"Lower your gaze", Loyd warned one of the demi-human warriors at the gate, who glanced up at Fiona.
The young knight's powerful aura spread among the demi-humans, and none dared argue back; they just bit their lips and cursed internally at the young human who was very serious in his duty, and his loyalty was never in question. He took pride in serving someone so close to Ali.
"My lady, it would be safer for you to wait inside." Loyd said to Fiona, who shook her head at the young knight.
"I will not take one step in the city before him", she said, holding her daughter as she looked up between the clouds, waiting for any sign of a dragon. She had the utmost confidence that Ali would win against the Viscount.
Inside, the situation had calmed down with the sound of slaves cutting their chains and taking the gold of their dead masters. The smell of blood spread everywhere, frightening families to lock down their doors in fear of the demi-human wrath.
Everybody was hiding in fear except for very few individuals. One of them was a priest who laughed hysterically underneath the temple of the True Flame. A massive torch statue at the end of his hideout shone an ethereal purple as streams of violet entered it from the city above.
"Yes, MORE, MORE, MORE. KILL. DIE. HATE. REVENGE. ALL OF IT WILL BRING ABOUT YOUR DOOM", he shouted in his hideout, which was soundproof through his demonic magic.
Slowly, his body ripped through his clothes as inhuman muscles burst from his body, and tentacles with monstrous mouths at the end extended from pores all over his body that still had human features but very clearly belonged to something not human at all.
Meanwhile, in the auction tent that was under lockdown by knights, the cells were very quiet as all the knights retreated to the Knight Family bases. But there was someone still down in the dungeon, someone who couldn't wait anymore.
"What is happening out there? So much demonic energy for me to harvest…Is the Demon of gluttony causing this?", someone covered by rags broke through the cell bars with ease and started walking up the stairs of the empty dungeon while clutching their rags very tightly, the only thing keeping the priest from immediately sensing the smell.
Minutes felt like hours to the residents of Ironpeak who looked out their curtains cautiously to see dozens of armed people rushing towards a specific area of the city.
They were all running to the north side of the city where two massive mansions with huge land surrounding them stood. These two mansions were only second in size to the Viscount's manor, and surrounding the houses of the two knight families were dozens of demi-human warriors aiming bows at the knights waiting near the mansions with their swords ready for a brutal fight.
ROAAAAAAAAAR
Suddenly a loud roar broke through the tension of the city, taking everyone's attention to the sky where a monstrous black dragon peeked its head through the clouds in the sky, its horrifying teeth on full display as Shadow opened its maw as far as it could, showing rows and rows of fangs.
"Fuck", one of the knights in the garden of the two mansions dropped his sword as he looked up at the dragon.
"It's over", he said, his words echoing between the ranks of knights alongside him.
"The viscount lost", another said, letting the others realise that any hopes for regaining the upper hand were impossible now, especially since the mages and priests abandoned them and the city.
Outside the city, Fiona saw Shadow and smiled, the complete opposite reaction to the residents of the city when they saw the monster.
Shadow disappeared back in the clouds, but something broke through the white clouds and was heading straight for Fiona.
It was Ali carrying Eryndis in a princess carry. She was wearing a black hood to hide her identity as a dark elf.
WOOOSH
Ali slowed his descent to a complete halt before landing very gently beside Fiona and setting Eryndis down before looking at Fiona who smiled back at him. He was wearing his white coat but nothing underneath. A black ring was now on his middle finger next to the blood ring.
"Ready?", Fiona asked.
"Let's go", Ali said. He gave Loyd behind her a glance and the fully armoured knight immediately kneeled.
"Knight Loyd in your service, my lord", he said.
"Level three…Not bad", Ali commented, letting the young man enjoy the praise before stepping off towards the gate where the Demi-humans suddenly felt a crushing weight on their shoulders and dropped down to their knees. Some even had their faces on the road.
