Realizing this, Shin understood that his new sister wasn't actually a bad person. She just had a terrible way of showing she cared.
"You are definitely wondering how I suddenly got so strong, right?" Shin asked smoothly. "I went to a specific place. The people there helped me unlock my true power."
In reality, Planet Vegeta was incredibly far from Earth. It would take at least a year of travel under normal circumstances to reach it. But Shin needed to confirm one crucial detail: did Earth still possess the concept of Ki in this timeline?
More importantly, their immediate priority was escaping Frieza. Based on the timeline, Frieza was finalizing his plan to eradicate the Saiyan race right this second. Shin had to run. He didn't care about the fate of the other Saiyans—they had absolutely nothing to do with him.
Hearing the promise of greater strength, Amela's interest was instantly piqued.
"Are you telling the truth?" she asked, crossing her arms. "Your Power Level definitely increased... but I am absolutely going to surpass you! Still, seeing you like this... you finally look like a real older brother."
Shin smiled faintly. Her real brother was long gone. He was just borrowing the body. And his current Power Level was completely fake anyway—without relying on his multiversal abilities, he was still just a piece of trash with a Power Level of 108...
"Since you don't have any pending missions," Shin declared, "we are leaving right now. We are heading to a planet called Earth. Once we get there, our Power Levels are going to skyrocket past their limits."
Shin planned to use Earth's God to gain an audience with King Kai. That was the only legitimate way to quickly scale his power in this universe.
"Do you have any objections?" Shin asked, offering a calm smile.
Amela thought about it for a second. "I didn't have anything planned anyway. It is just going to another planet, why are you asking it like it is a big deal? Fine, we will go. I need to get stronger anyway... so I can protect my idiot older brother."
Shin stared at her, his smile widening into a teasing grin.
Amela's face instantly turned bright red. "What is with that look?? Even if your Power Level is higher than mine now, if you keep making fun of me, I am going to beat you up!"
Watching her completely lose her composure, Shin let out a genuine laugh. "Alright, alright. Pack it up, we are leaving this rock."
"You are so annoying!" Amela huffed.
'I really have to admit,' Shin thought. 'For someone with such a foul mouth, I ended up with a pretty cute little sister.'
Amela truly was adorable. If he bought her some normal clothes on Earth, she would look exactly like a regular, cute teenage girl. The only real issue was her incredibly short fuse.
"Alright, let's head out," Shin said, leading the way. "We have a lot of work waiting for us out there."
They quietly slipped away and boarded a spaceship. They logged their departure as a standard mission, leaving absolutely no trace of their true intentions.
Shortly after Shin and Amela left the atmosphere, the entire population of Planet Vegeta was completely wiped out. But Shin and Amela didn't look back. They had no lingering attachments to that doomed world.
"So, how far away is this place exactly?" Shin asked, settling into his seat.
"Destination: Earth, Milky Way Galaxy," the ship's mechanical voice responded automatically. "Distance: 1.15 billion light-years. Estimated travel time: Ten years."
Shin's jaw dropped. Ten years?? By the time they arrived, he would be a full-grown adult! He was currently just a teenager.
Amela, on the other hand, just smirked. "Ten years, huh? It has been a long time since I traveled that far out."
"Doesn't ten years feel a bit too long to you??" Shin asked, utterly bewildered.
"This is the elite spaceship our parents left behind," Amela explained, rolling her eyes. "It might seem slow, but it is actually cruising at standard speed. We could accelerate, but there is no point. I keep forgetting you are a low-class warrior who never had the privilege of using a ship like this. I am only letting you ride in it as a special exception. Even with your new Power Level, you are still inherently low-class."
Shin frowned, sensing a sudden shift in her tone. "Wait a second. You were acting perfectly fine a minute ago. Why are you suddenly snapping at me again? What did I even do?"
"You just annoy me! I don't care!" Amela huffed, crossing her arms defensively. "Anyway, ten years is a long trip, and we would burn through too much energy if we stayed awake. But it doesn't matter. If we engage the hibernation mode, our bodies will only age two years, even though ten years will pass in the outside world."
Shin's eyes lit up with excitement. "That is perfect! Why didn't you just lead with that?? And is that actually how the hibernation pods work? I find it a bit hard to believe, even if your Power Level is higher."
"Why are you suddenly so talkative since you got stronger??" Amela snapped, her patience completely gone. "You are so annoying! I am going to sleep!"
Without another word, she climbed into her hibernation pod and sealed it shut.
Shin followed suit, climbing into his own pod.
'Ten years...' Shin calculated mentally. 'Ten years from the destruction of Planet Vegeta means we will arrive right at the start of the Dragon Ball Z timeline. The timing is absolutely perfect.'
With that comforting thought, Shin activated the hibernation sequence.
As the pod sealed around him, Shin let out a final, exasperated sigh. Dealing with this sister of his was going to be a lot of work.
