Ben faced the Magus as a surge of mana burst from the man in a cone of light.

The head of the pickaxe slammed into the Magus's shoulder.
It tore through the lightning armor like wet paper.
The impact threw the Magus backward and dragged his body across the ground, carving a ragged trench through the stone.
