Chapter 111 - Chapter 110 – Roxas’s Polyglot Talent

Third-person POV

The silence that followed the revelation from Sho was deafening and funny (in Anko's perspective). As Suguha was still agitated and frozen from the shock, Roxas snickered. "I knew it. You don't know that fact, right?"

Suguha didn't say anything and ran back to the house, calling in Kirito's aunt and uncle (the uncle had a day-off today) to come over to the front door. The couple did so, and Sho said to them, "Uncle, auntie, hello there, I'm Manabat Sho, Kirito's long-lost older brother."

Midori gasped in shock, and a tear came from her eye.

She knew what Kirito's late parents had said to them before their deaths, as well as the letters from the Manabat couple had confirmed for years.

"Y-You're Sho…?" Minetaka said to Sho while as shocked as Midori.

"Yes, it's me," Sho replied, his yellow t-shirt and its design that sported the culture of Iloilo signaled his background in the Philippines. "You two are Kirito's uncle and aunt, right?"

To settle things down, all of them are in the living room. Roxas and Sho had left their shoes at the front as per Japanese custom. Midori served some tea while Suguha was still processing the revelation. Roxas's bag filled with Filipino pasalubong was on the coffee table.

"The letters said so…" Minetaka said to Sho.

 "Yes," replied Sho.

He then showed a few photos of the Kirigaya-Manabat letters exchanged over the years; some were on Japanese paper, while others were on yellow manila paper and a few notebook ones.

"Yes, that one is when you're in high school…" Midori pointed at one photo.

She then looked at Sho. "It is you, Sho-kun."

Sho then smiled. "Yes, that's me."

Suguha's mind metaphorically exploded when she had a peek on a few Japanese and English letters on the photos. "No way…another cousin of mine, from the Philippines?"

Sho then nodded. "Tokyo roots, but my historical ones are planted in Santa Barbara, Iloilo, the Philippines."

He then gestured to Roxas. "This is Nietes Roxas, or Roxas Torre Agbayani-Nietes, my childhood friend in the same barangay in Santa Barbara."

"Greetings to all of you." Roxas did a formal Japanese bow.

The Kirigayas then introduced themselves to him as Anko invisibly glanced at the photos of Kirito and Suguha.

After that clearing of facts, it was time for Roxas to show the pasalubong to the Kirigaya family. "Here, pasalubong from Iloilo City and at the Cebu City International Airport during our layover from Iloilo City." The trio of family members took a peek at them. It contained packs of Butterscotch sweets, Bischoco breads, some dried mangoes, piayas, and even a few souvenirs in the form of keychains, postcards, and 2 T-shirts in white and had the design of Iloilo and Cebu.

Suguha took a piaya pack. "What is this?"

"That's a Piaya pack," replied Roxas back. "It's a flaky pastry with Ube filling in it. Try it. It's tasty."

Suguha opened the pack and took a bite of one; her eyes widened. "It's so sweet!"

She then finished one piece and moved on to a pack of Butterscotch sweets, opened it, and took a bite of a chewy piece. "Wow! So chewy and sweet!"

Minetaka and Midori then took some butterscotch bars and ate them.

Now, after that, Roxas revealed to them the current status of the real Kirito in the void from his dreams, like someone who was relaying intel. They were shocked, and Suguha was horrified. "Yes," replied Roxas, "and he was still struggling against the evil AI version of himself who took control of him. Yes, it is true."

He then said the last short sentence in these languages:

Turkish: Evet, doğru.

Spanish: Sí, es cierto.

Vietnamese: Vâng, đúng vậy.

Korean: 네, 사실입니다. - Ne, sasil-ibnida.

Japanese: はい,その通りです. - Hai, sonotōridesu.

Hindi: हाँ, यह सच है। - Haan, yah sach hai.

Greek: Ναι, είναι αλήθεια. - Nai, eínai alítheia.

Romanian: Da, este adevărat.

Maltese: Iva, huwa veru.

Hungarian: Igen, igaz.

The Kirigayas were absolutely confused by the languages (except for Japanese). Roxas just said for the short sentence, "Yes, it is true." "Oh, that's polyglot talent Roxas has had since he was 11 years old." Sho laughed. "With a Google Translate mechanic (metaphorically), he can be a master of it in weeks or months."

They were in awe, while Roxas was in non-bragging pride in his talent.

After that, while the teatime was still on, the Kirigayas were saying their gratitude to Roxas and Sho for their information about the real Kirito in the void. "Yes, it's fine," Roxas replied brightly.

The private quest was finished.

And then, Suguha introduced the room of Kirito to Sho and Roxas. The desk had three screens, in contrast to Sho's two in his Santa Barbara Manabat home, and Roxas's one in his room, both in the Nietes home and in his KIA shared house home (Roxas's is basically his laptop on the go). Roxas emphasized paper books more than the number of screens on his desk.
