The halls in the castle were quite spacious. I admired them as Mei and I were escorted to our chambers. I had gotten pretty tired, so Svetlana and Hiromi had returned to my kardia-gram.
"Seems like the bossman likes ya more 'n I thought, Kay," said Serena.
She, of course, was the one showing us the way to our chambers.
"Why would you say so?" I replied.
"I dunno, jus' felt that way. The bossman's usually a lot colder when he speaks to most people. Maybe that's got somethin' to do with it."
After that, with her hands still interlaced behind her head, she strode forward, playfully raising her legs high as she did. She took each step as if she wanted any onlooker to notice her eccentric marching.
As we walked, our steps echoing in the hall, a figure came into view. She had the petite body of a girl, but she wore a voluminous cloak that bled from fiery crimson at the hood down into twilight blue at the hem. Her arms were wrapped in bandages, leaving only her hands free.
