Chapter 127 - Spycraft

The room was silent for a moment while Prime Minister George studied my face, no doubt considering whether to believe my words. Then the Prime Minister exhaled slowly and smiled.

"Finally, someone who understands." The Prime Minister said. "Many people seem to think that we offered our kingdom to King Titus on a whim. They cannot see that this kingdom was already his for the taking. Our gold and our loyalty is such a small price to pay for King Titus' protection and favor."

"Precisely, my lord." I replied, with a deep nod. "It is clear that you made the wisest choice. I only wish I had known the truth of it sooner. I must admit, I foolishly doubted and ignored the reports I received about the Fairy King. Though, I am sure I could not have persuaded King Mason to act differently."
