Chapter 460 - Chapter 460: Wu Jun, The Ancient Ruins of Ten Thousand Serpent Island

Chapter 460: Wu Jun, The Ancient Ruins of Ten Thousand Serpent Island

Crash!

Wu Mang flew through the air like a cannonball, crashing violently into the tent. The sheer force exploded outward, tearing the tent into countless fragments, which floated gently to the ground.

Seeing the ruthlessness of the silver-eyed youth's attack, the strong warriors of the Wu Tail Clan from the Sea Tribe were all stunned into silence. No one dared to shout or protest.

"You Shui family, how dare you!"

As the tent burst apart, those inside were momentarily stunned by Mo Yu's actions. Moments later, a furious roar filled with killing intent echoed across the sky.

By now, the outskirts of Ten Thousand Serpent Island were packed with people. Crowds gathered everywhere, and many had already noticed the Shui family's intimidating arrival. Expecting drama, when this enraged voice rang out, the sky was soon filled with onlookers.

In the blink of an eye, figures appeared around the mountain, watching closely. As their eyes fell on the now-ruined tent, surprise flickered in their gazes.

Although the Wu Tail Clan ranked at the bottom among the eight branches of the Sea Tribe, they were still a considerable force in the South Sea Region—stronger than the declining Shui family.

Most people had assumed that the Shui family wouldn't dare make a move in retaliation, but here they were, taking bold action. Naturally, this stirred up curiosity and surprise.

Many of the onlookers also recalled the rumors about the Shui family securing a powerful outside ally, which only increased their intrigue.

Ignoring the growing crowd, Mo Yu and the Shui family remained focused on the scene before them.

Standing at the site of the destroyed tent was a tall man clad in black armor adorned with sea-like patterns. His expression was dark, and a massive black tail behind him swayed like a spear, causing the very air to tremble slightly.

This man was none other than Wu Jun, the current leader of the Wu Tail Clan and a powerful Dou Zun.

"You there! Who are you, and why have you barged into the Wu Tail Clan's camp, injuring my people?" Wu Jun's eyes briefly flicked over Qingzhi before settling on Mo Yu at the center, his tone low and dangerous.

Until now, Wu Jun had been unsure about the rumors of the Shui family securing outside help. But after seeing this, he began to believe them. Still, despite the possibility that the Shui family had a powerful backer, Wu Jun couldn't back down easily, especially not in front of so many onlookers.

"Heh, I am Mo Yu, currently a guest of the Shui family. As for why I injured your people…" Mo Yu smirked playfully. "Perhaps Wu Clan Leader has a poor memory. This camp clearly belongs to the Shui family, so how did it suddenly become the Wu Tail Clan's?"

Hearing this, Wu Jun's face twitched slightly, but he quickly regained his composure, responding coldly, "Hmph! This place may have once belonged to the Shui family, but when I arrived, it had long been abandoned. Since the Shui family lacks the strength to maintain it, we of the Wu Tail Clan took it. What's wrong with that? If you leave now, I can let bygones be bygones. But if you insist on this foolishness, don't blame me for being ruthless!"

Wu Jun's brow furrowed as he eyed Mo Yu cautiously. The youth's identity was still unclear, and the Dou Zun-level expert following him only added to the uncertainty.

"Brother, we can't let them go unpunished!" wheezed Wu Mang, still gravely injured, glaring at the Shui family with hatred.

"Silence!" Wu Jun barked.

If it were the old, weakened Shui family, taking action for Wu Mang's sake would have been no problem. But now, with the Shui family gaining strong allies, he couldn't afford to act rashly.

Seeing Wu Jun scold his brother, Wu Mang shot Mo Yu a venomous glare, but said nothing more.

"Wu Clan Leader, I think it's you who should be the one to retreat," Mo Yu said, shaking his head.

Wu Jun's face darkened. "So you refuse to leave peacefully, huh? No matter who you are, if you insist on opposing the Wu Tail Clan, I'll show you no mercy!"

Clearly irritated by Mo Yu's refusal, Wu Jun unleashed his fearsome aura, flooding the area like a tidal wave and shaking the very air.

"I'll say it one more time—leave now, and I'll let it slide. Otherwise…"

Before he could finish, Qingzhi, who stood behind Mo Yu, took a step forward. A massive surge of energy erupted from him, instantly overpowering Wu Jun's aura and scattering it completely.

"Damn it! He's really a Dou Zun! Who is this guy?" Wu Jun's heart sank, his expression growing even darker as he sensed Qingzhi's overwhelming power.

On the side, Mo Yu, observing the clash between Qingzhi and Wu Jun, narrowed his eyes slightly. Though he had yet to reach the Dou Zun level, he could still gauge the situation.

While Qingzhi had only recently become a Dou Zun, his mastery of the Ice Venerable Technique had improved significantly. Combined with his control over the Ice Soul Lightning, Qingzhi's strength was now comparable to a peak one-star Dou Zun, not much weaker than Tian Shuangzi, the ice elder Mo Yu had once faced.

Wu Jun, also a one-star Dou Zun, was formidable, but the South Sea Region's heritage was a bit lacking compared to the powerhouse Dou Zuns of Zhongzhou. Thus, in a direct comparison, Wu Jun seemed weaker.

On the mountaintop, the two powerful auras clashed like entangled dragons, creating intense pressure that bolstered the Shui family's morale while leaving the Wu Tail Clan's warriors pale and struggling to breathe.

Shui Ling, awestruck by the display, was unable to hide his joy. For years, the Shui family had lacked a Dou Zun since the passing of their previous patriarch, causing their decline. But now, with this powerful external ally, their position among the Five Great Families seemed secure once more.

