Isabella opened her mouth.
Cyrus's eyes sharpened. "This is not something I will give in on."
She was still angry.
Very angry.
But her body was also weak enough that she knew he was right.
So she looked away and said tightly, "Fine."
Cyrus turned to the two experienced women who had come back in after the first rush had settled. "Watch the babies."
Ophelia immediately stepped forward. "I'll stay too."
Shelia nodded. "I'll stay with them."
Valen stood near Ophelia without needing to be asked. "No one will come near the room."
Isabella looked at them.
The anger inside her did not disappear, but the sight of Ophelia already moving closer to the babies, Shelia checking the furs around them, and Valen taking position near the door softened something in her chest.
"Thank you," she said quietly.
Ophelia shook her head quickly. "Go. We will watch them."
Glimora rose too.
Isabella looked at her. "Stay with the babies."
Glimora froze.
Her ears lowered.
