command. But, since I was still inexperienced, All Might recommended not keeping it activated for too long, since we still didn't know how my quirk affected me.

Once he was satisfied with my results, he told me to go back to collecting trash with Izuku.

The day continued in the exact same way as yesterday, but instead of All Might getting a phone call, we heard a loud explosion in the distance, which caused All Might to transform and jump away. The walk back to the apartment was still trying, and I once again had to help Izuku make it all the way. We arrived at the apartment to the smell of Inko's cooking since today was apparently one of the few days she had off from work.

Izuku headed into the shower first, while I spent time helping Inko in the kitchen.

POV: Izuku Midoriya

The shower felt refreshing against my aching body. Then again, I was just lying on the bathroom floor while the water was raining down on me like a limp noodle, but still, it was very refreshing.

But I couldn't lie there for too long since Issei was still waiting for his turn.

Drying myself off and changing, I exited the bathroom to see Issei passed out on the living room floor. I look over to see Mom finishing up in the kitchen, I motion over to Issei lying on the ground.

"Oh, don't mind him. He offered to help me, but all I had left was putting the dishes away, so I just told him to lie down and wait for you to leave the bathroom. I didn't expect him to pass out, tho." She had a worried expression while looking at Issei before turning to me, " What are you two doing so early in the morning again?"

"We're doing some volunteer work at the beach. Issei offered to come to make sure I'm alright. It worked out since I managed to clear a lot of trash with his help. " She didn't like the fact that we were waking up so early to go to the beach, but she warmed up to the idea a little, since Issei was with me, and it was for the community.

I turned back to look at Issei. I thought about leaving him alone and letting him rest for a little while, but I decided against it since I didn't want him to wake up in sweaty clothes.

Waking him up was as simple as shaking him. I told him the shower was ready, and he slowly but surely dragged himself to the bathroom.

Looking at the clock showed that it was ten minutes past one in the afternoon. I went to my room, sat at my desk, and opened a book from my bag. Since I had school tomorrow, I wanted to get a head start on next week's material. I managed to get through math and history before I heard the bathroom door open.

I heard Issei walk around a little bit before the sounds of his air mattress slowly inflating filled the apartment. Just as I turned my head to get back to my schoolwork, a question from earlier popped into my head. Getting up from my desk, I walked into the living room to see Issei lying on a partially inflated air mattress.

"Hey Issei, I have a question about today," I asked before grabbing the remote and turning on the TV."About what?" Issei's voice was mumbled out since he only barely turned his head to view the screen.

"What were you and All Might talking about while I was away?" Issei shifted his body and turned his head to face me.

"Oh, that. He was just helping me train my quirk. Today, we just focused on activating it". He spoke before lifting his left hand. Nothing happened for a few seconds before a bright light enveloped his hand. When I looked back, I saw a metallic gauntlet that shone a deep crimson, with an emerald gem at its center.

"With the little bit of training I went through with All Might, I managed to summon my Quirk almost instantly. But I'm worn out, so it took longer than I thought." Issei commented while looking at the glove before turning back to face the TV.

I always loved quirks, and I'm especially interested in discovering new ones and figuring out what they do, and maybe if I'm lucky, finding new and more efficient ways their users could handle them.

So I wasn't surprised when one moment I was sitting on the couch, and then in the next I was kneeling right beside Issei, examining his left arm and the quirk attached to it. Issei was not so calm. He had his full attention on the program that was displayed on the TV, which was now airing a cook-off competition between a Japanese chef and his opponent from France.

So he was a little surprised when he felt me behind me and probing his left arm, like it was some type of action figure ready to be played with.

"Jesus, I didn't even hear you walk over here." He jumped a little. I apologized for startling him, then continued to examine the gauntlet. He went back to watching the cook-off. A quick glance showed the food of choice was an American-style cheeseburger."Do you mind if I take a closer look at it?" I didn't want to be rude and poke and twist his arm around just to satisfy my curiosity, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want him to say yes.

"Sure, why not? It's not like it takes much to keep it active," He paused for a second. " At least I think so, I haven't really kept this thing active for long periods of time." He had a thoughtful expression before shrugging, "It should be fin.."

"What does it do?"

"What?" Issei turned around and gave me a confused stare, but at that point, I was too focused on listing off different abilities to pay attention.

