Elora wiped her mouth clean and stood up, ignoring the stares from Thorn and Kyros. She left the room in long strides.
Thorn shoved his chair back, the sharp scrape echoing through the room as he hurried after Elora.
Kyros gazed absentmindedly at her retreating back before turning away from his untouched food. He was too ashamed to face Elora and lacked the cure for the plague the church was about to unleash on the kingdom.
He attempted to communicate with some of his people in the sky city, but was unsuccessful. The elders had raised the protective barrier over Sky City, preventing entry or exit, and blocking all messages from passing through.
"Hh…what am I going to do?" Kyros muttered with a helpless sigh.
Thorn, on the other hand, walked beside Elora as they headed toward the study. "Your Majesty, is something troubling you?" he asked cautiously, aware of the tension between Kyros and her back in the dining room.
