Chapter 794: The Inherited Blood of the Primordial Ancestral Ape
A vast tide of spiritual power surged from within the mountain cave, washing through the air like an overwhelming ocean. Under the astonished gazes of Han Yue, Mang Lie, and the others, two figures—a man tall and composed, and a woman graceful as a flame—slowly stepped out.
The group's eyes sharpened instantly.
At that precise moment, every one of them felt it—a powerful, suffocating pressure pouring from the pair.
"Half-step eighth-rank Supremes…" someone muttered in awe.
Cai Lin's breakthrough was expected—but Mo Yu? Only half a month ago, he had been a mere sixth-rank Supreme. In such a short time, he had leapt across boundaries others spent decades chasing.
Outside the cave, Mo Yu stood quietly as the wave of power subsided. The spiritual energy swirling around him dimmed, folding perfectly back into his body until none remained exposed.
He flexed his fingers slowly, feeling the vast strength coursing through his bones and blood. A satisfied smile appeared on his lips.
His cultivation had multiplied severalfold. Not only had his spiritual power grown denser and purer, but his physical body—already formidable—had been tempered to near perfection.
"If I fought that half-step ninth-rank Beast Spirit again," he thought coldly, "I wouldn't need an external weapon. My own strength would be enough."
His aura now brimmed with raw vitality and power. The fusion of his divine energy and physical might allowed him to rival even some full eighth-rank Supremes.
And should he face a ninth-rank one now… he'd no longer be helpless.
Yet, there was more to his gain than surface-level growth.
Behind Mo Yu, the air rippled. The vast Supreme Sea shimmered faintly—waves of spiritual power crashing against its shores.
At its deepest depths floated half of a translucent jade-white lotus seed, releasing gentle waves of vitality that flowed through his entire consciousness. The energy nourished and purified the sea, making the surrounding spirit waves increasingly refined.
Though Mo Yu lacked the strength to fully refine that half of the Nine Revolution Azure Lotus Seed, he had sealed it within his sea, letting it continuously exude that eternal life force to cultivate and sustain him.
It would become his hidden foundation.
Later, when he ascended to the ninth-rank Supreme and attempted to shatter the bottleneck to Earth Supreme, this lotus seed might prove to be the very key to success.
He was confident that Cai Lin, who possessed the other half, shared that same advantage. A smile crossed his face—he had lost nothing in sharing such fortune.
Exhaling, Mo Yu turned toward the horizon. "The first step is done. Now we move for the inner sanctum. Cai Lin's heritage lies ahead—the blood of the Ancient Swallowing Python. And perhaps…" His eyes gleamed. "Even the legacy of the Primordial Ancestral Ape."
"Let's go," he said softly.
Cai Lin's gaze met his; her aura, too, had stabilized. With a nod, she followed. Then, with a wave of his hand, Mo Yu led the group forward at full speed.
Half a day passed in a blur.
As they crossed deeper into the Divine Burial Grounds, the very air began to shift. The ground below changed from lifeless gray to patches of deep crimson—dark, pulsing streaks of blood-tinged earth. A faint, evil aura seeped out, stirring the energy in their meridians into restlessness.
Mo Yu stopped, motioning for the others to slow. His eyes focused ahead.
There, stretching across the horizon, hung a golden-red sky veil—a massive barrier that fell from the clouds to the land below, severing the world into two domains.
"Beyond that," he said solemnly, "is the inner sanctum of the Divine Burial Grounds."
Even a brief glance sent a pulse of awe through them all. The faint runes rotating within the light curtain carried profundity far beyond comprehension—clearly the work of an ancient grandmaster of spiritual arrays.
Cai Lin nodded slowly, her eyes narrowing. "Let's move."
Mo Yu surged forward, stopping just short of the glowing barrier. Infinite symbols gleamed across its surface, each radiating divine strength. With such a defense in place, even an Earth Supreme would find entry impossible by force.
But Mo Yu came prepared.
From his ring, he drew forth the heart of the half-step ninth-rank Beast Spirit. It throbbed faintly with lingering death energy.
He tossed it forward, letting its dark radiance drift nearer to the veil.
The golden barrier stirred. Ancient symbols flared, and from above, a single beam of light fell, enveloping the Beast Spirit's heart completely.
Then came a deep, resonating hum—
The barrier parted.
A narrow, glowing fissure tore open before them.
"Go."
Without hesitation, Mo Yu stepped through the rift. Cai Lin and the others followed right after.
The instant they crossed, a new world unfolded before their eyes.
The ground below was crimson as blood, stretching endlessly toward the horizon like an ocean of scarlet decay. The air was thick and heavy, trembling under a dormant fury.
The very earth felt alive—hungry.
