"You must not mislead me, Jareth," Chief Logan said, his eyes bluntly digging into Jareth's.
Jareth rolled his eyes and blew a raspberry with his lips, which further annoyed the Chief.
Logan sat upright in his seat, intensely staring at Jareth with eyes that made it clear he was not joking.
"This is not a joke!" he said angrily.
"I'm not lying! My man saw it himself and I believe him! There's a way in and out of the veil," Jareth said, sitting up right as well. "He told me himself—it's cut open with a special kind of knife or something. I am being honest."
There was a moment of silence, and then Logan relaxed backward, feeling satisfied with Jareth's reaction.
"We will be leaving for the Solstice soon, and I have to be sure that we are ready for this takeover! I'm talking about a seizure of power, an invasion!" Chief Logan's eyes were gleaming with so much intention that Jareth could literally feel the excitement in his own veins.