"What does your quirk do. Does it let you fly, or punch really hard, or run really fast? Can you set things on fire with YOUR THOUGHTS?"

He took a second to process the rapid storm of questions before answering

"I don't know what it does; I didn't have the time to test it out." He looked at the clock. "Hey, we have some time before the sun is gonna start coming down. Want to test it out with me?"

POV: Issei Hyoudou

It was like I had unleashed a green tornado.

Before I could even register what was happening, we had already left the apartment and were making are way back to the beach. I wasn't really planning on heading back out here today, but when I saw Izuku's excited face when I showed off my Quirk, I thought some training on the side couldn't hurt.

And besides, I was also curious to figure out what this thing could do. The only thing All Might had me doing was making it appear and disappear. Which is fine and all, but if you suddenly found out that you had a cool super power, I think most people wouldn't be satisfied with just turning it off and on.

"Ok, Issei, I'm all set, ready to go when you are." Izuku gave me a thumbs up before crouching behind some trash with a notebook in hand. Activating my quirk barely even took a second. I waited for a few seconds so Izuku could finish writing. Once that was done, he looked back up and started sending questions my way.

"Great, we confirmed that you can summon it at will. Now that we have that established, the next step would be finding out what it does."

"Ok, and how do we do that?"

Izuku gives his notes a quick glance before writing something else down."That is the hard part, since I dont know what type of quirks your parents had, or if they had any at all, I can't use your ancestry as a basis for what your Quirk does."

"Worst case scenario, your Quirk is simply the ability to summon that red gauntlet on your left arm." He spoke in such a matter-of-fact tone that I almost missed what he said.

"The ability to summon this Gauntlet. That's kinda lame." I voice my displeasure at the idea that my one and only gimmick was summoning a red glove.

"It actually might come in handy." Izuku motioned me over to show me something he had written. " While the gauntlet by itself may not seem that useful, there are a handful of ways it proves helpful. For example, think of the advantage you would have in hand-to-hand combat, while your opponents may be working with just their bare hands, you have the upper hand of having a metal gauntlet. And with how pointy all the edges look, it may also work as a pseudo-knife. And depending on how resilient the metal is, it could work to shield you from bullets."

Izuku effortlessly listed off different ways I could apply my quirk that I havent even begun to think of. And with each passing second, he wrote another method down in his notebook on the page that was rapidly decreasing in space. Just when it appeared that Izuku was about to go on another tangent, he shook his head and turned back to me.

"Ah..sorry about that, got lost in my head for a second there. But back to what we were saying. If we want to figure out what your Quirk actually does, we have a couple of different ways to go about it." He flipped to another page in the notebook and showed it to me.

"The first method we could use is to go to an official Quirk doctor, and they could use machines and methods that most normal people living in Japan aren't able to. "

"That one sounds promising, let's go with that one." Izuku shook his head at my answer before continuing

"The only downside to this is that you need to schedule an appointment in advance, and those take months to go through due to all the parents wanting professionals to look over their children."

"Never mind. What else do you have, cause I'm not really interested in the option that involves me being stuck on the waiting list for months."

"Well, the second option we have is to just try to activate it by feeling alone." Izuku didn't seem too sure about this option, going by the skeptical look on his face. "Besides the vagueness of this option, you dont seem to be sure about it."

"Well, it's not that I dont trust the idea, but I personally can't see the logic behind it." He put his notebook down and glanced up at the sky." I've always wanted to be a hero, but I was quickly told that my dream just wasn't gonna happen. At first, that really affected me, but with the help of my mother and my love for heroes, I decided to look up ways to activate a quirk. And this was one of the methods I stumbled upon. Apparently, A lot of late bloomers are not only able to awaken their quirk but even find a way to activate them, even if it's just for a short while. And the single thread connection, each and every one of these awakenings, was the fact that each person was either filled with a strong desire or emotion".

"And speaking from someone who's tried and failed to achieve any results from this method. I would be lying if I were to say that I wasn't holding reservations about this one." Izuku was scratching the back of his head while looking at some text on the paper."But since you actually have a quirk, it wouldn't hurt to try it out just in case."

I looked at Izuku before going back to observing my quirk. It sounded like Izuku had a lot to unpack emotionally. I almost forgot that this was the same kid who was also getting bullied at his school; you couldn't even tell based on the way he acted.

