Chapter 7 - CHAPTER SEVEN

Emilia pov

That night, I fell into a deep sleep, my mind still reeling from the events of the day. But as I slept, I had the most strange and vivid dream.

In the dream, I saw a man I had never seen before. He was sitting at the head of a long, ornate table, surrounded by others who seemed to be listening intently to what he was saying. His eyes seemed to gleam in the dim light, and his voice was low and commanding.

He was tall and imposing, with piercing amber eyes and jet-black hair. His features were chiseled and strong, and he exuded an aura of power and authority.

But as I watched, the scene shifted and changed. The table disappeared, and I found myself in a vast, open arena. The ground was sandy and rough, and the air was thick with the smell of blood and sweat.

And then, I saw them. Men, transforming into wolves before my very eyes. Their bodies contorted and twisted, their limbs shortening and their senses growing sharper. They snarled and snapped, their eyes glowing yellow in the dark.

They began to fight, their bodies clashing in a flurry of teeth and claws. I watched in horror as they tore into each other, their growls and snarls filling the air.

But then, I saw the man again. He was standing at the edge of the arena, watching the fight with a cold, calculating gaze. His amber eyes seemed to bore into my soul, and I felt a shiver run down my spine.

As I continued to dream, the scene shifted again. I saw a woman, lying on a bed, surrounded by candles and strange symbols etched into the walls. She was screaming in agony, and I realized she was giving birth.

As the baby emerged, I saw that its eyes were white, completely devoid of color. It was a chilling sight, and I felt a shiver run down my spine.

But as I watched, a figure appeared, cloaked in shadows. They reached out and took the baby, pulling it away from the mother's arms. The woman screamed, reaching out for her child, but it was too late.

The figure vanished into the darkness, taking the baby with them. I felt a sense of horror and loss, as if I was witnessing something truly terrible.

And then, I woke up. My heart was racing, and my sheets were damp with sweat. It felt so real, like I had actually witnessed the birth and the baby being taken away. I couldn't shake the feeling of unease, and the image of the baby's white eyes lingered in my mind long after I woke up.

I tried to tell myself it was just a dream, but the memory of it felt so vivid, so real. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was trying to tell me something, but I had no idea what.

I couldn't concentrate in class, my mind still reeling from the vivid dream I had the night before. The image of the man turning into wolves, the baby with white eyes, and the feeling of horror and loss lingered in my mind.

As soon as recess arrived, I grabbed my backpack and headed to the library. I had a feeling that there was something more to the dream, something that I needed to uncover.

I scanned the shelves, searching for any book that might hold the answers I was looking for. I passed by rows of fiction novels, biographies, and textbooks, until I finally stumbled upon a section dedicated to mythology and folklore.

I ran my fingers over the spines of the books, feeling a thrill of excitement as I read the titles. "The Legend of the Werewolf", "Shape-Shifters in Ancient Cultures", "The Mythology of the Full Moon".

I pulled out a book with a worn leather cover and opened it, blowing off the dust. The pages were yellowed and crackling, but the words within spoke directly to my soul.

I read about the ancient legends of shape-shifters, of humans who could transform into wolves and back again. I read about the full moon, and its power to unlock the secrets of the universe.

And then, I saw it. A passage that made my heart skip a beat.

"In some cultures, the ability to shape-shift is not just a gift, but a curse. A sign of darkness and chaos, of a power that cannot be controlled."

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I read the words. Was this what my dream was trying to tell me? Was I somehow connected to this ancient power?
