Kent remained a mortal, vulnerable and weak, still held in Phanesha's firm grip, her eyes burning with anger as she gazed back at the nonchalant Paragon, who threw a grape into the air and caught it with his mouth.
Watching this, Kent cursed inwardly, 'This bastard clearly is enjoying my peril.'
Kent also cursed himself for not having any knowledge of the life he had lived before all this.
It appeared that everything happening now was connected to the life in which he was known as Avalon, the same person he had suspected was somehow connected to him.
If he had any idea of that life, perhaps things would have been different for him.
But as it stood now, his life was in Phanesha's hands, and he couldn't ask for a better person to come to his rescue than that Paragon who, as it stood, had a much deeper rivalry with Phanesha than even Kent himself had with her.
Phanesha and Paragon had an intense staring contest for a few minutes before Paragon laughed.
