Somewhere in the woods
Her eyes were fluttering, as a flood of memories was returning to her, all the difficult moments, all the painful times, and all the intolerable aspects of her life, how she had been rejected by everyone for so many years. The man before her brought her to her lowest point. He was the cause of her previous vulnerability, lacking a safe place, at risk of being attacked or harmed, both physically and emotionally.
Seeing him standing there in front of her filled her with rage. She despises him. Imagine standing at the edge of a cliff with the wind blowing around you and the turbulent sea crashing against the rocks below. And that's how it feels when her anger toward him rises.
"Sorry my bad, let me correct myself," he said, "Father of our child." As these words left his mouth, Savannah was filled with deep disgust while he smirked at her and walked around the bedroom and sat on the bed with an apple in his hand, "Unlock the door and let me the hell out of here!" Her anger was evident as she expressed this. He chuckled like a lunatic once more, while she frowned in bewilderment, pondering what was so amusing.
"Do you honestly believe I brought you here to let you leave just like that?" he said, altering his demeanor entirely. His expression now seemed confrontational, "No Savannah, that's not possible," he said with sarcasm, "What do you need?" Savannah inquired immediately, as it was clear he desired something from her.
But what exactly? After all this time, he hadn't reached out at all. Why now? What does he desire? Numerous thoughts filled her mind regarding any potential option, yet none emerged.
He appeared to be pondering or was behaving like someone deep in thought? He has to be joking at this moment; he unexpectedly smiled before rising from the bed and approaching Savannah.
She stepped back since this man is untrustworthy in his behavior, and she prefers not to be near him.
"I want my son." The moment the request escaped his lips, she found it hard to understand what he meant. Son? He wants Theo?
Savannah laughed agrresively, irritated that he had the nerve to request him. She slapped him hard across his cheel, "How dare you ask this?" Not understanding why, her anger surged, and she hit him again on his face. "You—" he attempted to speak, but Savannah interrupted, "You must be joking." She glared at him icily and declared, "Do as you please, but just know this-"
"You are not taking my child." She responded, "Fuck off!!" She glared at him with furious eyes blazing with rage, while he clenched his teeth, glaring back at Savannah who had dared to slap him twice. He seized a handful of her hair; she felt a jolt of pain but concealed it, refusing to appear weak before anyone. Not in his presence.
"Did I hurt your pride?" Savannah remarked as she smiled, and his grip got even tightened, "You're still just as much of a brat." Thump! And everything became pitch black to her.
Baldwin's Mansion
They were all gathered In a dark looking monitoring room which was high-stakes, high-tech nerve center where criminal operations are closely overseen. Therefore atmosphere was tense and discreet, reflecting the secretive nature of its occupants.
The room is typically situated in a secure, hidden location-often underground or behind a façade of legitimacy. It was sparsely furnished with a large central table and a series of high-backed chairs. The décor was utilitarian, with dark, muted colors and minimalistic design to avoid drawing attention.
The walls were lined with multiple flat-screen monitors displaying real-time feeds from various surveillance cameras, both in public spaces and private locations of interest. These screens are meticulously organized, showing a mix of live video feeds, maps, and digital blueprints. Some rooms might also have a dedicated server rack for storing and processing data.
In one corner was a sophisticated communication hub equipped with encrypted phones, radio systems, and secure internet connections. This was where blaze operators exchange information and coordinate activities with field agents and other mafia members.
Additionally, a small team of operators monitored feeds and analyzed data. These individuals were usually calm under pressure, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to react immediately to emerging problems.
"Alright, thank you for your time," Elijah said from the other side of the room while speaking on the phone, "No, everything's okay, don't be concerned." He disconnected the call and approached his Boss, who was watching the cameras alongside the team.
Elijah glanced at Arthur, who was gazing back, and Elijah responded by shaking his head.
Blaze, occupied with the cameras, finally noticed Savannah on the screen as she entered a café accompanied by another woman. For an hour, they remained inside while Blaze studied the surveillance footage with a suspicious gaze. After an hour and a half, they exited the café. "So they did leave the café," Blaze muttered to himself. "Find more from here," he instructed the monitoring technician.
After searching for another half hour, they still couldn't locate her. "There's nothing in there now," he muttered sarcastically as he moved toward Elijah, having failed to find what he sought to capture.
"What did they say?" Blaze inquired as soon as he noticed Elijah had completed his call. "She isn't there." Blaze seemed to already know the answer to the question, so he shifted to another section of the room where additional computers were operating. "Any updates?" Blaze inquired with his tracking team, who were attempting to find Savannah's phone.
"Boss," the man responded, "We require additional time." Blaze looked at the screen, trying to find her position on the map, murmuring to himself, "Hurry up!"
"I don't wish to arrive late." His thoughts were consumed by negativity that drove him crazy, the dread of losing her. All of these were sending him negative signals. He is eager now.
He needed to reach her quickly; he couldn't stand witnessing her pain. "Stay safe, Savannah," he murmured again to himself. "Boss, we have it!" the team told their boss, who then looked at the monitor displaying her precise location. "I'm coming, Ana."
