Chapter 459 - Chapter 459: The Wu Tail Clan of the Sea Tribe

Chapter 459: The Wu Tail Clan of the Sea Tribe

"What? Our camp has been taken over?"

Hearing what the middle-aged man in front of her said, Shui Muqing froze for a moment, her face darkening. Even the elderly man in blue robes beside her frowned and asked in a low voice, "Shui Ling, who did it?"

"It was the Wu Tail Clan of the Sea Tribe!" the middle-aged man, Shui Ling, responded angrily.

"The Wu Tail Clan of the Sea Tribe? Even though the Patriarch Po Hai has passed away, it seems they still harbor considerable animosity toward our Shui family," sighed the elderly man in blue robes.

As his words fell, the faces of Shui Muqing, her sister, and the other Shui family members darkened with a hint of frustration.

"What's the issue? Does the Wu Tail Clan have some unresolved grudge with the Shui family?" Mo Yu asked, raising an eyebrow.

Shui Muqing's face showed a mix of emotions, and she nodded. "Yes, the Shui family and the Wu Tail Clan do have a bit of a history. It all started with my father. Before he took on the role of clan leader, he traveled throughout the South Sea region. During his travels, he met my mother on an island near the Wu Tail Clan's territory, and the two fell in love and decided to spend their lives together. However, my mother was not only pursued by my father—Wu Mang from the Wu Tail Clan also had feelings for her.

"To take my mother for himself, Wu Mang set up an ambush for my parents on their way home. But he was no match for my father and ended up seriously injured and crippled. Wu Mang is the son of the previous leader of the Wu Tail Clan and the younger brother of the current leader, Wu Jun. Wu Mang's injury caused quite a stir back then. Although it wasn't entirely our Shui family's fault, we still apologized and compensated them heavily to resolve the issue.

"But who would have thought that after so many years, even after my father's passing, the Wu Tail Clan still remembers the grudge?"

As Shui Muqing explained, Mo Yu nodded, understanding the background of the conflict.

"Sigh, it can't be helped. Muqing, why don't you take some of the clan members and build a new camp? Although this area is on the outskirts of Ten Thousand Serpent Island, there's still plenty of open space," the elderly man in blue robes said, sighing.

Hearing this, Shui Muqing frowned but eventually nodded in resignation.

Building a new camp wasn't difficult for the Shui family, but having their original camp taken over without being able to fight back was another blow to the family's reputation, especially now that they were on the verge of losing their position among the Five Great Families.

"Uncle Shui Ling, go ahead and..." Shui Muqing began to give orders for setting up the new camp, but before she could finish, a voice interrupted her.

"How strong is the Wu Tail Clan?"

Shui Muqing was momentarily stunned before she softly answered, "The Wu Tail Clan is not particularly strong compared to the other eight branches of the Sea Tribe; they rank among the lower ones. If my father were still alive, they wouldn't dare provoke us like this. The strongest in the Wu Tail Clan is their current leader, Wu Jun, who is about a one-star Dou Zun."

"A one-star Dou Zun, huh…" Mo Yu stroked his chin, then smiled slightly. "In that case, there's no need to build a new camp. Let's just take back the old one."

"What... what did you say? Take it back?" Shui Ling froze in shock, and his expression turned sour. "Who are you, and why are you spouting such nonsense?"

As the person in charge of guarding the Shui family's camp on Ten Thousand Serpent Island, Shui Ling didn't know Mo Yu and assumed he was just a friend of the Shui sisters, which led to his anger.

Although Shui Ling was upset with the Wu Tail Clan's actions, he also understood that given the current state of the Shui family, attempting to reclaim the camp would be suicidal, playing right into the hands of the Wu Tail Clan.

While Shui Ling didn't understand and even felt enraged, those who had witnessed Mo Yu and Qingzhi's strength, including Shui Muqing, were excited. They knew all too well how powerful this silver-eyed youth was. However, when Shui Ling angrily lashed out at Mo Yu, they couldn't help but feel tense.

"Shui Ling, don't be rude! Mo Yu is a valued guest of the Shui family. How dare you speak to him like that! Apologize at once!" the elderly man in blue robes shouted angrily.

Shui Ling was stunned. He had a high position within the Shui family, so being ordered to apologize to a stranger shocked and angered him.

At that moment, a Shui family disciple quickly whispered something in Shui Ling's ear. Moments later, Shui Ling's expression changed to one of shock as he looked at Mo Yu. Through the disciple's whisper, Shui Ling had learned about Mo Yu's background—a powerful figure from Zhongzhou with strong connections, someone capable of aiding the Shui family!

Though Shui Ling found it hard to believe, when his eyes landed on the figure of Qingzhi standing behind Mo Yu, his heart sank.

A Dou Zun!

"Mr. Mo Yu, I didn't realize who you were. Please forgive my ignorance," Shui Ling said, bowing respectfully.

As a member of the Shui family, Shui Ling was relieved and even thrilled that Mo Yu could help them. Apologizing to someone with such a powerful background, even a young man like Mo Yu, was a small price to pay.

"Hehe, no offense taken," Mo Yu said with a smile. "Now, can you take me to the old Shui family camp? I'd like to have a look at the Wu Tail Clan."

"Of course!" Shui Ling responded solemnly, bowing once again before leading the way.

Following his lead, Shui Muqing, her sister, and a large group of Shui family disciples trailed behind, brimming with determination. Their sudden show of force drew curious stares from those around them.

Many who knew the situation followed closely behind, eager to see the drama unfold.

In the central part of the outskirts of Ten Thousand Serpent Island stood several towering peaks. Because of the proximity to the island's entrance, these prime spots had long been occupied by powerful forces. Smaller groups and lone experts had to make do with less desirable locations.

