Chapter 557 - Death's Domain

After investigating the theft of the divine treasure, John made a trip to the stolen warehouse, having Gardevoir use her temporal power to freeze the energy at the scene and replay the images.

The results matched his suspicions.

Galaxy Team member, Volo.

However, John didn't plan to immediately go arrest him. That guy had Giratina backing him up, not easy to deal with. Besides, if it weren't for him, where else would John find Palkia and Dialga?

John was basically certain that if the Adamant Orb and Lustrous Orb existed in this Hisui region timeline two thousand years ago, they were eighty percent likely on Palkia and Dialga themselves.

So, he'd just wait until the plot developed to that point.

For now, he was still in the spatial rift of the secret realm on Sky Island, training hard.

Zeraora was still absorbing the electrical energy left behind by Zapdos, absorbing and training simultaneously, maintaining its maximum control over electrical currents, not afraid of illness or explosive states appearing from absorbing too much electrical energy.

Tyranitar, Aggron and Metagross were training their control over rock, steel and psychic energy.

Greninja, Blaziken, and Urshifu were studying how to use aura power.

Every Pokemon had their own training regimen. What looked like a desolate spatial rift was actually full of vigorous life, incredibly lively.

John suddenly felt the broken horn on his body heating up.

He remembered, this was Xerneas' broken horn that he'd obtained before. If it emitted light, it meant Xerneas needed help right now.

Emerging from the secret realm on Fullmoon Island, John immediately ran into his mentor, Saul Badman.

"Mentor, has something major happened?" John asked. When he was in seclusion in the secret realm, he was basically cut off from the outside world. Only if something occurred that Draconia couldn't handle would Saul personally come to inform him.

"The situation is urgent, let's talk while we go." Saul saw John and hurriedly waved his hand to signal.

John invited his teacher to sit on his Lugia, heading west all the way.

Saul didn't waste words, roughly describing the reason for seeking John this time.

The Western Region, beneath Crescent Moon. Recently, the Draconia's scientific investigation team stationed near Crescent Moon discovered that a massive area had numerous petrified Pokemon statues appearing.

The nation had no choice but to activate emergency measures, relocating the surrounding civilians, then dispatching the Elite Four member Damian to investigate.

Unfortunately, Damian's infiltration investigation yielded no substantial results.

The Trainer Association had a preliminary speculation: The legendary God of Death, Yveltal, had appeared near Crescent Moon!

"As expected, it's related to Yveltal." John had anticipated this early on.

After all, for the Life Pokemon, Xerneas, to need help, it definitely wouldn't be a small matter. It must involve another legendary Pokemon. And one that could clash with the benevolent, life-symbolizing Xerneas, aside from its counterpart, Yveltal, there probably wasn't anyone else.

"I also received news from Xerneas, and I'm currently preparing to make a trip to Crescent Moon. I assume this is exactly that matter."

"That's good then." His mentor nodded. Originally, he was somewhat worried about his disciple going alone to face Yveltal, but hearing that Xerneas would be there together, he felt much more at ease.

After arriving in the Western Region, Sauk voluntarily separated from the group.

Because John had opened up Crescent Moon as a location, Draconia had recently been conducting in-depth exploration of Crescent Moon, even establishing a large research base. So the discovery of the area covered by Yveltal's death energy came very early. Aside from the Pokemon that were initially petrified, there were basically no human or Pokemon casualties.

But the area was expanding further, approaching human settlements. Large-scale short-term relocations still seriously lacked manpower for assistance. Saul feared he would hold John back, so he decisively went to the Western Region to help with logistics arrangements.

Lugia flew swiftly through the Western Region sky. John very quickly arrived at the area covered by death energy that Saul had mentioned.

The earth, the sky, and everything within seemed to have been stripped of all color, leaving behind a deathly silent gray, so monotonous it couldn't help but inspire fear in people's hearts.

Gardevoir hurriedly appeared beside John, opening Light Screen for protection. Only then was the draining of life energy cut off.

He'd temporarily call this power "Death Energy."

Such domineering power, truly, Yveltal could possess it.

As he approached Crescent Moon, the broken horn of Xerneas in John's hand grew increasingly bright, finally transforming directly into a dazzling pink beam of light flying toward the distance.

John patted Lugia's back, chasing closely after the light beam.

About 5km north beyond the range covered by death energy, in a patch of lush green forest, John finally met Xerneas.

Accompanying it were the former Gardevoir Queen, a giant rotund Snorlax, and a Togekiss. As expected, they were all Xerneas' companions, and also being the King of their respectif species.
