Jade stood there, his usual calm smile returning as he placed one hand behind his back. "So," he began softly, his tone carrying a faint trace of mischief.
Dila shifted her weight, tapping her right foot lightly against the marble floor, her blue eyes narrowing a little. "So what?" she replied, lifting one brow, her voice cool and guarded.
Jade chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "Umm... there's something I need to tell you," he said, his voice awkward yet sincere. He started to lift his right hand, "I—"
But before he could finish, Fran's lively voice echoed from the far side of the cafeteria. "Sister! Sister! Are you going to eat lunch or what?"
Dila blinked, her expression softening as she turned toward the sound. Still holding her silver plate to her chest, she gave a small smile. "Alright, Fran," she said warmly, her tone gentle again.
