Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: I think I finally understand the meaning of forever

They spent a few hours at the museum because Willy wanted to see absolutely everything. To his surprise, Tim knew a lot about the cars and answered almost all of his questions. They looked at everything together, and Willy was incredibly impressed by the whole collection. He even managed to upload a few pictures on his social media, writing: "I had the best birthday ever. I never thought I would be able to see all of this." A moment later, Tim left a comment saying: "This is just the beginning."

Willy smiled and showed the comment on his phone. "Is this you?"

Tim chuckled softly. "Yeah, it's my comment. Your friends and family are asleep right now, so there would be no one else but me active online."

Willy suddenly pouted, checking his phone. "Hey, why didn't you follow me before? You're not even following me right now???!!!!"

Tim laughed and immediately followed his account. Willy was still a bit playfully angry, so he decided not to follow him back just yet. He checked Tim's profile, but it was private, and only their close friends followed him. There were no pictures of Tim at all, only beautiful pictures of buildings, landscapes, and quiet places.

Willy looked up curiously. "You have a second account, don't you?"

Tim nodded casually. "Yeah, that one is for my work, where I only post important and memorable things for me."

Willy was now very interested in what Tim was hiding on his second account. Tim noticed his intense look.

Tim smiled. "On that second account, I mainly post ads and company-related stuff."

Willy nudged him. "Show me the second account."

Tim shook his head playfully. "No, it's a secret."

Willy crossed his arms. "That's all you ever say. Fine, I'll find it myself."

Willy immediately typed in "Timothy" in the search bar, but there were way too many users with that name. Finding him wouldn't be easy at all. He checked several accounts, but none of them belonged to his husband.

Tim gently took his hand and pulled him along. "Let's go, you can look for it later."

Willy grumbled a little but followed closely behind him.

Why can't he just tell me? Willy thought. It's just a simple social media account. I don't understand why he needs to keep it a secret like this.

A car was waiting for them outside the museum and took them straight to the hotel.

Tim opened the door to their balcony. "I ordered some food, and now we can watch the sunrise together. It's a great view from here."

He was right. The view of the city was absolutely beautiful. The first golden rays of the sun were just appearing on the horizon. It had only been six hours since his birthday began, and Willy had already received so many wonderful presents. He was absolutely sure that Tim had many more surprises planned for him.

Willy turned to him. "What are we going to do now?"

Tim wrapped his arms around his waist. "Let's sleep for a few hours now, because I don't want you to get too tired. Then we'll get ready and watch the grand race together."

Willy's eyes lit up with pure excitement. Another one of his childhood dreams was about to come true. He hugged Tim with pure joy.

Willy whispered. "Thank you... You really have everything planned perfectly. I'm afraid I'll get sick from all this happiness."

Tim kissed his hair tenderly. "That's why I took care of everything."

Tim had a bit of a hard time convincing him to actually fall asleep because Willy was so excited. Of course, they weren't going to watch the race alone, but if Tim told him about their friends now, Willy really wouldn't be able to sleep at all.

While Willy slept peacefully in the warm bed, Tim quietly checked to see if everything was ready for the big birthday celebration later. The preparations were going perfectly. When it was finally time to go to the track, Tim gently woke Willy up. They quickly got dressed and left the hotel.

When they arrived, there was a massive crowd gathered outside the stadium.

Willy looked around in awe. "There are so many people here! When I watch it on TV, I never realize that so many people actually come to the races in person."

Tim guided him through the crowd. "It's actually not that many, because in previous years there were even more spectators."

Willy tilted his head. "Really? Why don't they come to watch anymore?"

Tim's voice softened. "Most of the old popular racers have left the sport. People are less interested in the new ones because there isn't as much intense competition anymore."

Willy nodded. "I haven't watched them in a long time either. I've been so busy with university and my writing."

They entered the main building, walking past the security gates.

Willy looked around, confused. "Where are you going, Tim? Shouldn't we go to the stands to watch?"

Tim smiled mysteriously. "I'll give you a little tour first."

Everything looked different behind the scenes. It felt so alive, with mechanics and teams getting the cars ready for the big race. The atmosphere was incredibly lively and energetic.

Tim, of course, knew everyone here. Willy stopped asking questions because he already knew his husband could get them anywhere.

Tim looked down at him. "I know your favorite old racer isn't here today, but if you want to take a picture with one of the new drivers, just let me know."

Willy smiled. "I don't know many of the new racers, to be honest. I only know Eric."

Tim's face changed instantly, a playful frown appearing on his lips. "Please, not him..."

Willy blinked. "Why?"

Tim sighed, crossing his arms. "I've known him for a long time. We grew up together. He's always been obsessed with me and used to constantly ask me to be his boyfriend..."

Willy's protective instincts kicked in. He stepped closer and held Tim's arm tightly. "Well, he can't say anything to you now, because you are my husband."

Tim's eyes softened with absolute delight at Willy's jealousy. "You're right. Let's go, I need to introduce you to someone else."

Tim took Willy's hand and led him deeper into the garage area. Everyone was busy prepping the cars, but the moment they saw Tim walk in, the whole team stopped what they were doing.

Tim smiled warmly. "Hello, everyone. How are things looking? I think you all know Willy by now."

"Congratulations!" The team cheered happily. Everyone warmly congratulated them on their marriage and engagement.

Tim turned to Willy proudly. "I had to introduce you to this great team. They're the absolute best."

Willy's heart raced with excitement. "They're my favorite team!"

