"Why will she do that?" Zeeb asked. He was the only one clearly expressing what they all felt.
Ralph stirred at the bringer of the news, expecting to hear more, but Zephyr shrugged his shoulders the way he had done when his mum had asked him the same thing.
"I don't know why," he said.
"And you don't want to ask because you're too proud to do so," Ralph concluded.
"Maybe," Zephyr answered within the beat of a heart.
They were walking back after the tests today and he had filled them in on Selene's request to free Dorianna.
"How did she even know about that?" Zeeb asked, too surprised.
"She has Blaize, there's no need to ask that question," Zephyr said. "Now, she has made me know how much her mother's identity means to her."
"But she did not ask you about it," Zeeb pointed out. "Wouldn't she have done that if it was really important?"
