Third person POV
Meanwhile, back in Zemelja, Kamal and Terzo were still upset that his potentially lucrative trade partnership with Ruslav had gone to waste and put the blame on Romana for screwing it up. Romana, whose reputation was now on the line, tried to explain that she didn't know that it was Basilio whom she had confronted a week ago and should've reported it to him. But Terzo thinks she was doing a terrible job and keeps blaming her for the partnership going south.
However, Romana had enough and blamed him for the societal rules of rigid class divisions, especially on how poor healers like Tej were restricted from obtaining licenses just because they were low and poor.
This pisses Terzo and his advisors and guards, for a noble insulting their highness is so rare and unheard of.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" Terzo snapped at Romana.
"It's your fault for imposing such rules on the commoners," Romana replied back with a snap of a change in her tone.
Because of that, Terzo threatened to fire her from her job and even tell her older brother, Kamal's SS-ranked hero Theodore Alma, what she had done to the country. But Romana responded strongly, "That's it! I quit! I'm out of this pathetic country!"
"What?!" Terzo furiously replied while slamming his left fist on his desk.
Then, Romana proved her protest by taking off her city guard cap and slamming it on the floor of the office.
Because of that, Terzo not only terminated her employment but also gave her 2 days to pack up her things and leave the capital city and planned to tell her older brother what she had done.
Despite that, Romana remained unfazed and surrendered her equipment, city guard's attire, and weapons to him and stormed off. Now in her noble home on the outskirts of Zemelja, Romana packed up her things, got some and withdrew some money from her family's treasury room for compensation to Tej, and left the city at 9 o'clock by ferry to the mainland. Her destination is Cabaña Del Kurtidor, Electorate of Knox-Merx, Pantano, and she planned to move to the mainland and settle down there.
Romana arrived in the port of Cabaña Del Kurtidor, Electorate of Knox-Merx at 3:10 p.m. after over 6 hours of ferry voyage. Seeing that, she grabbed her belongings and got off the ferry once she and all the passengers aboard were allowed to do so. Where will she go now? Well, Romana wanted to go to Ruslav's capital, Nuevo Tacloban, to settle there and be a soldier for Ruslav like Chivo, as well as give the compensation to Tej. So, with these objectives in mind, she went to ask where Ruslav is and how to get there around town. Luckily, someone in the marketplace of Cabaña Del Kurtidor said to her, "Ruslav's northeast from here, and you can take a bus from here to there. Nuevo Tacloban, Ruslav's capital, is a good place to start."
"Oh…" Romana gets it now, "…okay, thanks, where can I ride that vehicle?"
Pointing at a place full of magic-fueled buses, the seller of fruits and vegetable said, "There, you can ask for a ride, but you have to pay for a ticket for yourself."
Seeing that, Romana replied, "Thanks, sir."
As Romana went to that bus terminal, the seller bid her farewell and a safe trip. After that, Romana arrived at that small bus terminal and gazed at the present fleet of buses at this time, both ordinary and with air conditioning. Some of them are now going on their last routes for the night. Luckily for her, there was one bound for Nuevo Tacloban via Fresa de Ard to leave 10 minutes from now. So, snatching that opportunity, she went up to the bus terminal's stands that were established to sell tickets for a ticket to Nuevo Tacloban.
"Oh, one ticket to Nuevo Tacloban?" the cashier asked.
"Yes, one, please," replied Romana, before getting some coins from her little purse, "how much?"
"That'll be 4 Presas, please."
Romana paid up from the handful of Presas she had on hand.
Receiving it, the cashier gave her a paper ticket for that bus route to Nuevo Tacloban.
"Thanks," Romana responded while receiving her ticket.
"Yes, it'll leave at 4:00 p.m."
"Oh, okay then."
Romana then proceeded to the terminal's small waiting area to wait for the boarding call to be announced. To pass the time, she looked at her application to be Ruslav's soldier, thinking about whether Basilio would accept it or not. And then, boarding came, and Romana and the other passengers who were bound for that route stood, grabbed whatever they had brought with them, and went to board that airconditioned bus. Seating was up to them, and Romana chose one next to a window, which can be covered with a pair of blue and red soft curtains. And so, by 4 o'clock sharp, the bus left the terminal and went on its way northward to its first stopover in its route.
Along the way, as the afternoon progressed to deep sunset, Romana gazed at the fields of Pantano's Zakhith Region, which was primarily known for its green fields, lush pine forests, and a perfect place to witness a sunset on its picturesque western side. She was reflecting on her past character and how she treated others, especially Tej and his maternal cousin, a local doctor named Nathan. Now, she regretted her ill-mannered treatment of them and vowed to be a better person now. Furthermore, she also acknowledged Tej's efforts in learning medicine and the art of healing by learning them himself and even planned to petition Kamal to issue a license for him.
After that long self-reflection, Romana thought about her older brother. His name was Theodore, and he was a hero of SS rank. He also had a party of his own, which was Tej's former party. Looking back at Theodore's character, Romana felt disgusted and disappointed with him. "Man, what I was thinking about my older brother…" she thought to herself while regretting her admiration for Theodore's superiority-inducing character.
