Chapter 260 - Chapter 259: Exhibition Match

The Indigo Stadium was packed to the rafters once again. Every seat was filled with excited fans, families, young trainers, and curious visitors.

The giant screens around the stadium showed close-up shots of the battlefield. The announcer's voice echoed through the speakers, full of excitement.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 93rd Indigo Conference! Today we will decide who among the young trainers will become the new Junior Champion. These are the hopefuls who have collected all eight Gym Badges. They have traveled far, battled hard, and learned many lessons on their journey. Some of them may one day stand on the biggest stage and fight for the title of Champion of the entire region."

The crowd cheered loudly. The announcer continued with enthusiasm. "We will see battle tactics they have developed over months of hard work. We will see the deep bonds they have formed with their Pokémon. These young trainers have faced wild Pokémon, tough Gym Leaders, and their own limits. Now they face each other. Every match will test their strategy, courage, and heart. This is where dreams either grow stronger or end. But no matter what happens, they will leave here better trainers than when they arrived."

He paused to let the crowd roar again. "The Indigo Conference is more than just battles. It is a celebration of growth. It is proof that anyone with determination can rise. These young trainers started as beginners. They earned their badges through sweat and effort. Now they stand here ready to prove themselves one last time before the real journey begins. So let us give them the welcome they deserve!"

The stadium shook with applause and cheers. Trainers in the stands waved flags. Families held signs with their favorite participant's name.

"But before all of that," the announcer said, his voice rising with excitement, "we have a special treat for you all. An exhibition match to kick things off right."

The crowd grew louder. The announcer smiled. "This is a match between trainers who stand at the very top of the Indigo League. It is something to inspire the young competitors who will battle later. It shows them the heights they can reach if they keep training hard and believing in their Pokémon. It is a reminder that greatness comes from dedication, strategy, and unbreakable bonds."

He leaned closer to the microphone. "And of course, it is a spectacle for everyone here in the stadium and all our viewers watching at home. You will see moves you have only dreamed about. You will see power you rarely witness. You will see two masters go head to head in a battle that will be talked about for years."

The crowd roared again. Chants of "Battle! Battle!" filled the air. The announcer raised his voice over the noise. "So take your seats, ladies and gentlemen, because we are going straight into this exhibition match!"

The stadium lights dimmed slightly. Spotlights focused on one entrance. The announcer's voice boomed again.

"On one side, we have a member of the Elite Four! The Fighting Champ! The specialist who lives and breathes battle! Bruno!"

Bruno walked out from the tunnel. His muscles shone under the lights. He wore no shirt or t-shirt. His bare chest showed every line of hard training. Scars from old battles marked his skin. He carried himself with complete confidence.

Women in the crowd screamed and whistled. Some stood up and cheered louder. A group of teenage girls held signs that said "Bruno, marry me!" Bruno did not even glance at them. His focus was only on the battlefield. He looked like a man who lived for the fight and nothing else.

The announcer laughed. "Looks like Bruno has his fans! But do not worry, ladies and gentlemen...he is here for one thing: battle!"

Bruno stopped at his side of the field. He cracked his knuckles and stared straight ahead. The crowd's cheers grew even louder.

"And his opponent," the announcer continued, "has been in the news since the day he became a Gym Leader. He continues to shock us with every move he makes. He may be young, but oh boy, does he deliver surprises! Let us see what Kanto's little prodigy has in store for us today! Let's give it up for Moonwood Town's Gym Leader Gladion"

Gladion stepped out from the opposite tunnel. The crowd erupted. He wore his usual black jacket with the crescent moon symbol. His expression was calm, but an excited grin spread across his face. He raised one hand and waved to the audience. Cheers rained down. Children shouted his name. Trainers held up signs with "Go Gladion!" written in big letters.

Gladion walked down to the center of the field. Bruno met him there. They shook hands.

"We have not talked much," Gladion said, "but let us have a good match."

Bruno gripped his hand firmly. Gladion felt the strength in that grip, but it was not meant to hurt.

Bruno was simply excited. "We will," Bruno said. "I am Bruno of the Elite Four!"

He looked Gladion in the eyes. "Hmm. I see no fear in you. You look determined. That is exactly what I want. My Pokémon need to show the results of their hard work. They need an opponent who can give them a real challenge."

Gladion matched his grin. "Do not worry. You will get a challenge."

They separated and walked to their spots. The referee stepped forward to explain the rules. The crowd waited in excited silence.

Meanwhile, in the stands, a young boy with a red cap pointed excitedly. "Mom, look! It is Gym Leader Gladion!"

Delia Ketchum smiled down at her son. "I can see him, Ash."

Ash bounced on his toes. "His Tyranitar is super cool! When I start my journey, I am definitely going to challenge him and win a Gym battle!"

Gary Oak, who had come to support his sister Daisy, smirked from the seat beside them. "Ash boy, I will beat you to it."

Ash spun around. "No way, Gary! I will get to him first!"

Gary crossed his arms. "Dream on. My team will be way stronger than yours."

Ash puffed out his chest. "My Pokemon and I will prove you wrong!"

Gary laughed. "Keep talking. We will see who gets the badges faster."

Delia put a hand on each boy's shoulder.

"Now now boys. You two will start your journey in a year. Until then, watch carefully. Learn from trainers like Gladion and Bruno. Because if you want to become a Pokémon Master, you would have to beat trainers like them."

Gary nodded seriously.

The referee raised his flags. The crowd grew completely quiet. The exhibition match was about to begin.
