Michael's eyes widened. He got it! Ettrick had finally revealed the reason for his and Triton's agreement with each other.
As it turned out, Triton had plans to purchase land here in the Royal Continent.
Now, normally, that wouldn't be much of a problem. However, Princess Octavia had already told him that Triton had publicly announced that he wanted to return back to the oceans alongside the other Mermens.
If he truly wanted to return to the seven seas, then why would he purchase land here in the Royal Continent?
This would imply that Triton actually wanted to do the opposite of what he had announced. He wanted to stay here for an extended period of time!
As for why, Michael had no idea yet. And it looked like he wouldn't be able to get the answer from Ettrick.
"I… uh… it seems that my time here has come to a close, Michael. Let us meet again in the future to discuss the electrical grid. I am very interested in coming to a cooperation," Ettrick said.