Rising higher, they dared not touch down upon its surface. When they looked up, the sky burned in a strange, gold-red gleam. Powerful auras lingered there—echoes of divine beasts long dead, their wills still suppressing something within the land.
"The battlefield of gods and beasts," Mo Yu murmured. "In the ancient war, this must have been the core of the Divine Beast Plains—the place where the greatest fell."
Cai Lin's eyes darkened slightly. "So much bloodshed… so much loss."
The group pressed on, skimming low above the haunted terrain.
After half an hour, a colossal shape finally broke the monotony—a massive stone altar, rising tens of thousands of feet into the sky, bound by chains thicker than mountains. The immense stone links descended into the crust below, as if sealing something deep within the ground.
Mo Yu's heart quickened as he stared. "There," he whispered. "That's the source."
He had no time to say more before he felt a gaze—sharp, faintly mocking—drilling into him from afar.
Turning his head, he found them.
Across the altar, standing upon a raised platform, was a figure clad in blood-red robes—smiling coldly.
"Blood Ming…" Mo Yu's eyes hardened.
The other man's grin widened. "So, you actually dared to come here after all. Tell me, aren't you afraid of dying?"
Mo Yu chuckled lightly. "You know, there's a saying where I come from."
Blood Ming's eyes narrowed. "Oh? And what's that?"
Mo Yu's lips curved into an unhurried smile. "The dog that bites… never barks."
The words struck like a slap. Blood Ming's smirk froze, his expression twisting as fury stormed across his face.
Mo Yu, however, remained perfectly calm. As he glanced around, his attention flicked across the other stone platforms surrounding the altar—where every major faction had gathered.
The Kunpeng, the Forest Python, the Heaven-Reaching Ape Clans—all were already here.
Several other top-tier divine beast lineages had arrived as well, though some among them bore visible wounds, the cost of slaying their nine-rank targets.
When the assembled clans noticed Mo Yu's group approach—completely intact—their eyes gleamed with mixed surprise and skepticism.
They could sense no losses among his companions. Had he truly killed a half-step ninth-rank Beast Spirit with not a single casualty?
But they all recalled the devastating thunder that had shaken the sky. The mysterious lightning that had scorched half the plains. That must have been his weapon.
In their minds, Mo Yu's greatest trump card was already used up.
"Without that orb," they whispered, "he's just another fool."
Mo Yu ignored their doubt and led Cai Lin to land upon the stone platform alongside them.
They hadn't even settled when Cai Lin suddenly stiffened beside him, eyes widening slightly.
"Mo Yu—look!"
Following her gaze, Mo Yu turned—and froze.
Carved into the northern edge of the massive altar stood an enormous stone statue.
Its shape stretched endlessly into the clouds—a majestic being neither dragon nor serpent, but something between. Its body coiled upon itself elegantly, vast enough to blot out the light.
Even from so far away, the ancient aura emanating from it slowed his heartbeat, weighing down his veins with power and reverence.
He inhaled sharply. The Ancient Swallowing Python.
The aura, the divine pressure—it was unmistakable. This was where it had fallen.
That meant its legacy bloodline still existed here.
Excitement flashed across his face, though he swallowed it quickly as his gaze moved on—and found the other two statues.
The second was a radiant, winged eagle sculpted of shining gold and silver. Its outstretched wings spanned for miles, glowing faintly even through the decay.
Han Yue's breath caught. "An Ancient Dragonhawk..." he said reverently. "A divine race long lost to time."
His expression turned grim. "When the Outer Race invaded, countless divine beasts vanished—their legacies extinguished forever. The Dragonhawk Clan was one of them."
Mo Yu nodded silently. The devastation wrought by that war went beyond imagination. The invaders had nearly shattered the heart of the world itself.
Finally, he turned to the last statue—and stopped breathing.
His Primordial Flask Token began to tremble uncontrollably inside his chest, responding to the aura radiating from that monument.
Mo Yu's pupils constricted.
Before him loomed the image of a gargantuan ape, its body towering as though it held up the heavens themselves, its entire form cast in blazing purple-gold stone. Intricate spiraling patterns danced along its skin, radiating overwhelming might.
Though motionless, space itself warped faintly around it, as if terrified of its presence.
"This..." he breathed.
It was a representation of pure, primal dominance. Those fists could crush mountains—the world itself might collapse beneath one strike.
A spark of realization ignited within him, his heart pounding with both disbelief and awe.
"The Primordial Ancestral Ape…" he whispered.
The very being whose legend had transcended epochs—an embodiment of strength itself.
And now, its inheritance bloodline lay before him.
His hand trembled faintly as he exhaled.
"If fate has brought me here…" he murmured, eyes glimmering with fierce resolve, "…then there's no power in existence that will make me walk away."
The legacy of the Primordial Ancestral Ape—he would claim it.
