Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Scott Fellman.
"All Might!" Grandpa shouted almost furiously. I could see him preparing to jump towards the Grimm, but AFO appeared in front of him and prepared to attack him.
"SMAASH!!!" All Might shouted as he appeared next to AFO and punched her, pushing her back several meters. Grandpa took off at high speed into the air while aiming at the Wyvern.
AFO created a portal next to her and put her fist into it without hesitation. The portal was created in front of the grandfather, who used Shusui to deflect the decisive blow from AFO, sending him to the ground once again.
"Now, now, Ryuma, you came to face me and you're ignoring me so quickly?" AFO mocked as she dodged a punch from All Might.
"Bastard." Grandpa growled as he launched himself at AFO alongside All Might. Hundreds of exchanges happened in a fraction of a second, creating shockwaves that shook the entire ground.
"GRAAAAAUUUURRRHHH!!" With All Might and Grandpa stuck against AFO, the Wyvern roared again. This time, its body seemed to explode as black tar began to fall from its body, creating more Grimms.
And not just the Wyvern, AFO's fog portal was still in place, and Grimms were falling in droves, Grimms of all shapes and sizes.
Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.
I drew my swords from my shadows, placed Wado Ichimonji in my mouth, grabbed Enma and Sendai Kitetsu in my hands, before pushing Yubashiri in Taylor's direction. She needed a damn sword.
"Don't separate! Protect the civilians! Kill all the Grimms you see! We have to kill that damn Wyvern, or it will keep summoning Grimms!" I shouted, I didn't wait for any response, I flexed my legs and took a deep breath-
I stopped when I saw a trail of fire fly into the sky. I saw Endeavor propel herself with her fire towards the giant Wyvern at great speed. When she got close enough, Endeavor exploded into fire.
" Prominence Burn !!!!!! " Endeavor's scream echoed as her fire lit up the night sky, a massive beam of heat shooting out from her body at the Wyvern at full power. To my surprise, the Wyvern screamed again, not in pain, the Grimms didn't seem to feel pain, but in defiance as it withstood the attack.
The Endeavor's Prominence burn seemed to last forever until it finally stopped. When the fire finally stopped, the Wyvern was wounded, every part of its body damaged, but not mortally wounded.
The Wyvern's underside was unrecognizable; its chest looked melted entirely, and even its head was in bad shape. Its wings were the only things that seemed completely intact, and that was enough to keep the Wyvern flying while dropping Grimm in heaps.
I had to give Endeavor credit, I didn't like her so I'm not really aware and I don't remember if it's registered as an S rank right now, but that attack was strong enough for it to count as one. If I had been able to maintain the Prominence Burn a little longer, the Wyvern may have died.
But I had to get rid of that monster quickly, so I hit the ground with all my might. Godspeed. I imbued my Armor Haki into my swords as I promptly approached the Wyvern, placed my swords in front of me, and began to spin them rapidly.
Santoryu Ogi: Ichidai Sanzen Daisen Sekai, the Wyvern wasn't able to react quickly enough to evade my massive slashes. The Grimm Wyvern's head came off in a clean slash. I almost wanted to sigh as I could see the Grimm beginning to fade away.
Only for the Grim's body to begin to swell abnormally. I was on alert once again.
The Wyvern's body seemed to rapidly grow large, massive protrusions before exploding into black tar that scattered in all directions. The blast spanned hundreds of meters, and I watched in horror as thousands of Grimms began to rain down upon Kamino.
Since when could the damn Wyvern do that!?
I gritted my teeth, let my Nue out, and immediately decapitated it. I absorbed his power while pushing Orochi's down. Wings immediately sprouted from my sword.
My eyes quickly scanned all the Grimms. I had to kill them all before they hit the ground. I took a deep breath as my body relaxed. I let my Haki flow into my swords, my aura grow and stay in place, and… finally, I moved.
Santoryu … Sun Breathing… Thunder Breathing… Foxfire Style: God of Fire Thunder.
I combined several sword styles into one. Zenitsu's personal creation fused with Sun Breathing's Thirteenth Form while holding my three swords, all while utilizing the Foxfire style that Zoro had learned to use from Kin'emon.
Kin'emon's fighting style: Zoro had replicated it and stolen what was necessary to cut fire as if it were a tangible object. Still, it was more. Kin'emon was able to set his sword on fire at will, and Zoro had studied it carefully.
