Qi Mei walked to the door, two men who had eaten several bowls of rice were already passed out, unconscious. She squatted down, fished a key out of their pockets, and opened the door.
The air conditioner was on inside, sending a cool breeze. Qi Mei gestured for silence to Qi Hongtao, and the two of them tiptoed in. At once, they saw Tong Ran lying on the balcony.
She had her head tilted sideways, apparently basking in the sun here earlier.
Luo Xiao and Meng Yao were lying on the bed.
On the table, lunch trays were still set out, one of which was hardly touched, as if someone had just drunk some soup.
Both were focused on getting Tong Ran out, clearly not noticing all this. Qi Mei walked to the balcony, touched Tong Ran's hand. Fortunately, it wasn't too cold.
