The black pulse under Zara's wrist flashed once.
At the same time, the same dark light flickered beneath the blood-stained fur around Kian's mouth.
Isabella's body went cold.
She had just given birth. Her body was still weak. Her head was still heavy. Her lower body still ached. She should have been inside with her newborn babies, wrapped in warm furs, eating hot soup, and letting everyone else deal with the mess outside.
But the moment she saw that pulse, she knew.
Zara had not only escaped.
Zara had touched Kian.
Zara had done something to him.
The thought made Isabella's fingers tighten around the fur covering her shoulders.
"Hold her," Isabella said.
Her voice was not loud, but everyone near her heard it.
Osiris turned at once. "Her?"
Isabella's eyes did not move from Zara's half-limp body. "Zara. Hold her down before she opens her eyes and does something disgusting again."
