Eli was a devious little shit. He had lured thousands of people to this place, and he didn't even bother trying to hide his intentions. He had outright admitted to Ethan that he intended to use them as cannon fodder, and judging by how pleased he was with himself, he didn't see anything wrong with that.
Ethan, however, couldn't bring himself to care much. Most tomb raiders were hardly innocent people. Grave robbing, banditry, murder, and every other kind of dirty business were practically second nature to them. If they were foolish enough to throw themselves into danger for the sake of treasure, he wasn't about to lose sleep over it.
"Let's go open the entrance before these bastards lose their patience."
Ethan wasn't an expert in tomb exploration, so he decided to leave the work to Eli rather than pretend he knew what he was doing. The boy might have been a shameless little schemer, but at least he seemed to know his way around an ancient tomb.
