Michael is driving along the road on his bike with the monstrous motorhome following behind him.
A short while later, they arrived at the warehouse. In the parking lot, there were a few large things gathered together and were left there sitting on one side of the lot.
"Are those the water wheels you were telling us earlier?" Andrea asked while going down the steps, and behind her were Lee and Clementine while Rosita got down from the driver's side.
"Yep and a lot more things. It seems whoever gathered these items were preparing to build a hydro electric system." When Michael first laid his eyes on the water wheel, he was only slightly surprised. But when he realized that the items near the water wheel were meant for building a hydro electric system, it threw him off since.
"If I didn't know any better, I would have thought they were preparing for the end of the world." Lee couldn't help but add his thoughts while looking at the items surrounding the water wheels.
"That's what I thought at first too since there were two sets of these, but then I thought, even those high up in the government didn't see this coming. So how would civilians even know, right?" Michael responded to Lee's words, but deep inside, he feels that it might also be the opposite.
"Even if they knew, they're dead now." Clementine looked dejected saying those words. The others looked at each other since they weren't expecting those words to come out from such a young child.
"Anyway, I've already loaded most things in that truck." Michael pointed at a nearby 10 ton cargo truck. "And now that you've already seen these things, I'm gonna load them up now."
Michael was about to carry one of the wheels by himself when Lee offered. "Let me help."
While the two men loaded up the water wheels, generators and some other things inside the cargo truck. Rosita and Andrea brought Clementine with them and started walking around the property.
"He..killed all of these?" Clementine had first noticed the slain walkers when they first arrived, but had kept her curiosity to herself till now.
Andrea smiled, looking proud while looking at the little girl beside her. "Yeah, that guy is really strong. You already witnessed how he was able to hold his own against that mutated walker yesterday."
Looking up to her, Clementine said something that made the two women chuckle.
"Is he a superhero?" That's what immediately crossed her mind since she had never seen or witnessed anyone capable of doing something like this, except probably a superhero.
Andrea chuckled while Rosita snickered.
Amused, Andrea rubbed her head. Since she also does not have a clue what makes Michael, Michael. She could only give a vague answer like how the previous curious once liked her.
"He's..just incredibly strong compared to us. We also don't have any idea why he's so strong." She then leaned slightly towards her and whispered. "He's..he's a mystery, and that's what makes him interesting, right?"
Clementine nodded with understanding, then she looked up to her and with all seriousness. "Yeah, I think I'm going to find how to be like him. I want to be strong too so I can help Lee when I grow up."
Over to the men's side, Lee was loading the last generator onto the truck before closing doors behind him.
"Three generators, this is a good haul. Especially that trailer mounted generator you got. " Lee dusted his hands while walking over to Michael. He was looking at the diesel generator mounted behind the motorhome.
The white diesel generator, sitting on its own trailer, was found in one of the small warehouses when Michael was sweeping the property. It was over a meter long with a capacity of 50KW, enough to power the necessary equipment back at the prison.
Michael just smiled slightly. "It was a good find. Though I'm not sure if it's a good idea to take it with us during the long journey back home."
From here, the road back home is only a couple of hours short if the world is still normal. He knows that the journey would at least double this time since there will certainly be troubles along the way, and hesitated on bringing the diesel generator with them.
'Maybe we should just leave it behind? It's not like it's the only generator around. I'm sure I can find one better than this one if we enter Atlanta City once we're home.'
"Except slowing you down, I think it's not a bad idea. It's already here so might as well take it back with you. If it's a plus, they don't always come in their own trailers." Lee on the other hand was more optimistic. He already witnessed how capable this group is so he doesn't think it would be that hard for them to look after it.
"Hmmm…I guess it's coming with us then." Michael was convinced on the latter part of his words. He figured that every major business would indeed at least have one generator lying around like this one, maybe even better, but not every generator would be mounted on a trailer. Which is already a major inconvenience in transporting it.
"Anyway, enough about our stuff and more about you." Michael stared at him for a moment before he continued. "We'll be leaving soon. Have you thought about Andrea's proposal on the way here?"
Lee sighed. "I did. I know coming with you guys is the best option we got right now, especially concerning the future of Clementine."
Michael slightly frowned. "Then what are you being indecisive for? You already said it's the best for you two."
"I can't abandon the others, man. Those people had been with us since the start of this shit. I can't just leave them behind, they're still waiting for us to return." Lee sounds reluctant and full of regret while saying those words, but still looked determined by his decision.
Michael stares at him for a moment before letting out a chuckle. "That's it? That's what you're worried about? You could've said so in the beginning. Just go get them. Leave Clementine in our care for now while you go get the others with you. We'll still be here till 2 PM."
Lee's expression brightened up with those words from Michael. "Really? But can I actually trust that you wouldn't do anything bad to Clementine while I'm away?"
Michael glared at him, especially offended from the suggestive look from Lee. "Do I look like an animal to you? I'm not that kind of person. If we wanted to do something bad, you wouldn't be alive talking to me today. Stop wasting our time and just go, will you?"
Lee smiled a little since he got embarrassed from that. "Sorry about that. We've been through a lot and it's hard to trust people these days."
"Hahaha…" Michael chuckled and said something that made Lee's face beet red.
"Says the guy who's been eating a lot from our supplies."
Lee didn't say anything following those words from him and just scratched the back of his head. "I..I'll just go. I just need to say goodbye to Clementine first."
"Alright, you only have until 2 PM. We'll leave if you're still not here after that."
He nodded and hurriedly ran towards the others. Michael watched him go while shaking his head.
'A lot of people would certainly be surprised when this guy turns up in camp.' Michael thought with a mischievous smirk on his face.
He watched Lee saying something to Clementine, who immediately started crying moments later and the former had to hastily explain things to her so she wouldn't misunderstand his departure.
Not long after, Lee was finally done calming Clementine and was ready to go.
"Did you sort it out with her?" Michael asked the moment Lee walked back to him.
Lee nodded. "Yeah, she;s calmed down. Though she's still scared at the thought of getting separated from me."
Michael nodded in understanding and threw a pair of keys to him. "You can take that small cargo truck over there. It still works and has a lot of gas in it. Enough for the entire journey."
Michael pointed at something way behind him using his thumb. When Lee looked over his shoulder, he saw a medium size red truck with an open back parked near the walls.
"Thank you."
"Yeah, be careful out there." Michael handed him one of his handguns and an extra magazine, surprising Lee. He did not say anything and just gave him a grateful nod.
"Make the bullet count!"
While hastily making his way over to the truck, Lee heard Michael yelling behind him.
It made him smile.