Zoro hadn't replicated it, but he'd seen enough for me to replicate it. And I definitely wasn't going to pass up the only way to generate fire in my swords without a fire quirk.
My swords caught fire thanks to the Foxfire style and grew when I fed them with my aura. They formed a giant eastern dragon that was immediately surrounded by powerful violet rays from my Totality with Nue.
And I was gone, 37 Grimms killed in one fell swoop, all of them standing around the helicopter that was filming the entire fight. I had to give them credit; I had no idea how they survived so long.
After that, my wings flapped, my legs punched the air, and I changed direction, moving fluidly. In split seconds, my swords swung through the air, slicing through everything in their path.
My feet pushed me in a new direction as I hit the air several times and increased my speed to an abnormal amount, while my wings guided and directed my flight, making me able to fly fluidly, creating the necessary curves with skill to guide me through the multitude of Grimms so that my swords could cut through everything.
My fire and thunder dragon created a trail behind me as it incinerated and destroyed all the nearby Grimms that hadn't been cut down. My body moved through the night sky, flying in every direction of the Grimms I could see.
50, 100, 300, 500, 1000, 2000, 5328 Grimms died in a few seconds, and it wasn't over. I kept breathing as I threw myself at the remaining Grimms that threatened to fall on Kamino.
My swords left a trail of death. The first Grimms I had cut down weren't even completely gone when hundreds more fell dead at once. I could feel the strain on my legs and wings, moving and flying so fast in every direction was taking its toll, but I didn't stop.
Even though my arms were strained from performing so many techniques at the same time, I didn't stop.
The more Grimm kills in the air, the fewer fall to the ground.
My eyes never left the falling Grimms. Beowulf, Boarbatusk, Death Stalkers, Griffons, Lancers, Nevermores, King Taijitu, Sabyrs, Sphinxes, Beringels, and many more. Of all sizes and all quantities.
They were all cut down by my swords with equal ease, unable to defend themselves, unable to react. It only took me less than a split second to kill dozens of them. In the air, they were easy targets, even the flying Grimms.
When the Grimms finally fell to the ground, I had killed 10,824 Grimms, and that was only 90% of the Grimms. I clicked my tongue, but I didn't stop. This time, I didn't go for the Grimms. I was furious, furious with AFO.
I kept the momentum and appeared above her, my swords overflowing with haki — fire and thunder. I attacked her. Rengoku Oni Giri. AFO was distracted by All Might and Grandpa; even so, she was able to react to my blow. She raised her arm, wrapped it in Haki, and took my blow head-on.
My sword, with great difficulty, pierced her arm to her surprise and made an extended cut from her shoulder to her opposite hip. My attack continued its path into the ground, creating a gap dozens of meters long and several meters deep.
Before my fire and thunder dragon struck her, she was dragged into the cleft and exploded into fire and thunder.
I walked away and appeared next to my grandfather, stumbling slightly as my legs tried to give way from the effort, and ended up kneeling on one leg. I looked up at the sky; my dragon's trail was still there.
It coiled, curved, and stretched for hundreds of meters, showing the path it had made in the sky as it killed all the Grimms.
Then I turned my gaze to the ground, where the other heroes and hunters in the area launched themselves at the Grimms, killing the stragglers, who still numbered in the hundreds. I could even see the girls at the forefront, killing several Grimms themselves.
I tried to stand up, but my body wouldn't respond appropriately. I took a deep breath, as I felt my whole body shake.
Damn, even though I was stupidly strong, and even though I could use any sword technique I had with great skill, even if I used Haki, it was also true that my body is still not entirely at its peak.
My body couldn't handle the strain of using multiple styles at the same time, at least not at such a high level. Zoro and Yoriichi were 21 and 22 at their strongest in canon, but more importantly, they'd both had countless fights to the death.
Especially Zoro: even with all my advantages from the start, the number of times Zoro improved in a fight was too many. Even after the Time Skip, Zoro showed more growth after each brutal battle than he did during his 2 years of training with Mihwak.
"Izumi, are you okay?" My grandfather's voice reached me, and I came out of my daydream. He sounded worried.
"I am, I just need a second," I said, catching my breath. With some difficulty, I stood up.
