The next morning.
After narrowly escaping the attack of the mechanical beast, the convoy resumed its journey. Everyone was still immersed in the joy of surviving the ordeal.
The tense atmosphere from yesterday had completely dissipated, and people were now eagerly discussing the events that had transpired.
The terrifying strength displayed by that mysterious expert had left a deep impression on them.
"Haha! That Ground Serpent Mechanical Beast was as pathetic as a knocked-out snake! That was satisfying to watch. We almost got killed, but seeing that fearsome Ground Serpent in such a miserable state made it all worth it. I'd like to see if the Gongshu Clan dares to be arrogant again!"
"That's all thanks to that senior's overwhelming power. The Ground Serpent Mechanical Beast was roughly at the level of a Third Grade Supreme, which means that senior must be at least a Fourth or even Fifth Grade Supreme."
"Tsk tsk, a Fifth Grade Supreme, huh? That's stronger than the head of our Luo Yang Yuchang branch clan. But from what I saw, that senior seems to specialize in thunder-based powers."
"Yeah, we were really lucky this time. It's just a shame we didn't get to see that senior in person. A Fifth Grade Supreme is a top-tier existence, even in the main clan."
"Stop dreaming. A true expert has their own pride. We should already be kneeling in gratitude that he was willing to lend us a hand."
Inside the carriage, Mo Yu listened to the heated discussions outside and couldn't help but shake his head. It was fortunate that he hadn't revealed himself.
As for Yuchang Fu, who had previously made things difficult for him, she had perished in last night's attack. Mo Yu felt nothing about it. If not for Yuchang Wan'er speaking up, he wouldn't have cared even if the entire Yuchang convoy was wiped out.
While Mo Yu was lost in thought, the carriage curtain was suddenly lifted. Yuchang Wan'er stepped inside, a timid smile on her delicate face. She respectfully handed him a water pouch and whispered, "S-Senior, thank you for saving us."
Perhaps because she had witnessed Mo Yu's terrifying strength firsthand, she now felt somewhat uneasy in his presence. Her small hands fidgeted, and her face showed a hint of nervousness.
Mo Yu took the water pouch, took a sip, and then looked at her with a smile. "You are my savior. What I did yesterday was merely repaying that debt, so there's no need to be so polite. Just call me Big Brother Mo Yu from now on."
Although Yuchang Wan'er was about the same age as his daughter, Mo Yu looked far too young for her to address him as an uncle or elder.
"Really?" Hearing this, Yuchang Wan'er's large eyes lit up with joy. When she saw Mo Yu nod, she immediately beamed. "Big Brother Mo Yu, thank you! If not for you, we would've all died at the hands of that Ground Serpent Mechanical Beast."
"Hehe, I already told you, no need to be so formal. You saved me first, so we're even." Mo Yu chuckled.
Yuchang Wan'er stuck out her pink tongue playfully and said shyly, "I didn't really do anything. Anyone would've helped after seeing you in that state, Big Brother Mo Yu."
Mo Yu simply smiled in response. She was too kind-hearted. What she didn't realize was that in the Great Thousand World, out of ten people, probably eight or nine would have ignored him. Yuchang Fu was a perfect example of that.
"Big Brother Mo Yu, what level is your strength? They all say you're stronger than our patriach. Is that true?" Now that she felt more comfortable with him, Yuchang Wan'er couldn't resist asking curiously.
"My strength, huh…" Mo Yu pondered for a moment before shaking his head. "I'm not sure myself. But your patriach… should be weaker than me."
"Oh? Big Brother Mo Yu doesn't even know his own strength?" Yuchang Wan'er murmured in confusion before smiling.
"But Big Brother Mo Yu is definitely a genius! My sister Ran has already surpassed many elders in the clan and is considered the number one genius of our Luo Yang Yuchang branch. But compared to you, she seems far inferior."
Mo Yu merely smiled at her words. It seemed that the terrifying experience in the forest last night had shaken her quite a bit, and now she was pouring out everything in one go. However, he didn't show any impatience toward her chattiness.
After nearly ten minutes of talking, Yuchang Wan'er finally stopped, though she still looked like she had more to say.
