Chapter 3: A Time with cutie
"Just give me a minute, darling," Lexy said with a smile before stepping a little farther away from Alena.
He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
"Bro, please come right away, okay?"
He ended the call and immediately dialed another number.
"Hello? Yes, I'm booking the whole restaurant. We'll be there soon, so please get everything ready."
There was a brief pause as he listened to the person on the other end.
"Okay, sir. We're working on it now."
"Good. Thanks."
Lexy ended the call and slipped his phone back into his pocket before walking toward Alena.
She had been waiting patiently, looking around at the beautiful surroundings.
"Hey, dear," he said as he approached. "My driver is on the way."
Alena looked at him.
Dear.
She was beginning to notice how casually he used words like darling and dear. To Lexy, they seemed completely normal.
But to her?
They were enough to make her cheeks warm.
"Okay," she replied, trying to keep her voice steady.
Lexy noticed the slight blush on her face but said nothing.
Instead, he smiled.
They continued talking and laughing while waiting.
Then, suddenly, the sound of a powerful engine interrupted their conversation.
A sleek red sports car pulled up in front of them.
Alena's mouth fell open.
"Is... is this your car, Lexy?"
Lexy glanced at the car, then back at her.
"Yeah."
He leaned slightly closer, a teasing smile appearing on his face.
"You like it?"
"Like it?"
Alena stared at the car again.
"No way!"
She pointed at it excitedly.
"I—L-O-V-E it!"
Lexy burst out laughing.
"I knew you'd like it."
He walked toward the car and opened the passenger door.
"Then let's get in, my lady."
He extended his hand toward her.
Alena hesitated for a second before placing her hand in his.
"Thank you," she said softly.
Lexy gave her a small smile before helping her into the car.
He then turned toward the driver.
"Thanks, bro, but you can head back now. I want it to be just me and her today."
The driver raised an eyebrow.
"Seriously?"
"Seriously."
His friend sighed.
"Okay, bro. But this wasn't funny at all."
Lexy laughed and tapped his shoulder.
"Thanks, bro. You're truly a friend."
"Yeah, yeah. I know."
The driver shook his head before walking away.
Lexy got into the driver's seat.
"Ready?"
Alena buckled her seat belt.
"Ready."
The engine roared to life, and within moments, they were on their way.
---
The drive around campus was surprisingly peaceful.
Alena couldn't stop looking through the window, taking in every new building and pathway.
Everything still felt unfamiliar, but having someone beside her made the huge university seem a little less intimidating.
After several minutes, Lexy slowed down.
"Here we are."
Alena looked ahead.
A massive building stood before them.
She immediately opened the door and stepped out.
"Wow..."
She looked up at the building.
"It's huge."
Lexy got out of the car and stood beside her.
"This is the library building. It's one of the main places you'll probably be spending your time."
Alena turned toward him.
"But you haven't shown me where our classes will be held."
She laughed lightly.
"I don't want to get lost on my first day and start looking frustrated."
Lexy chuckled.
"True. That's very important."
He paused.
"Come on. Let's check out the inside first."
He led her toward the entrance.
The moment Alena stepped inside, her eyes widened.
"Oh, Lexy..."
She slowly looked around.
"It's beautiful."
She walked farther into the library, taking everything in.
"I think I've found my second home."
Lexy laughed.
"Your second home?"
"Yes!"
Alena pointed around excitedly.
"Look at this place!"
The library was enormous.
Rows upon rows of shelves filled the room, each one carefully labeled according to different courses and subjects. Classic wooden tables and chairs were arranged neatly throughout the spacious hall.
Everything was quiet and organized.
Alena's eyes moved from one shelf to another.
Then something caught her attention.
She froze.
"Wait..."
She quickly walked toward one of the shelves.
Lexy followed behind her.
"What is it?"
Alena scanned the shelves.
Then suddenly—
"Found it!"
Lexy looked at her.
"What?"
She turned around dramatically and pointed toward the shelf.
"Novels!"
Her eyes sparkled.
"I've found my hobby!"
Lexy laughed.
"Your hobby?"
"My world of novels."
She paused and shook her head.
"No..."
She thought for a moment.
"The world of novels! That's better."
She raised her shoulders proudly.
Lexy couldn't hold back his laughter.
"You're actually childish."
Alena gasped.
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me."
She folded her arms, pretending to be offended.
"Well, at least I'm enjoying myself."
"I can see that."
They both laughed.
For the first time since arriving at the university, Alena felt completely comfortable.
She didn't feel like the new girl anymore.
She was simply Alena—laughing, exploring, and enjoying the moment.
And Lexy seemed to enjoy seeing that side of her.
---
After spending some more time exploring the library, Lexy checked his phone.
"It's getting late."
Alena glanced at the time.
"Oh, you're right."
"We should get going."
They walked back toward the car together.
Once they were settled inside, Alena turned toward him.
"So..."
Lexy looked at her.
"So..."
She laughed.
"You're copying me."
"Maybe."
She shook her head.
"So where are we going now?"
Lexy started the engine.
"I've got plans for our last bit of fun today."
Alena raised an eyebrow.
"Plans?"
"Yep."
"Where?"
He smiled mysteriously.
"You'll see."
She stared at him for a moment.
"Lexy..."
"Hmm?"
"I want to see where our classes will be held."
He nodded.
"Of course. That's important too."
Alena relaxed against her seat.
Deep down, though, she was curious about what he had planned.
There was something about Lexy that made every moment feel unpredictable.
One minute, they were strangers.
The next, she was sitting in his sports car, exploring the university with him.
She looked out the window, trying to hide the smile forming on her lips.
What exactly does he have planned?
Lexy glanced at her and smiled.
"Hold tight, baby."
Alena's eyes widened.
"Baby?"
Before she could question him, Lexy laughed.
"We'll be there sooner than you imagine."
He stepped on the accelerator.
The car sped down the road, leaving Alena gripping her seat as she laughed.
And whatever Lexy had planned next...
She had a feeling she wasn't going to forget it anytime soon.