"You're bleeding from your nose... and your marks... grew." Grandpa said with a frown. I stopped stiffly, brought my hand to my face, and wiped the blood from my nose before looking curiously at my left shoulder.
I tugged on my shirt slightly, and yes, my birthmarks, my demon hunter marks, had grown and seemed to reach my neck. They still looked like the same tribal tattoos, but they extended all the way up my shoulder.
Okay, that was weird. I lightly touched the mark and followed it to my neck. I quickly checked myself and noticed it wasn't permanent for now. That was good. I could feel a slight boost in my physical abilities, and anything would help at this point.
It was the first time that had happened, but I suppose it was also the first time I had pushed myself so clearly beyond my limits. I breathed deeply as my body slowly regenerated.
"Wow, I must say I'm impressed, you finished off my... little pet quickly, you even killed most of the monsters while they were in the air... You really are Ryuma's grandson." AFO said as she calmly floated out of the crevice she had been stuck in.
My gaze immediately went in her direction. Her arm had regenerated, no, it had reattached itself. I could see how several spikes joined the arm right where I had cut it, and it still had a slight scar where I had cut, just like the scar on her chest.
I let my transparent world peer into her former self and grimaced. I had no idea how many Quirks you needed to make a body look that way, but it was horrible; all of her organs were… wrong.
Anatomically and biologically speaking, they looked nothing like human organs, but I'm sure they were much stronger and more efficient than any normal organ, and redundant too.
I could see that several organs performed several functions, like, how the hell did you make a liver pump blood?
"Yeah, well, your little pet was really weak." I said dryly, AFO laughed hoarsely.
"Yeah… I guess so," AFO said nonchalantly. "I see you decided to join the big leagues to face me? Following your grandfather's lead? Don't you want to go help your fiancées?" AFO asked mockingly as she pointed at the other heroes.
"They can handle themselves." I said immediately, I trusted them, a group of Grimms wouldn't be enough to defeat them.
"Enough talk, All For One," Grandpa said tiredly. "Let's get this over with." AFO laughed sadistically as she looked up at the sky.
"I guess that's served its purpose." AFO said sadistically, snapping her fingers. I felt a surge of my Haki and immediately looked up. I saw the portal fog in the sky begin to disappear, and I went completely pale.
Above the fog covering the city, a huge gate appeared, releasing massive amounts of energy, that bastard! She used the fog portal to hide the Gate above her.
And I also wanted to kick myself in the ass! I'd seen 10 Gates! Not 9 Gates and a fog portal. I gritted my teeth. Still… there was also the problem that no one noticed, no one gave a warning.
The amount of energy a Gate is capable of emitting should be noticeable from a great distance.
"NEZU! CAN YOU HEAR ME?" All Might asked through the earpiece in his ear, coming to the same conclusion, AFO just laughed.
"Don't worry, All Might, Nezu is safe, just... I interfered with communications with a quirk, I'm sure you remember. This way, I couldn't let the others keep ruining my surprises, after all." AFO mocked sadistically. I glared at her.
I quickly glanced at the helicopter still hovering overhead. Were they still broadcasting the fight? I had no idea, but I couldn't think too much about them. Luckily, I could see them moving away from the Gate, or well, as far as they could without stopping filming.
The Gate was definitely about to break. I didn't have time to grab anyone else; I had to leave AFO to All Might and Grandpa. I had to close that Gate immediately. Godspeed.
I hit the ground and shot forward, only for AFO to appear in front of me and slam her fist into me. I placed my swords in front of me and took the blow, knocking me back to the ground once more. I landed hard against the ground as I gritted my teeth.
"Izumi!" "YOUNG MIYAMURA!" Grandpa and All Might shouted as they attacked AFO. AFO just laughed as he dodged their blows.
"Miyamura, I already told you... You've made it to the major leagues, you can't just leave whenever you want, besides... didn't you say you trusted in the other heroes? in your fiancées?" AFO mocked sadistically. I gritted my teeth.
"I'll cut you into little pieces." I growled in annoyance, and AFO just laughed out loud.
"Guess it's time to get serious." AFO said as her arms began to grow abnormally while activating hundreds of quirks.
I tried to jump towards the Gate once more, but AFO stopped me, even as All Might and Grandpa tried to stop her. Then the noise, like breaking glass, filled the city —so fast?! We should have a few more minutes! Fuck, I looked up at the sky, the Gate had broken.
