"This is all my fault, Alpha Ralph!" Pen sobbed, staggering toward the group. "I was the one who got bitten by the snake."
Zeeb rolled his eyes dramatically. "It's a good thing you ran crying to Ralph and not me," he muttered under his breath.
"There's no use pointing fingers now, Pen," Ralph said. "You didn't ask to be bitten, and you didn't ask for Selene to save you."
"Did you hear that, Dracko?" Griss called, folding his arms and glaring at Dracko, who was already crafting a retort.
"You didn't seem eager to use your mouth when the Alpha was here," Dracko mocked. "All you were ready to do was pee all over the place like a one-year-old cub." The group echoed his laughter. "And I didn't say it was our fault. I said Alpha Zephyr will still hold us responsible."
"Yeah, he's right about that," Zeeb said, clicking his tongue in agreement. "You all better hope nothing happens to Selene. If it does, rest assured Zephyr will have your heads."
