Chapter 168 - Before I Became A Fool

[Miss Anna takes a deep breath and continues to Lefah] "Hey, see, if I tell you guys, I mean, my words may sound very stupid, weird, bad, horrible feelings and a lot to compare. Come on, I don't want to destroy your good feelings tonight, boys."

[Lefah and Garriso continued immediately, looking confused about what Miss Anna was trying to say to them.] "What do you mean, Miss?"

"Hey, you know, the only option is to promise me that you guys won't get me wrong no matter what the story looks like...." [Miss Anna sighed after responding to Lefah and Garriso]

[Garriso continued immediately when Miss Anna finished talking] "Um, what do you mean again, Miss Anna?"

"Hmm, um, this is about Lucas and me, kids. I mean, the first day I met Lucas at the Eastern bus station..." [Miss Anna sighed and sounded worried]

[Lefah almost gets angry immediately when he hears about his irresponsible father's name, Lucas. However, Lefah couldn't believe why Miss Anna was smiling about the memories of her and his irresponsible father. Lefah wanted to walk away, but Garriso sighed and held Lefah back immediately when he stood up from the dinner table.]

"Hey, hey, hey, don't just walk away, bro. I think this is the right time to know about your dad. At least, a story between your good mother and your fucking dad. Come on, have your seat back, man..." [Garriso continued and held Lefah back, walking away]

[Lefah sighed and continued immediately when he sat down] "But I thought you stopped thinking about Lucas, ma'am. So, why are you?"

Garriso held Lefah's shoulder and said, "Hey, squash those words, bro. I think that could be different memories from their days ago. I mean, they were lovers once in the air, so they had a good time before the bad memories. Don't blame her, come on...."

"Hmm, okay, and I don't care about it, since Lucas also didn't care about those good memories. I mean, just to come back for his family all these years, bro. Hey, see, Lucas, he doesn't give a damn, trust me..." [Lefah continued and responded rudely to Garriso]

"Hey, don't sass at me, man. Uh, see, I think your dad always cares, and he won't just forget about it. Maybe you will understand it when you start going out with Sofia. I mean those good memories will be in your head forever...." [Garriso snickered immediately when he finished talking]

[Lefah sighed and didn't say a word to Garriso immediately when he finished talking.]

"Um, I think we should talk about this some other time...." [Miss Anna continued, and she wanted to walk away]

Garriso continued and held Miss Anna back and said, "No, no, no, Miss Anna. Come on, we still want to know about you and Mr. Lucas in the 90s...."

[Miss Anna sighed and smiled at Lefah] "Hey, what about you, son?"

"Okay, and that's alright. I also want to know about you and Lucas, ma'am...." [Lefah continued and responded to Miss Anna]

[Miss Anna took a deep breath and continued immediately when Lefah finished talking.] "Um, okay...."

[Miss Anna's voice continues] "The white man always says, "Only fools rush in." And you know, I will say. I was a fool. Like I never understood it till I realized I rushed in, and I became a fool. Somewhere in the 90s, I completed my university course when I was 21 years old with my best friend, Sophia, who was 24 years older than me. You know, Sophia finished some days before me and had her graduation and left me alone in the university hall. I remember my best friend never wanted to leave me, but her parents asked her to return home after her graduation ceremony with some other friends. She had no option but to leave me as her family wanted her home. Um, you know, the whole thing made me very worried alone, but I was OK because I also had a few days to my graduation."

"It was a bit difficult leaving my life without my best friend in the university library, classroom and more especially, in our room when it's time to sleep. I managed to live my life without Sophia even though it was difficult. Some days later, I also had my graduation ceremony and, you know, mom and dad didn't come to my university hall and drive me home after the graduation all because they had no car, unlike Sophia's parents. So, I had to find my way home from the university entrance. In the morning, I packed everything and went to the bus station. I had my ticket to return to Western City for all those years spent in university hall. It was very bad for me that day. Like I didn't have enough money to pay for another bus ticket from the Eastern City to Western City when I reached Rigby City. I wish I could have a lot of energy to walk by foot to Western City, but that was too long distance for my energy and those heavy bags with me at the bus station."

"Hmm, that was just 2 dollars on me when I checked it out. It was very complicated to convince any taxi driver to agree to my 2 dollars from Eastern City to Old Street. I became very unknown in my own city and stressed at the bus station. Moreover, I was still planning to get home with my bags. Going up and down trying to convince 1000 drivers to agree to my 2 dollars but none of them. Uh, I was to say that day was the most horrifying experience of my life, but everything changed immediately when that gangster appeared to me.]

[Car stops.] [Horns honking "car sounds"]

[Miss Anna's voice continues] "Hmm, even though I needed a ride home. Yet, I didn't mind him about how he was using his car horns honking, calling me as if I was a night lady. He drove back to me, smiled at me and said, "Eh, yo, what's up, Miss Hot Pretty?" Uh, like I couldn't believe I was the one he was calling me such a foolhardy name and asking about me."
