Aldric paced the perimeter of the pack's territory, his senses sharp and his muscles coiled with tension. He knew the attack was imminent—three rogue vampires were coming, and it was his duty to protect his family and his pack.
Rowan walked beside him, his small face set with determination far beyond his years. Despite his young age, Rowan had proven himself time and again to be more than capable. His connection to the earth and water had grown stronger with each passing year, and Aldric trusted his son's abilities. Still, the idea of putting Rowan in danger made Aldric's heart ache.

Rowan nodded, his expression serious. "I'll be careful, Papa. I won't let you down."

The first vampire emerged from the shadows, its eyes gleaming with a malevolent red light. It moved with a predatory grace, its gaze fixed on Aldric and Rowan with a hunger that sent a shiver down Aldric's spine. Two more vampires followed, their movements swift and deadly as they flanked the first.

They wrapped around the vampires' legs and arms, pulling them down with a force that even the powerful creatures couldn't easily resist. The vampires struggled, their hisses of anger filling the air as they tried to free themselves from the earth's grasp.
But Rowan wasn't finished. As the vampires fought against the roots, Rowan focused on the stream that ran nearby. With a flick of his wrist, the water obeyed his command, rising from the streambed in a swirling torrent. The water formed a powerful wave that crashed over the vampires, its force knocking them to the ground and pinning them there with the weight of the rushing current.
The vampires shrieked in fury, their movements becoming more frantic as they realized they were losing the battle. Rowan gritted his teeth, his face set with determination as he held the water in place, refusing to let the vampires rise.
"Papa!" Rowan called out, his voice strained from the effort of controlling the water. "I can't hold them much longer!"
Aldric, still locked in battle with the first vampire, heard his son's cry and knew he had to end this quickly. With a final, powerful surge, Kael tore into the vampire's throat, severing its head from its body in a spray of dark blood. The vampire crumpled to the ground, its life extinguished in an instant.
Kael turned to Rowan just as the boy's strength began to wane. The vampires had managed to free one arm each, and they were clawing their way out of the water's grip. With a powerful leap, Kael closed the distance between them, his jaws snapping shut on the closest vampire's neck. He tore the creature apart with a ferocity born of desperation, leaving only one vampire remaining.
The last vampire, sensing its imminent defeat, let out a final, desperate hiss before Rowan summoned the last of his strength. With a forceful gesture, he commanded the earth to open beneath the vampire, the ground swallowing the creature whole before closing over it with a thundering crash.
Exhausted but victorious, Rowan sank to his knees, his breathing ragged. Kael shifted back into Aldric, who rushed to his son's side, pulling him into a tight embrace.
"You did it, Rowan," Aldric whispered, his voice filled with pride. "You did it."
Rowan nodded, his body trembling from the exertion. "We did it, Papa. Together."
Aldric smiled, his heart swelling with love and admiration for his son. "Yes, together. You were incredible, Rowan."