"Oh right, Big Brother Mo Yu, I have two thousand Spirit Power Pills here for you!" Suddenly, as if remembering something, she took off a green bracelet and handed it to him.
"Oh? Two thousand Spirit Power Pills? Where did you get so many?" Mo Yu raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Given Yuchang Wan'er's status, she shouldn't have access to such a large quantity of Spirit Power Pills.
Hearing his question, Yuchang Wan'er's expression dimmed, her eyes turning slightly red as she spoke in a low tone. "These were left behind by Sister Fu and the others. Sister Ran said that since they've fallen in battle, rather than burying their belongings, it would be better for us to use them."
"I didn't want to take them at first, but then I thought Big Brother Mo Yu might need them, so I gathered all the Spirit Power Pills from their belongings. There are exactly two thousand."
Seeing her saddened expression, Mo Yu sighed softly. This girl was too kind-hearted. Yuchang Fu hadn't treated her well at all, yet she still grieved for her.
"Alright, Wan'er, the dead can't come back. Let it go." Mo Yu patted her shoulder in comfort.
"How long until we reach the Yuchang main clan's territory?" Wanting to change the subject, he asked.
"If everything goes smoothly, we should arrive at Xiong Bing City in about four or five days," Yuchang Wan'er estimated.
"Four or five days, huh…" Mo Yu muttered to himself, secretly feeling relieved. In that time, his injuries should be mostly healed.
The city would undoubtedly be filled with powerful individuals. If he didn't recover soon, he might run into trouble. After all, in any place, only strength granted the right to speak and the ability to protect oneself.
Once he arrived at Xiong Bing City, he planned to gather information. If possible, he would aim to break through to the Di Zun realm. That way, even if he encountered unexpected dangers, he would still have the strength to protect himself.
Unaware of Mo Yu's thoughts, Yuchang Wan'er chatted with him for a while longer before excusing herself from the carriage.
The convoy continued south along the main road, steadily making its way toward Xiong Bing City.
During the journey, since Yuchang Fu, who had always found Mo Yu an eyesore, was no longer around, no one else bothered him much. This allowed him to rest and recover in peace.
After some time, the convoy gradually came to a stop. Mo Yu opened his eyes and glanced at the sky, knowing that they were once again preparing to set up camp.
Having learned from the previous nighttime assault by the Gongshu Clan, the Yuchang Clan's convoy remained cautious along the journey.
After a day of recuperation and consuming a significant amount of spirit pills, Mo Yu's injuries had mostly healed, and his strength was rapidly recovering.
When the convoy came to a stop, Mo Yu lifted the carriage curtain and stepped out. Having been confined in the carriage all day, it was refreshing to breathe in the open air.
As he exited, he carried some tent frames toward the campsite that Yuchang Wan'er and the others had chosen.
However, after taking a few steps, he caught a faint, delicate fragrance drifting from ahead. He paused, lifted his head, and saw Yuchang Ran standing there. Meeting her gaze, he smiled and nodded.
Yuchang Ran stood gracefully atop some scattered rocks, her beautiful eyes fixed on the young man before her. Every move he made exuded an extraordinary air, far from that of an ordinary person.
His features were strikingly handsome, and even someone as composed as she couldn't help but take a few extra glances.
Their eyes met, and Yuchang Ran was momentarily stunned. The young man's silver eyes, eerily enchanting, did not show the usual unease or avoidance that others displayed upon seeing her. Instead, they held only a tranquil smile, as calm as a deep thunderous abyss, without the slightest ripple.
"Miss Ran, is something the matter?" Mo Yu asked with a faint smile as he noticed Yuchang Ran's unwavering gaze.
At his words, Yuchang Ran's eyelashes trembled slightly. Then, under the surprised gazes of those around them, she slowly extended her jade-like hand and grasped Mo Yu's arm. A probing stream of spiritual energy immediately surged into his body.
Mo Yu's expression remained unchanged as he sensed the energy. With a mere thought, his own spiritual power dispersed throughout his meridians.