At times like this, I kinda of wish I had more normal interactions with people my age. If I did, I would probably have an easier time figuring out what to say. I wish an adult like Inko or All Might were here; they would've found some way to cheer Izuku up.

Me? The best I can do is stand around awkwardly. And I would've continued doing just that until a worn newspaper caught my eye.

The newspaper itself wasn't all that special; huge parts of it were either unreadable or just missing entirely. But the part that caught my eye was an older photo of a hero saving someone, displayed front and center on the paper.

It was then that I had an idea; now, whether or not this idea worked was up for debate, but at least I had one.

"Hawks kinda sucks, not gonna lie"

Izuku, who had gone back to writing in his notebook, froze on the spot. His body went rigid, and his pen fell from his hand. His neck jerked upwards until he was looking at me. His face looked like he had just heard the most blasphemous thing in his entire life. The suddenness of my words, combined with the disrespect thrown towards a hero he knew, must've caught him off guard.

"Did you say something?" He voiced out, confused and a tad bit accusing.

"Oh, sorry, man, I was just thinking out loud, didn't mean to disturb you." I acted innocent to the fact that I clearly spoke out aloud to grab his attention.

"Oh..." Izuku looked away for a moment, like he was trying to process my answer. For a second, he looked like he was about to brush off the comment and get back to what he was doing."But what did you mean when you said that he 'sucks"? But like flipping a coin, Izuku quickly shot up to his feet and began asking questions.

And now that he took the bait, it was time to reel him in.

"Oh, nothing much, just saying that he doesn't deserve the number three spot is all", I spoke as if what I was saying was simply a fact. But in reality, I hardly knew anything about this "Hawks" guy. The only reason I even knew he was the third-ranked hero was because Izuku was obsessed with him. Talking about him constantly around the apartment. Well, he was obsessed with almost every hero, but he talked about Hawks more than most, and he even showed me a drawing of him in his notebook.

"WHAT!!" Izuku now confirming what I said wasn't a mistake. Began looking at me like I said feet are better than breasts." I understand that people have mixed opinions on the hero rankings this year, especially in the top ten. But to say that Hawks doesn't deserve the number three spot is crazy; in fact, most fans even said that he deserved the number two spot over Endeavor."

Izuku ran back to his notebook, which he had left on the sand, before practically shoving it in my face. The image of Izuku hand-drawn Hawks was on display as if to prove his point. To be honest, I was taken aback. I've never seen him act this aggressively when talking about something.

Which means my plan is working. So with a little bit of effort, I managed to get a slight smirk to form on my face.

"Ok, Ok, whatever you say, man. But let's not get sidetracked and get back to focusing on my quirk." I gave off my best "you're still wrong, but I don't want to argue about it" vibe I could. This usually worked when either Mastuda or Motohama were acting particularly moody.

Since none of us were any good at actually talking about are feelings on a serious level, we just stuck to riling the person who was upset until they eventually forgot their bad mood.

And looking at Izuku's upbeat, if a little frenzied expression as he went back to writing, it seems my idea worked. Now, this was no means a solution, it was only temporary and lasted as long as the person in question didn't think about whatever was causing them to be down in the first place.

But with my limited social skills, and the fact that we really didn't know each other all that well just yet. I'll say I did an ok job at cheering him up.

"You're right, I got distracted for a moment." Izuku clearly wanted to continue talking about Hawks, but just shook his head and went back to his spot." Ok Issei, this method only works when the individual has strong emotions, so try thinking of something that you feel strongly about and will go from there."

That doesn't sound too hard, and if this actually does work, I might be able to find out whether or not I have a kick ass superpower. I'm starting to get a little nervous, and even if it's not that strong, I hope I can at least get a few girls with it.

The NEXT DAY

POV. Toshinori Yagi

"Ok, remind me one more time, what exactly happened after I left yesterday?"

I felt another cough coming, but I managed to suppress it with a sip of my coffee and the will that comes from being the number one hero for decades. But my coughing aside, I take a glance at my two "Students," one being my successor, and the other being a young man who seems to have great potential to be a hero.

