The Magus roared and clutched his head.
Veins bulged along his neck and forehead as his scream echoed through the chamber like a broken soul stuck between realms.
"No!
I'm… losing control!"
His body twisted.
The appendage on his back cracked and shifted.
His face distorted and stretched, as if something buried deep inside was trying to claw its way out.
Ben narrowed his eyes.
Every instinct in him screamed danger.
Then something clicked in his mind. "Aether… Daemon… that form… they implanted a piece of a Daemon inside themselves to control Aether?" he thought.
His blood ran cold for a moment, but only for a moment.
The idea felt right to him.
It made sense.
But this realization only hardened his resolve.
Daemons were enemies he would have to face in the end.
If he could not defeat even a small part of them, then there was no hope for his future.
And more than that, he wanted information.
The Magus screamed again.
His body spasmed and jerked, but Ben did not flinch.