The energy flowed through his body but found nothing unusual, and it eventually returned to Yuchang Ran. Only then did she slowly withdraw her hand, a trace of disappointment flashing in her eyes.
It seemed that her inexplicable suspicions had indeed been baseless. She had found nothing out of the ordinary within Mo Yu's body.
"It's nothing." Yuchang Ran shook her head before glancing at the tent frames he carried on his shoulder. "Your injuries aren't light. You should rest more instead of working."
"Heh, no need. I may be injured, but I'm no cripple." Mo Yu chuckled and shook his head before carrying the tent frames past Yuchang Ran, heading toward Yuchang Wan'er and the others.
Tilting her head slightly, Yuchang Ran watched his tall and slender figure fade into the distance. A self-mocking smile crossed her lips—how could she have such unrealistic thoughts?
Judging from appearances, Mo Yu was about her age. Even if he were a cultivation prodigy, reaching the strength of a Fifth Grade Supreme at such an age would be nearly impossible.
"It really must have been just a stroke of luck..."
That night was far quieter than before.
The camp remained peaceful, with only the occasional crackling of the fire breaking the silence. Outside, patrols moved about in the darkness, keeping watch over their surroundings.
Inside a simple tent, Mo Yu sat cross-legged, consuming spirit pills one after another, refining them into surging spiritual energy.
At the same time, strands of energy from the surrounding heavens and earth flowed toward him, drawn in through his breathing, merging into his body.
As the dou qi converted, his spiritual energy steadily increased, and a sense of strength gradually returned to his body.
This cultivation session lasted for a long time. By the time the first light of dawn broke on the horizon, Mo Yu slowly opened his eyes, a flicker of joy flashing within them.
"You look like you've almost recovered," came a voice. Wind Emperor had appeared at some point, looking at Mo Yu with a faint smile.
"Heh, senior Wind Emperor has keen eyes. I'd say I'm about eighty to ninety percent recovered—just half a step away from regaining my peak," Mo Yu said as he stretched.
"Oh? Eighty to ninety percent? That's already quite fast. With your strength, it's more than enough to traverse Myriad Weapons Region. But from the looks of it, you still haven't broken through to the Earthly Supreme realm," Wind Emperor remarked as he stroked his beard.
Mo Yu nodded. "I feel like I've reached the peak of the Supreme realm, but taking that final step forward is still beyond my grasp."
"Haha, your conversion speed is already impressive. When I first arrived in the Great Thousand World, it took me a full month just to convert my dou qi into spiritual energy," Wind Emperor laughed. "Compared to you, I truly feel ashamed. No wonder you're known as the renowned Thunder Emperor of the Dou Qi Continent.
I have no doubt that you and your cousin, the Flame Emperor, will make a name for yourselves in the Great Thousand World. After all, in this era where origin qi has been absent for ten thousand years, the two of you carved your paths purely through battle."
Thinking back to Mo Yu and Xiao Yan's rise on the Dou Qi Continent, Wind Emperor couldn't help but offer words of praise.
"Senior Wind Emperor flatters me..." Mo Yu responded humbly. Then, as if recalling something, he turned to Wind Emperor and said, "After these past few days of recovery, my strength has nearly returned. Soon, we'll reach the Yuchang Clan's main clan, where we might be able to gather some information on other regions."
He paused before continuing, "My next goal is to prepare for your resurrection, senior. However, I need to know—where exactly is your body in the Great Thousand World?"
"My body, huh..." Wind Emperor fell silent, his old eyes flickering with nostalgia. After a long pause, he exhaled lightly and chuckled. "Heh, after all these years, the thought of resurrection feels almost unreal. Forgive me, little friend..."
"Heh, I understand, senior. But rest assured, I promised to revive you, and I always keep my word. Even if your body lies in a sea of blades and fire, I will retrieve it for you," Mo Yu said calmly, his handsome face unwavering.
Wind Emperor did not doubt his words. After all, throughout their time together on the Dou Qi Continent, he had come to admire Mo Yu's character.
Hearing Mo Yu's question, Wind Emperor narrowed his aged eyes before speaking slowly.
"My body is stored in the distant Skylaw Continent—one of the super continents of the Great Thousand World..."
