Ethan suggested that his grandfather might have already explored the place. Eli's hands abruptly stopped moving.
"If that's the case, I don't even want to go in."
Ethan tilted his head. "Why not?"
Eli gave a bitter smile and resumed feeling along the stone wall. "If Master has already been here, then the place has probably been picked clean. What's the point of going in?"
Judging by his tone, he had already dismissed Ethan's suggestion as a possibility worth considering. His fingers continued tracing the wall until he found what he was looking for. He pulled out several runes and carefully fitted them into the stone, arranging them in a particular pattern.
BZZZT!
The circular runes lit up, and a ripple spread across the center of the wall. Ethan frowned as he studied the opening. Something about its shape looked... wrinkled.
"This..."
His frown deepened, but Eli's face lit up with excitement.
"It's open! Let's go!"
