"Professor G, how come you don't give house points?"
At the end of his third year class, a Slytherin Boy asked Felix. While closing his book, Felix looked up at him before answering.
"I find the point system pointless." Felix answered.
The house points truly were kind of pointless in his opinion. You may earn points while others will get them taken away. Then after a year, unless many cause trouble, you get a night of your house banner filling the Great Hall. So a year of work, just for a night you probably could see in your dreams more often than reality, it just felt kind of pointless to him.
"Oh." The boy said disinterested.
"Well, have this piece of candy for winning last week's homework assignment award." Felix tossed him a candy.
The boy's attitude quickly changed from disinterest into a happy smile. Which is also why instead of giving or taking points, he gives out pieces of candy. It is more rewarding that way for the students.

After the last student left through the door, Felix returned to his office where he began to work once more on his magic research. He began to think through the issues he came across and began to expand the scope outside the main elements. However, as he peeked into the paths, he began to write he found another magus system that might be better.
So quickly writing a few notes and the basics of it. Felix closed his eyes as his body ached from looking at the Paths for so long. Leaning back in his chair, he held his pen to his chin as he looked at the ceiling deep in thought. While dimming the crystal light that after many years of being sold in his shop replaced most torched lit places.
"The process of advancing along these paths is to expand one knowledge of magic and longevity." Felix said to himself. "Knowledge is a type of power."
Tapping his chin, he reviewed what he just wrote and frowned. It reminded him of a darker themed magic fantasy he read before. A man who became a Warlock and relied on an AI chip to research, discover and advance step by step.
His latest idea while fine actually might fit this world better. So as he began to reorganize his idea and notes from the previous test, Felix found it fit much better. Hence instead of fully matured wizards achieving Rank 1 of Panlong Magus System, instead they reach Acolyte Rank 3 of Warlock of the Magus World.
Rubbing his forehead, Felix let out a sigh as he began to think how to proceed with this. Lightly humming to himself, he suddenly thought and began to organize a bit more and fell silent at the meditation techniques.
Among the various paths from the system he has seen such things, but never really paid much attention to them. In truth he didn't need them at the time, but now it seems he will need to study them more closely.
While he dove into his ideas and his pen flying across the pages of his journal. Time slipped away from Felix and before he knew it, his office door was open and Angel walked in. In her hands she was carrying a plate of food and gently placed it on the desk for him.
Peeking at the pages that he was writing, Angel could only scratch her head. Felix seemed to have either found something interesting or had a burst of inspiration since his writing was all over the place. Clearly it made sense to him, but to her it didn't.
After a short while, Felix placed down his pen satisfied. On the page before him, while no meditation technique laid a spell model for a rank 0 spell. It was a fairly simple spell called Mage Hand.
"Time to eat."
Felix nearly jumped up from his chair upon hearing Angel's voice behind him.
"Oh, is it that time already?" Felix calmed his racing heart.
"It's past time, actually." Angel answered. "So what have you researched this time?"
Passing her the journal. Angel flipped to the beginning and began to read about his latest idea. After reading for a while she was silent with narrowed brows as she looked up at him.
"You do realize if you publish this, it will just add fuel to Pureblood Blood Supremacy Theory." Angel said. "Well, those that pick the Warlock route at least."
"How many would choose that route though. Besides, it's not like there are no examples in history of others attempting it." Felix answered. "Even if I do publish it, how many will actually try it? Most in the magical community aren't exactly the ambitious or daring type after all."
"You're going to do it anyway even if I disagree." Angel sighed. "Alright, but only publish up to the third rank. The rest will be placed on the floating island you have being built. I do believe your plan for that island is to create a school or library right? Just place the rest of the information there for the rest of the ranks."
Felix rolled the idea around in his head and just softly nodded. He felt if he tried to do more, Angel would fight him and allow him to publish even less. So, he decided to just roll with it, and even if he did publish only up to the third rank, it would be many years before many reached that stage of needing the next rank.
"I feel like I will get a new title after I figure out the mechanics of this." Felix sighed.
