"I could," she replied, her lips curling into a seductive grin. "But you're unique. I don't want to destroy you—just be my consort, and you'll be king above many." She caressed his cheek gently, her crimson eyes gleaming.
"I'm not as fragile as you think," Alex said, his voice low. In a blur, he spun and kicked her in the side. The impact sent a ripple through her, but instead of pain, she laughed softly, the sound like silk over steel.
"Oh, you strike, too," she murmured, amused. Her eyes shimmered, shifting into deep shades of crimson and violet. "You're a good one… finally, I've found my human."
"Human?" Alex scoffed, straightening.
She smiled wider. "Yes, my dear husband-to-be. But first, I have to take you."
She pushed forward suddenly, her movements faster than lightning. Alex raised his hand, catching her strike mid-air, but the pressure made the ground crack beneath him. Her claws gleamed like razors, dancing with a thin sheen of blood energy.
"You strike fast," Alex said, his tone tightening as he forced her back. "But not greater than me."
"Oh? Then show me."
Her form blurred—and then she attacked again, her movements wild, graceful, and deadly. The air itself seemed to bleed as her crimson blades clashed against Alex's aura of darkness.
Alex's eyes glowed brighter, the darkness around him pulsing like a living thing. He didn't dodge—he met her strike head-on. Every blade that should have cut him simply dissolved into his aura, sparks of red-black energy scattering as if the air itself rejected her attack.
She grinned, tilting her head. "Interesting… I've never faced someone who could take that." Her claws flashed again, faster this time, slicing at impossible angles. Each movement left faint streaks of crimson light in the air.
Alex shifted, his hand sweeping outward. A wave of shadow erupted from him, pushing her back with enough force to bend steel railings on the deck. But she didn't fall. She hovered mid-air, laughing softly, the storm around them whipping violently as if the ocean itself responded to their battle.
"You could have destroyed me," she said, her movements smooth, almost feline as she glided around another of his strikes. "But you're holding back… Why?"
Alex's smirk deepened, eyes glowing brighter with twin hues—crimson and gold, darkness and light in fragile balance. "I don't need to destroy you… not yet."
His aura shifted—darkness and radiance twining together like living serpents. Red-black energy burned beneath a mantle of soft golden light. The storm dimmed for a heartbeat, as though the heavens themselves hesitated before that paradox.
Her expression changed—curiosity and hunger mixing in her gaze. "So you do possess dual authority… light and shadow. How delicious."
Alex raised his hand, and the red threads burst outward, joined by faint golden arcs. The fusion crackled, neither dark nor bright—pure control. "Let's test how much you can endure."
She smiled, fangs glinting in the half-light. "Then I'll make you use everything."
In an instant, she lunged—her speed blurring the rain into silver lines. Alex met her head-on, darkness and light roaring to life around him. When they clashed, it wasn't just power—it was creation and destruction colliding. The deck split open, metal twisting, waves rising like walls on either side.
Lightning struck, caught in the gravitational pull of their battle, freezing midair in fractal patterns before shattering into sparks.
Every movement mirrored perfection—her strikes were feral elegance, his responses cold precision. She fought with instinct and grace; he countered with authority and will. For the first time since his evolution, Alex felt something rare—resistance.
The storm itself seemed to bend around them, torn between shadow and radiance. Neither gained ground. Neither yielded.
Alex exhaled slowly, a faint grin tugging at his lips. "You're different. The first one who can truly keep up."
She smirked, blood aura flickering like a thousand beating hearts. "And you're the first to make me fight for real."
The air cracked again as they vanished from sight, only to reappear midair—her claws clashing with his aura-forged blade of condensed light and void.
Each impact was a thunderclap. Each breath was a test of dominance.
Their clash shook the storm. Every strike sent shockwaves through the rain, scattering water like glass. Thunder rolled endlessly, and the ocean below churned into massive waves.
Alex and the vampire moved faster than the eye could follow. Her claws left streaks of crimson in the air, while his darkness shifted and flickered like living shadows. Light glimmered faintly around him, but he didn't use it to attack—only to balance the shadows, to control them.
They collided again. The force threw them across the platform. Alex landed easily, boots sparking against the metal. She twisted in midair, black and red mist swirling like wings behind her, steadying herself.
They stared at each other—two forces of storm and darkness, equally matched.
"Impressive," she said softly, brushing a hand across her lip where a faint glow of blood lingered. "You're not just powerful… you're in control."
Alex's eyes narrowed. "Control is the only thing that matters. You should learn it before testing me again."
Her grin widened. "Or maybe I'll just break it."
She blurred and vanished into the rain. Alex turned sharply, but she was already behind him. Her claws slashed through the air, tearing at his afterimage. His shadows reacted, whipping around her, striking like living chains.
She hissed but recovered, lunging again. The deck of the platform groaned as their powers collided—shadow meeting bloodlight, neither giving way. Every strike cracked steel, every movement ripped through the storm.
Alex pressed forward, letting the darkness flow through him. He didn't need to force her back with light or fancy techniques—just the raw, coiling power of shadows.
Her laughter echoed over the wind. "You're strong… I finally have someone who can match me!"
Alex didn't answer. His eyes glowed, the shadows around him thickening, twisting, reaching. The storm itself seemed to bend around his presence.
She struck again, faster than ever. He blocked and countered with the darkness, pushing her back slightly, letting her feel his true strength.
"You can heal," he said, calm but firm. "But you can't beat me tonight."
Her blood aura flared, crimson light spilling like fire. "Then I'll push you until you do."
