Lyla was sure that she had been alone. She'd have been able to detect any presence with her werewolves senses. Her eyes scanned the empty space around her looking for the source of the voice but she was met with nothing but unnatural silence. Her ears strained, clutching her baby closer to her chest worried that she'd lose her. Then… she heard it.
It started low and soft until it got louder. A deep, resonant chuckle and it sounded as though it was coming from beyond the flickering streetlight that was only a few inches away from her.
The hair on her skin rose in fear,her heart slamming against her ribs. Whoever was there was very dangerous. She could feel it.