You know, at first, I was so proud of myself for taking on these two young men who have the potential to shape our society for the better. But I can't seem to wrangle even an ounce of pride at the sight of these two budding heroes; instead, all I feel is exhaustion. Because in front of me are Young Midoriya and Young Hyoudou, both covered in bruises. Mostly around the bits of their arms and hands that aren't being covered by their clothes.

If I didn't know any better, I would say these two got into a fight with a villain and lost badly.

"I found out what my quirk actually does." It was young Hyoudou who finally broke the silence, probably because I had been eyeing them down with my most serious stare for the last two minutes, and because Young Midoriya looked like a kicked puppy, who probably wasn't gonna be saying anything for a little bit.

"Ok, and how does discovering what your quirk does cause both of you to end up like that?" I wave my hand in their general direction.

"Well, at first we wer..."

FIVE MINUTES LATER

"And that's when the trash pile fell over me and Izuku, causing my Quirk to activate, allowing me to free both of us. After that, Izuku did some more testing, in which he found out that my quirk somehow enhances my strength."

You know, when Young Hyoudou started his story, I never expected him to be such a good storyteller. But I can't be distracted, I'm supposed to be mad at their recklessness.

"Normally, I would punish both of you for doing something reckless like this. There is a reason I told you not to push yourself too far with your quirk, Young Hyoudou." At the reprimand, both Hyoudou and Midoriya lowered their heads.

"I understand that gaining a new power can be exciting, but you must also understand that, as useful as quirks can be, they can be just as deadly." I let that sentence sink in for both of them before I continued. "But the blame cannot be placed entirely on both of you." At this, their heads perked back up.

"I should've known you would want to explore your powers. I should've warned you more about the dangers of handling an unknown quirk, even if it's your quirk you're dealing with. Because of my inability to teach you properly, you both got hurt, and for that, I'm sorry."

I bowed as far as my broken body would allow. While they managed to come away with a couple of bruises, next time they try something like this, they may not be so lucky, and someone could get really hurt, or worse.

I heard Young Midoriya getting flustered about my bowing. I'm glad my successor turned out to be one of my fans. It fills me with a bit of pride knowing how much I affected society for the better in my time as the symbol of peace. But at some point, it just becomes too much.

"Alright, now that we've got that settled, let's move on to your punishments."

" PUNISHMENTS! what Punishments? I thought you said we weren't in trouble." Young Hyoudou became very alert at that.

"No? I never said you two weren't going to receive punishment, I was just implying that the punishments weren't going to be as severe since I, too, share some of the blame."

At that, Young Hyoudou seemed to calm down.

"Oh, ok, if it's not as severe, I'm sure it's not too bad. So uh, what exactly would you have us do, All Might?" He was happy knowing he and Young Midoriya were getting off easy, and since he wanted to know so badly, I would happily assist him.

"twenty-five laps around the beach." At my word, the smile that appeared on both of their faces dropped. Before they started talking, I turned around and began walking to my truck.

"I know what you two are thinking, and don't worry, when I was your guys' age, I was able to do fifty laps around a beach like this easily." I didn't have to turn around to know both of their face were now painted with despair.

"Oh, and before I forget, be sure to stretch before running because both of you need to start collecting more trash when you're done. Alright, good luck, Heroes." With that last bit of advice, I hop into my truck and get comfortable in the driver's seat. Since those two were gonna take a while to finish, I might as well catch some sleep in the process.

Author's Note:

Apologies for the massive delay. I had to write and rewrite multiple parts of this chapter entirely, because after re-watching the first few episodes of DxD again, I realized I completety fukced up the way the Sacred Gear worked. Also, on a side note, I forgot how much fan service was in the first season and was genuinely taken aback by some of the scenes.

Alright, before we go on to talk about the chapter itself, I just wanted to say this is the final chapter before U.A. Take that piece of information and do what you want with it.

Alright, now onto the chapter itself, the main topic I plan to discuss is the part where Issei unlocks his sacred Gear abilities. Yeah, I cut that part out. But only because that portion in the story has gone under so many rewrites that I just decided to cut it out entirely and mention it in the time skip. which may seem like a fake out, which it is no denying that but it was either this or the chapter staying in my drafts forever.

Anyway, I plan to post the next chapter on November Eighteenth, because I dont want to ditch you guys again, while also giving me time to write something that's not completely garbage. I hope everyone has a great rest of their day.