"Did your elders not teach you already? You are not worthy to stand before me. So you kneel…Better than losing your life", Ali warned, and Loyd had his hand on his sword, wishing Ali would say the word so he could kill them.
Fiona, on the other hand, looked down at them. 'I don't feel the same hate…Did I put it past me?', she thought to herself as she didn't feel the same disgust she did before when she saw a Demi-human.
"Forgive them, Lord. I will make sure they are disciplined back home", Liza said, with Demi-humans opening the gates of the city.
Ali walked past Liza who bowed to him with Fiona at his side. The moment Ali stepped into the city, he unleashed his Force Sense, covering the whole city in a second and focused on two specific targets in the city.
"Fiona, how do you write 'Wait'? Show me", Ali suddenly said to Fiona, who was surprised but followed his wish and with her index finger wrote the word in the air, and Ali followed her movement.
CRACK CRACK CRACK
Just before stepping out of the auction, the walls of the corridor collapsed on themselves, and the person in rags jumped back, surprised before their eyes traced a line in the wall.
"Wait", they read the word carved on the wall.
Ali walked through the empty streets all the way to the Viscount's mansion. There he saw dozens of freed slaves waiting with desperation in their eyes to break through the gates of the mansion and get their hands on the Viscount's family, especially the demon child.
"Kneel before your Lord and Saviour", Bona shouted at all of them, and they slowly followed her words, kneeling before Ali while taking glances at the human whose presence dominated all of them the moment he got close.
"Bona, you look happy", Ali said with his expressionless face.
Bona looked at the gorgeous woman next to Ali and saw the young baby in her arms, then nodded respectfully at her. 'Of course, his wife would have to be the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on', she thought to herself.
"How could I not be, my Lord? I can't believe I'm saying this…WE'RE FREEEEEEEEE", she screamed her lungs out, and the kneeling Demi-humans joined her in cheering for their freedom.
"This is only the start. Now is time for you to rebuild your society. Which is why every Demi-human in the city is being sent to the village in the Forest for at least six months. They must get accustomed to being free and letting go of their hatred towards humans, else they can't leave the village", Fiona spoke this time, and Bona nodded.
"You're right, my lady", she said.
"Get word to the magic tower", Ali said to Loyd, who lowered his head and prepared to listen carefully.
"Send an appropriate messenger to the Knight families. Convey to them that it's over and the Viscount is dead. They either surrender and kneel before the new Lord of the South or die. They have an hour to respond, else I will personally wipe their families from the face of the continent.", Ali finished, and Loyd immediately ran, using his aura to speed up and relay the message to the magic tower.
"Now then, time to clean the city.", Ali said and snapped his fingers. Every gate in the mansion opened, every door opened, and every window slid up.
"There is nobody in there who can use aura or magic. Get me the Viscount's family….", Ali ordered, Bona who nodded excitedly and raised her sword high.
HAAAAAAAAAAAAA
She screamed and ran to the mansion with the others screaming and following her into the prestigious mansion with their weapons raised. This was the mansion where the most powerful condemned them to their fate every day, and today they would drag the noble family of IronPeak out to pay for centuries of slavery.
"What now? Go after the Duchy and then the capital?", Fiona asked, looking at the mansion where the screams of a woman and boy could be heard.
"Am I a warmonger to you? Do I have to burn the capital to become king?", Ali said with a smirk. He looked down into her gold eyes.
"Could I not marry a princess and walk into the capital with a road of flowers waiting for me? I heard the royal family is famous for their gold hair and eyes", Ali said, looking down at her.
Fiona froze, hearing the words come out of his mouth. She hugged her daughter tighter, "Ali…I—", she tried to say something, but Ali stopped her with a raised hand.
"You can tell me when you think it's right. I do have to warn you though…", Ali lowered his mouth to her ear.
"A paladin by the name of Katarin is here…", Ali said, and Fiona's eyes widened…
'KATARIN…Little sister….', Fiona thought, and her heart ached so much hearing that name….
