I felt like such an idiot for kissing Danilo.
I did not know what got into me. I could not blame it on the alcohol because I was not allowed to drink a drop. It must have been something that possessed me in the last second, the blue confetti still falling and the room screaming and his eyes on me like I was the only thing in Berlin.
But I would be lying if I said I did not enjoy the way Danilo's hand felt on my lower back. Warm. Large. Anchoring. Like he remembered exactly where to put it.
People in the room stared at Danilo with amazement. Anyone could see the power he contained the moment he walked into the room. He did not have to speak. He just stood there in that black suit and the air moved around him.
Even though some of them knew he was very much gay, they still flirted. Women with red lips and too much perfume leaned in like we were not at our baby's gender reveal. Like they had no shame.