The mechanics were thrilled to hear that, laughing and shaking hands with him.

Tim then pointed toward a glass office. "And I especially had to introduce you to Arthur."

Willy suddenly became very nervous, because Arthur was a former champion and a true legend in the racing world.

Arthur stepped out and greeted them with a warm, grandfatherly smile. "It's so nice to meet you, Willy. Tim always talks about you."

Willy smiled respectfully. "It's a great honor to meet you, sir."

Tim left them alone for a few moments to talk while he went to join the engineers to look at the cars. He looked a bit nervous but happy to see Willy in his world.

Arthur watched Tim for a moment, then looked back at Willy with soft, emotional eyes. "When Tim first told us about you, we were so incredibly happy. We never thought we would see him look this happy again. It's a shame he can't use his racing talent anymore after the accident. We didn't think he would even survive that crash, Willy. We were so worried about him. There was no one with him in the hospital back then, and he had to deal with all that pain entirely alone. He is so strong. We are just so glad he finally found the light he's been looking for his whole life."

Willy's eyes filled with tears as he looked at Tim. "I'll always be with him from now on, Arthur. I know he's been through so much. He is the light in my life, too."

It was true. Tim really seemed so much happier now that they lived together. They had completely changed each other's lives.

I hope one day he can tell me everything, Willy thought quietly. I know it's hard for him to trust people and it takes time to heal, but I'm sure he will tell me when he's ready. It's never easy to talk about the dark things you've survived.

"Eric, what are you doing here?"

Tim's sharp voice suddenly snapped Willy out of his thoughts. He turned to see the blond racer standing near their garage.

Eric smirked casually. "I heard Tim was here today, so I just came over to see him."

Tim frowned, stepping in front of Willy. "Yeah, I'm not surprised you're snooping around. When are you going to stop bothering me, Eric?"

Eric stepped closer, smiling confidently. "Only when you agree to become my boyfriend will I finally stop bothering you."

Before Tim could even answer, Willy immediately stepped up right next to him, gripping Tim's hand tightly and looking Eric dead in the eye.

Willy said proudly. "But he's already my husband."

Eric's confident smile completely vanished. He looked totally shocked. It wasn't surprising, since no one in the media knew about their marriage yet, and only a few people knew they were engaged.

Eric swallowed hard. "I... I didn't know about that."

Tim smiled triumphantly, pulling Willy close to his side. "Well, now you know. This is Willy, my husband."

Tim had been waiting for this exact moment for a very long time to proudly tell someone from his past that Willy belonged to him.

Eric offered a forced nod. "Congratulations, then."

Willy smiled politely. "Thank you. We'll leave you now, because Tim and I have other plans."

They said goodbye to Arthur and the team and went up to the private box to watch the race.

Willy looked up at Tim, teasing him gently. "You're happy right now, aren't you?"

Tim smiled down at him with pure devotion. "Yes, I am very happy. I've been waiting for a moment like this for a long time."

Before the cars started, Arthur joined them in the booth, and they all watched the thrilling race together. It was an amazing, high-energy race, and they were both so incredibly happy. They truly had a wonderful day. After the race, Arthur invited them to a victory party, but since they had private plans, they politely declined.

Willy looked at Tim as they got back into the car. "Next stop?"

Tim smiled gently. "We're going back to the hotel room."

Willy was surprised, because he was sure Tim had another grand, public surprise waiting for him.

Tim reached over and squeezed his hand. "First, we are going to cook a nice dinner together, then we'll watch a good movie. And I've got a final surprise waiting for you at the very end."

Cooking together in the suite was so much fun and filled with laughter. The movie they chose was also incredibly interesting. Despite the long, busy day, neither of them felt tired at all; they were just happy to be together.

Tim finally turned off the TV and looked at him softly. "It's time to go into the bedroom, love."

The moment Willy opened the bedroom doors, his breath caught in his throat. There were beautiful, soft red flower petals scattered absolutely everywhere across the room. On the center table sat a gorgeous birthday cake, a massive bouquet of his favorite flowers, and beautifully wrapped presents.

Willy turned around, his eyes shining with tears as he looked at his husband.

Tim walked in and closed the door behind them. "Did you really think we would finish this day without a proper cake and presents, sweetheart?"

Willy ran into his arms, hugging his neck tightly. "My first birthday wish already came true today, Tim. And I am absolutely sure my second wish will come true too."

Tim held him close. "And what is your second wish?"

Willy leaned his forehead against Tim's, whispering softly. "Thanks to you, I finally learned what love and true happiness mean. I am sure that in our future, thanks to you, I will also learn what the word forever means... because I want us to be together forever."

Willy didn't wait for an answer. He pulled Tim down and kissed him deeply, pouring all his love into it. When they parted, Willy smiled dreamily. "You deserve a great gift tonight too, because you were an exceptionally perfect husband today."

Tim laughed softly, his hands resting gently on Willy's hips. "I am always the best husband, love."

They both laughed, the sweet, warm intimacy filling the quiet room.

Tim's eyes darkened with a soft, warm heat, his voice dropping to a gentle whisper against his lips. "It's your birthday, Willy... so whatever happens tonight is entirely up to your choice."

Willy smiled beautifully, a tender, breathless spark in his eyes as he pulled his husband down onto the soft sheets. "I think you already know my answer, Tim... because this is going to be your gift."

Willy's birthday ended in absolute, pure happiness. It was a beautiful day that neither of them would ever forget for the rest of their lives.
