Chapter 6 - CHAPTER SIX

Alexander pov

As I drove to the Vampire Court, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. The werewolves had been growing bolder, and I knew they wouldn't hesitate to attack me if they got the chance.

And then, out of nowhere, they ambushed me. A pack of snarling, snapping werewolves surrounded my car, their eyes glowing in the dark. They forced me to come down from the vehicle, their taunts and snarls echoing through the night.

I stepped out of the car, my eyes scanning the pack. I didn't need a dagger to take them down - my vampire strength and speed were enough. With a swift movement, I took down the first werewolf, my hand closing around its throat like a vice.

The others attacked, but I was relentless. I fought them off with my bare hands, my vampire powers giving me the upper hand. One by one, they fell to the ground, until only one was left.

I spared that one, injuring him just enough to make sure he'd survive. As I stood over him, my eyes blazing with a warning, I hissed: "Tell your alpha that Alexander, the Vampire Lord, will not be threatened. If you attack me again, I will destroy your entire pack."

I sent the injured werewolf back to his alpha as a warning, knowing that the message would be recieved loud and clear

As I turned to leave, I heard a scream pierce the night air. My heart raced as I recognized the voice - it was the mysterious girl from the other day. Without hesitation, I rushed towards the sound, my vampire speed carrying me swiftly through the darkness.

As I turned a corner, I saw her and she was trying to escape from a snarling werewolf. I pushed the werewolf away from her and killed it, then turned to her and saw that she had injured her knee.

"Lean on me , we'll help you get fixed up" I said, offering my support. She hesitated at first, but then took my arm, and I could feel her weight on me as we walked.

But as we continued on, she began to slow down, her pain and exhaustion evident. I knew she couldn't keep going like this, so I didn't hesitate - I swept her up into my arms, carrying her bridal style despite her protests.

"I thought you would carry me on your back" she exclaimed, but I just tightened my hold on her.

She struggled a bit, but eventually relaxed into my arms, her head against my chest. I could feel her heart beating rapidly, and her warm breath on my skin. It was...distracting, to say the least.

As we arrived at the mansion, my servant, Jenkins, greeted me with a bow. "Welcome home, Master Alexander," he said, but I didn't respond. I was too focused on the girl in my arms.

I carried her to one of the guest rooms, one that I knew had a fully stocked first aid kit. I laid her down on the bed and began to tend to her wound, my movements efficient and precise.

But despite my focus on her injury, I made sure to keep my face emotionless. I didn't want to show her any weakness, any sign of concern. I was a vampire lord, after all. I had to maintain my composure.

As I cleaned and bandaged her wound, she looked up at me with a mixture of gratitude and wariness. I could sense her uncertainty, her wondering why I was helping her. But I didn't say a word. I just kept my eyes on her injury, my expression neutral.

Only when I finished did I look up at her, my gaze meeting hers for a brief moment. Then I turned and left the room, leaving her to make an important phone call.

I left the room, my mind already turning to the implications of the werewolf attack and the girl's presence in my home. I needed to speak with my advisor, Valois, and get to the bottom of this.

I called Valois and summoned an urgent meeting at my house, then called my driver to bring the other car. I walked back into the room. " can you walk?" My voice was firm, devoid of any emotion. I didn't care about her well-being, only that she was off my property.

She stood up, testing her weight on her injured knee. She winced slightly, but then nodded, her face set in a determined expression. "I can walk a little," she said, her voice firm.

I nodded curtly, then gestured for her to follow me. I didn't offer any support or assistance, simply expecting her to keep up. She did, her movements slow but steady.

As we walked out of the room, down the hallway, and to the entrance of the mansion, I didn't glance back at her. I didn't need to. I knew she was following. My mind was already turning to the matters at hand - the werewolf attack, the potential threats to my domain.

I opened the door for her, and she walked out into the night. The cool breeze swept in, carrying the scent of damp earth and leaves. I watched her for a moment, ensuring she was off my property. My driver helped her into the car then she looked back at me,smiled and waved, her eyes searching for something. But I didn't give her anything. No emotion, no comfort. Just a cold, hard stare.

Then, I turned and went back inside, closing the door behind me. I didn't bother to watch her leave, didn't care if she made it home safely. She was nothing to me, just a human who had stumbled into my world.

I went back to my study, my mind already turning to the meeting with Valois. I needed to know what was going on, why the werewolves had attacked. And I needed to know now.

I stood up, my movements swift and decisive. I had a lot to do, and not a lot of time to waste. I left the study, heading to the meeting with Valois.
