I was knocked out cold inside that swirling black smoke. So, I wasn't alarmed when I opened my eyes again and saw an unfamiliar place. I was rather surprised that I wasn't tied.
I expected to be dragged in a cell, tied to a metal chair, or maybe hanged on the wall, but this?
A very long table that spanned more than eight meters, which was filled with food, desserts, and appetizers, huge platters of different delicacies, with some flowers and lit candles for decoration. There were three chandeliers above, with small fires flickering in the candles, adding brightness to the table.
But there were only two seats.
I was occupying one. I was seated here the moment I woke up.
At the other end of the table, there was a person sitting in the other chair. But with the distance, the dim lighting, and the shadow of the massive pillar cast over that spot, I could barely see a face.
Only half of his chest was what I could make of.