The area around the island was bustling with people, the noise of chatter and occasional arguments filling the air. With no central authority to maintain order, the outskirts were chaotic, with frequent brawls breaking out over trivial matters.

Atop one of the peaks, a large black flag bearing the bold characters "Wu Tail Clan" fluttered in the wind, exuding an air of arrogance.

However, those familiar with the area knew that this had once been the Shui family's camp, only to be seized by the Wu Tail Clan under dubious circumstances. Still, no one openly criticized the Wu Tail Clan for it.

On the continent, the law of the jungle prevailed—if the Shui family wasn't strong enough to hold the camp, they deserved to lose it.

Now, people were curious: After the tournament, would the Shui family even be able to retain their status as one of the Five Great Families?

The peak was dotted with black tents, from which the faint aura of strong individuals could be sensed. At the center of the camp stood an especially grand tent, surrounded by guards with stern expressions. Occasionally, laughter could be heard from inside the tent.

These guards were tall, with faint fish-like patterns on their faces. But what was most striking was the large, black tails trailing behind them, resembling the tails of crocodiles—heavy and exuding a sense of destructive power.

These were clearly members of the Wu Tail Clan from the Sea Tribe.

Suddenly, the flap of the central tent was pushed open, and a figure with a strong scent of alcohol stepped out. Like the others, this figure had a massive black tail, but his right side was disfigured, as though it had been corroded by acid, leaving behind a terrifying appearance.

The surrounding guards immediately bowed when they saw him.

"Elder Wu Mang."

"Hm," the figure grunted, acknowledging them with a nod. This was none other than Wu Mang, the Sea Tribe elder Shui Muqing had mentioned.

"So, what's the word on the Shui family? Do you think they'll try to reclaim their camp? If they do, I'll finally have a chance to settle the score for the injury they gave me years ago! If it weren't for the agreement between the Sea Tribe and the humans forbidding open conflict, the Shui family would have been wiped out when Shui Po Hai died," Wu Mang said coldly, glancing at the guards.

"Elder Wu Mang, there's still no news from the Shui family," one of the guards replied nervously, clearly unsettled by Wu Mang's disfigured face.

"Hmph, the Shui family really has fallen. But they can't run forever. One day, I'll see them destroyed!" Wu Mang spat, venting his hatred.

Just as Wu Mang turned to return to his tent, his brow furrowed. He heard a commotion coming from the path leading up the mountain.

"What's going on?" he asked, frowning.

"Don't worry, Elder Wu Mang. I'll go check it out," said a Wu Tail Clan expert, a Dou Huang level fighter. He quickly rushed down the mountain.

Boom!

Before Wu Mang could react, a dull thud rang out, followed by a scream. A figure shot back up the mountain path, crashing through several tents, which collapsed in a heap.

"Who dares cause trouble in the Wu Tail Clan's camp? Do you have a death wish!?"

The sight caused the Wu Tail Clan members to panic, and Wu Mang's expression grew dark.

"Seize them! Dead or alive!" Wu Mang roared.

In response, the Wu Tail Clan warriors sprang into action, charging down the mountain with murderous intent.

However, as soon as they charged down the path, a series of muffled crashes echoed out. Moments later, the warriors were sent flying back up the mountain, blood spraying as they crashed to the ground, groaning in pain.

Wu Mang's footsteps halted. His face darkened further, his expression growing serious. Whoever had managed to defeat his warriors so quickly was no ordinary opponent.

"Who dares trespass in the Wu Tail Clan's camp? This is Sea Tribe territory. I suggest you leave while you still can," Wu Mang called out, his voice cold and menacing.

"Hmph, Wu Mang! You seized our Shui family's camp and now have the audacity to claim it as your own? How shameless can you be?"

Before Wu Mang could finish speaking, an old but powerful voice drifted up from the mountain path.

A large group of people emerged from the shadows, and leading them was none other than the blue-robed elder Shui Cang. The sight of him left Wu Mang momentarily stunned.

"Shui Cang?!"

Wu Mang's expression immediately turned icy.

Years ago, it was Shui Po Hai of the Shui family who had humiliated him, crippling his body. Wu Mang hated the Shui family to his core, and he was all too familiar with Shui Cang.

"So, it's the remnants of the Shui family. You've come at the right time. This place will serve well as your graves!" Wu Mang sneered, his eyes flashing with murderous intent.

"You!"

Shui Cang's face turned livid, his eyes blazing with fury. Were it not for the fact that this was Mo Yu's fight, he might have attacked already.

On the other side, Wu Mang looked at the Shui family with bloodlust in his eyes, a savage grin spreading across his disfigured face. In the next moment, dark light flickered beneath his feet as he lunged toward Shui Cang.

As Wu Mang's figure disappeared, Mo Yu's calm face showed the slightest hint of amusement. He raised his hand and gave a slight wave.

At that moment, from within the Shui family ranks, a figure clad in icy white shot forward. This figure extended their hand, and with a gentle grasp, the space in front of Mo Yu collapsed inward like a vortex.

Within the collapsing space, Wu Mang reappeared, frozen in place, his face twisted in shock and terror.

To collapse space with a single gesture—this was a power only a Dou Zun could wield!

"Would the leader of the Wu Tail Clan, Wu Jun, care to explain why you've taken over the Shui family's camp?" Mo Yu asked coldly, his gaze fixed on the distant tent.

With a flick of his fingers, Wu Mang's body shot backward like a cannonball, crashing violently into the grand tent. The impact left onlookers stunned, their faces filled with disbelief.