The sudden surge of energy also caused quite a commotion among the onlookers, who were shocked to realize that the quiet man standing behind Mo Yu was a Dou Zun-level expert. The rumors of the Shui family's newfound powerful ally were clearly true.

Some of the smaller factions, who had hoped to seize the Shui family's spot among the Five Great Families, could only sigh in disappointment.

After all, being one of the Five Great Families not only proved one's strength but also granted access to Ten Thousand Serpent Island. It was said that within the island lay ancient treasures and inheritances, and many of the current top families had risen to power thanks to the secrets hidden there.

Among these families, the strongest—the Xuan family—never missed an opportunity to enter the island whenever it opened.

"So, Wu Clan Leader, what's your decision? Will you return the Shui family's camp, or not?" Mo Yu asked, crossing his arms casually.

Wu Jun's face was as dark as a storm. His eyes bore into Mo Yu before he finally gritted his teeth and said, "Hmph, we'll see how strong your Shui family really is in the upcoming tournament!"

With that, he turned sharply and stormed down the mountain path, his face twisted with suppressed rage.

The defeated warriors of the Wu Tail Clan followed him, dejected and ashamed, as they gathered their belongings and retreated like a pack of beaten dogs.

As Wu Mang passed by Mo Yu, he paused, his disfigured face twisting in hatred. "Don't get too comfortable, Mo Yu. The Wu Tail Clan will make you pay for this!"

"I'll be waiting," Mo Yu replied with a smile.

"Hmph!" Wu Mang sneered before turning away, leaving with a venomous glare aimed at the Shui family.

Watching the Wu Tail Clan retreat in disgrace, the Shui family erupted in cheers, their gazes filled with respect and admiration for Mo Yu. He had not only helped them regain their camp but had restored their pride. At that moment, they realized how wise they had been to invite Mo Yu as their ally.

"Phew…"

Both Shui Muqing and Shui Muxue, who had been tense throughout the confrontation, finally exhaled in relief. They exchanged glances before sneaking a look at Mo Yu, impressed by his calm demeanor even when facing someone as powerful as Wu Jun.

"Let's set up the tents," Mo Yu said with a smile.

"Yes, sir!"

The Shui family members responded in unison, quickly dispersing to restore the camp. Their respectful and coordinated reaction made it seem as if Mo Yu were their clan leader rather than an outsider.

Seeing this, the Shui sisters exchanged a wry smile. It was as though Mo Yu had seamlessly taken over the role of head of the family. Yet, despite this, they couldn't help but feel a sense of security with him by their side.

As the commotion on the mountaintop finally died down, the onlookers dispersed, disappointed that no major battle had occurred. However, they all now understood one thing: the Shui family's position among the Five Great Families was secure for the time being.

Why only for the time being? Because Mo Yu and Qingzhi were external allies. If they ever parted ways with the Shui family, or if Qingzhi left, the Shui family could once again fall into danger.

"Mo Yu, while we managed to drive off the Wu Tail Clan today, they won't let this go easily. We'll need to be cautious," Shui Muqing reminded him softly.

"Hmm." Mo Yu nodded. "But for now, my priority is obtaining a spot to enter Ten Thousand Serpent Island. If the Wu Tail Clan tries to interfere, we won't hesitate to deal with them."

Hearing the cold glint in Mo Yu's words, Shui Muqing could only nod in agreement.

"I'm not too worried about the Wu Tail Clan. Among the Sea Tribe's eight branches, they rank seventh, and in the last tournament, they only ranked thirteenth. They shouldn't pose too much of a threat in securing a spot on Ten Thousand Serpent Island. But the Wu Tail Clan has ties to the Blood Fang Clan, one of the top three branches. If they intervene…" Shui Muqing trailed off.

"Then we'll deal with it when the time comes," Mo Yu said confidently, his eyes narrowing as he gazed toward the center of the island.

His mind was focused. If Ten Thousand Serpent Island truly held the key to reviving Snake Uncle, then everything else was secondary. Nothing would stand in his way.

"That direction should be where the ancient ruins will appear," Shui Muxue said quietly, following his gaze.

Mo Yu nodded, sensing a faint distortion in space in that area, suggesting that the ancient ruins were protected by a powerful barrier.

"There are many dangers within the ruins, including ancient undead guardians and strange traps. Even Dou Zun experts must tread carefully," Shui Cang, the blue-robed elder, cautioned from behind.

"The ancient ruins are sealed within the space. Occasionally, space cracks will appear, which is why all the top factions of the South Sea Region are stationed here—to guard against outsiders and to repair the cracks before the island collapses."

"Oh?" Mo Yu raised an eyebrow. It seemed that these ancient ruins had existed for quite some time.

No wonder even Elder Yao had urged him to come here. The key to Snake Uncle's revival must indeed lie on Ten Thousand Serpent Island.

Thinking of this, Mo Yu reached into his sleeve and touched the violet-gold scale given to him by Su Yao, the leader of Sound Valley. To his surprise, the normally cold scale now felt warm in his hand.

"The tournament on Ten Thousand Serpent Island will begin soon. Mo Yu, I suggest you rest for the next few days. Whether or not you secure a place on the island will depend on your performance," Shui Cang said earnestly.

Mo Yu nodded, scanning the lush, green mountains surrounding them.

With his heightened senses, he could detect several hidden, powerful auras, some so faint yet immense that even he was taken aback.

No wonder Ten Thousand Serpent Island attracted so many Dou Zun-level experts. The battle for spots on the island would certainly be fierce.
