I watched as my friends were hauled out like a live stock. They saw me and realised that I will follow them and rescue them. So I hid under the vehicle and entered the facility. The soldiers took them all in and left them behind an electrified fence. I switched off the power and tried to rip the barrier. I had to partially transform into my beast form do it. I watched my nails grow longer. My veins become more apparent. I saw my vision change a little. I know because all of a a sudden I can see everyone's hearts beating and the arteries flowing with blood. Once the fence was removed I changed back. I told everyone to remain calm as I get them out of this nightmare quietly. I told them they have nothing to worry about. I will get them out and they don't have to see me anymore. This convinced them to come with. I had to extend my senses and search the safest route. I extended my hands and the girls took it instinctively. We turned invisible for a second and changed back. I asked everyone to hold hands as I got them out. They took it and we kept walking till we were out. Then I told everyone that I am going to go and delete everything. They need to keep walking straight. They will find themselves on the outskirts of town. They can find a bus or taxi. They gave me an appreciative nod and kept walking. I told the girls to stay put. I zipped in and deleted everything and made sure there were no backups.
Once I got out I saw the werewolf colony and vampire clans were waiting for an explanation. I explained that I used the contents of the box sent to the hospital. I took it because I assumed it was a cure for my blood disorder. I am pleased to announce that it cured me. The bald man in a fur coat asked me how it felt. I explained that I had spent my entire life on crutches or on a wheel chair so this was brand new. Cain asked politely, "You took it because you thought it was medicine?" I nodded as I explained in a matter of fact tone, "I was told that my meds were killing me. Mom was told to arrange my funeral since my days were numbered. I wanted to live. I heard the nurse say it was the universal cure. So I took a risk. I am healed and I am truly grateful. I apologize for stealing." Cain casually waved it off. I told him my name and he raised an eyebrow. I told him which hospital to check. He promised to investigate. I apologized again and he simply smiled, "That formula has been vexing me for months. The vampires know of its existence and some of the rogue werewolves have boldly begun raiding my safe houses in the hopes to get it. Now I can honestly say that I don't have it anymore. I promise not to tell them anything about you." The vampires concurred. Irene insisted we get out before the soldiers came looking. I wanted to say something but we heard the alarm. I screamed, "Take my arm" everyone grabbed it and we walked out of there unnoticed.
Once we reached the city. The vampires and werewolves went their separate way. The werewolves walked towards the industrial district. The vampires went towards the mansion on the hill. The girls and I kept walking till we found a cab. I used hypnosis to make sure he drove us for free. Irene was grinning ear to ear. The others waited till we were back in the school to promise never to go to an underground club ever again. Sonja gave me a nudge as she tried to express gratitude. Annie was laughing at the idea of a free ride. The others were too tired so they went to sleep. The next morning we had breakfast and I saw a werewolf I had rescued last night. He gave me a curt nod and stared aimlessly. I ate my toast, sausages, eggs and hash browns before I noticed Cain was there too. He waited patiently. I got up to get seconds and he naturally gravitated towards me. I told him that I have a free period in four hours. We can talk then. He politely agreed and I scooped up scrambled eggs and a few more toasts. I extended my senses and explained that today was hosing day. He politely asked me to elaborate. I explained that the military came and hosed us to remove any sunscreen before we bake in the sun. Then we are supposed to hold a silver necklace. The headmistress gives us the day off as a treat. I cursed Angelica because she is the reason we are going through this to begin with.
After the first period we walked out in a single file. The security watched as we were hosed and stayed in the sun. Some of them complained about phoning important relatives who will exact vengeance. I sat down and just absorbed some vitamin d before being summoned for the necklace situation. I asked if I could buy it. The lady chuckled as she called the next person in. I walked up the stairs and nudged Cain to come with me. He came without incident. We sat on the roof and he confirmed my medical records. He apologized for the pain I went through and the nightmare I have now fallen face first into. He explained about the war between both sides. He created the hybrid to bridge the difference between the species hoping for a truce. I will be hunted by those who want immunity from all weaknesses so they can assert dominance. He seriously emphasized upon the fact that I should learn how to control my gifts since they will be the only thing that will save my life. I am a bridge but also a weapon. I need to be careful or people will get hurt. I explained how I have been controlling myself. He was impressed by the invisibility. I explained that it was purely accidental. I was trying to hide when it happened. Now I am trying to do it instinctively.
I explained that I have trouble seeing through walls but I will figure out how to do it. He stared at me in shock. "You can see through walls?" I nod my head, "It was one of my first abilities to manifest. I can hear conversations that are happening all over the city like they are sitting next to me." I placed my hand on his and showed him how I see stuff. He stared everywhere mesmerized, "Amazing" I focused on the x-ray vision and he chuckled. I also explained about a person who is bionic. He promised to be careful and asked me to find a way to learn since the countdown has begun. I promised to find any and every excuse to learn. He gave an approving nod before he went to guard the place. I was downstairs when I heard a werewolf talking to someone on the phone. He explained that he felt someone's presence. He knows it is a hybrid. He has no clue who it might be. He will try to figure out a way to flush them out. I walked over and extended my hand to shake it. He absentmindedly shook it and I pressed my bracelet on his palm. He screamed in pain as he started to smoke. The soldiers pointed their guns at him and he had no choice but to turn into the beast and attack. I got out of the way. The soldiers kept firing till the man fell dead. I pulled out my bloody bracelet and walked over to wash it. The headmistress asked me to be more careful as she started yelling at the soldiers for bringing werewolves to her school.
I was escorted to a tent where they checked my bracelet. They concluded that it was pure silver. The inquiry began and I was just trying to shake his hand and my bracelet got stuck. I have been meaning to get a smaller bracelet but it is my mom's so I kept it. The lady gave me a stern once over before asking me not to go around shaking hands with people. I asked her if She was one of them. I extended my bracelet and insisted that I will scream wolf if she didn't touch it. The nearest soldier aimed his gun and she reached for it. I asked her to wash her hands using my water bottle. She gave me a dirty look but did it anyway. She passed the test and I asked the headmistress to tell the military to get out of the area. They have tested randomly and all werewolves have been successfully evicted. So if werewolves come then it means they brought them here. No one has changed since the last test. One of the students called his uncle. The man was a lawyer who served the governor. So after a shouting match the military was forced to leave. I smiled as they left. The general asked me if I would consider joining the army. I told him to lose my number. I am not interested in death cults. I just got my life back and I am not squandering it. I also hypnotized him to never come back unless he has proof that the school has werewolves or something else unnatural. His eyes glazed over as he agreed. Someone honked and he told me to get out of his way. The nearest werewolf smiled and I gave him a wink, "You're welcome." Cain was by the banister staring down everyone and the fur coat was nearby too. Both laughed merrily as I walked by. Cain gave me a thumbs up and the others gave me a nod. Irene grabbed my hand and we went upstairs to change our clothes. I think we are going to the library for a study group.
