Wade noticed that the entire school seemed to be talking about the upcoming Inter-School Magic Tournament. Many students, frustrated by knowing nothing about the other schools, had rushed to the library early in the morning to borrow books.
Books related to foreign wizarding schools quickly became scarce resources. Those who managed to borrow them—or who already knew something—instantly became the center of attention.
This phenomenon was especially obvious during lunch.
"My cousin goes to Beauxbatons," said a Ravenclaw girl casually. "The students there are elegant and well-mannered, and forest nymphs sing serenades while they dine."
A student nearby sighed with envy, "The last time someone sang at our school… wasn't it that Halloween when Professor Dumbledore invited that skeleton band?"
How could a bunch of bony skeletons compare to beautiful girls from the forest?
Someone else chimed in, "Did you forget? Professor Lockhart once hired dwarves to sing all over the school for Valentine's Day. I remember you even got a card."
The first student clutched his head in mock agony. "Ugh, now I feel even worse remembering that!"
Others were excitedly talking about Uagadou.
"I heard a lot of their students can turn into leopards and elephants at will," said a freckled boy confidently. "That magazine claiming there are only seven Animagi in the world? Completely wrong. Uagadou students all learn to become Animagi."
A nearby classmate objected, "Maybe they aren't using Animagus magic at all? I doubt the Ministry of Magic would make such a dumb mistake."
"If you ask me, Durmstrang is the best school," someone declared. "They treat magic more fairly and even allow open study of the Dark Arts…"
Over at the long table, a few Slytherin boys were huddled together and discussing animatedly.
Students from the other houses clearly looked displeased—after all, not even every Slytherin student was eager about Dark Magic.
Suddenly, a girl's voice rang out: "I heard Mr. Grindelwald used to study at Durmstrang too, but he was expelled… What did he get expelled for?"
Wade and his friends all turned their heads. The speaker was Astoria, Daphne's younger sister.
The boys who had just been praising Durmstrang immediately fell silent. Some looked awkward, while others glared at her with visible annoyance.
When Grindelwald had first broken out of prison, the newspapers had already gone over his history—he'd been expelled from Durmstrang because even they couldn't tolerate his "twisted experiments."
But Astoria didn't look at anyone. She simply wore an innocent, puzzled expression, as if she truly didn't know the reason.
Daphne hastily shoved a piece of pudding into her mouth and snapped, "You know what your biggest problem is? You have a mouth!"
"Haha." Michael couldn't hold back a laugh. He turned to Wade and whispered, "I've always thought Astoria was more entertaining than her sister."
"Mmm… maybe so…" Wade murmured, taking a sip of pumpkin juice. He used the cup to hide the faint twitch at the corner of his mouth, and his eyes quickly swept the staff table.
Moody wasn't there.
Wade recalled the way Moody had looked when talking to his parents about Grindelwald—so alert, guarded, even faintly fearful. As if Grindelwald were some abyssal demon, ready at any moment to emerge and devour the entire wizarding world.
If Moody overheard students casually talking about that man in such a flippant tone, he'd probably use the next Defense Against the Dark Arts class to give them a brutal lesson—something to show them the price of underestimating your enemy.
Just then, Anthony came up beside Wade and said, "I've already secured an empty classroom, Wade. When are you free?"
"So fast?" Michael asked in surprise. "Didn't we have class all morning?"
"I stayed behind after Transfiguration and asked Professor McGonagall," Anthony explained. "She was really pleased to hear about our plan and approved a former student club's activity room for us."
"What about that club?" Ryan asked, tilting his head. "Did they move somewhere else?"
"No," Anthony said. "It was a club students formed a long time ago. After all the members graduated, no new ones ever joined. It's been defunct for ages—only the sign on the door was never taken down."
After all, aside from the main castle, the school had plenty of towers and auxiliary buildings, and the student population had never been large enough to require use of every area. Many places remained closed off or even hidden.
Anthony added, "This evening, I'm going to bring a few people to clean the place up. It'll be ready by tomorrow morning at the latest."
After saying this, he looked at Wade with expectant eyes.
Wade said, "My regular schedule is packed, and when I'm not in class, I have to study alchemy. So the tutoring sessions can only be on Tuesdays and Fridays. The time…"
He hesitated for a moment, and the words lingered on his tongue before he finally said: "Let's go with 7 to 9 p.m. after dinner."
"Great, then we'll start tomorrow!" Anthony said excitedly. "I'll go gather people now!"
He dashed off in a hurry, and Michael stared at Wade in surprise.
Wade sighed. "Your suggestion was a good one, but…"
…
Wade didn't enjoy dealing with too many people either. He liked Michael's idea of using early mornings as a filter to weed out the unserious. It made perfect sense.
But after returning to the dorm last night, Delaine contacted him. He updated him on the vampire Gale's situation and asked about his recent plans. Wade also casually mentioned the tutoring idea.
And just as he was about to fall asleep, he received a communication from Grindelwald.
"Delaine told me," Grindelwald said directly. "Wade, I hear you're planning to start a… spell tutoring class at school?"
Wade frowned. He disliked others interfering in his personal life—especially someone as domineering as Grindelwald.
However, he reminded himself of the powerful spells Grindelwald had taught him and the times the Alliance had helped him. That thought calmed him down again.
"Yes, I am," Wade explained patiently. "It's not too much trouble for me—just three or four hours a week at most. Plus, I can set strict rules. Anyone who can't handle it will quit on their own."
From the communication bean came a soft chuckle.
"Wade, your time is valuable. Every action should have a clear purpose… So tell me—what do you hope to gain from this tutoring?" Grindelwald asked calmly.
