Normally, traveling from the Land of Fire to the Land of Hot Water would take even a ninja over seven hours to bypass a massive swamp. However, taking the Tenchi Bridge would cut that time down to under two hours.
If the Demon Clan were to destroy the bridge, the communication and supply lines between Konoha and the northern stronghold would be severely compromised.
Further away, the North Continent and the former Kumogakure would fall into complete isolation without any support.
Unlike the Land of Waves, this place had to be held at all costs.
The densely packed square formation of the White Zetsu army was completely unable to withstand the brute-force charge of Yakon's descendant.
Though the creature looked emaciated, its actual charging momentum was devastating.
Seizing the tactical opportunity, the Demon Clan commander immediately blew his horn upon seeing the giant beast tear open a gap in the defensive line.
Hundreds of leather-armored Demon Clan soldiers, riding giant wolves and brandishing an assortment of greatswords and massive axes, violently smashed their way in through a wedge formation.
Once the giant wolves entered their full charge, it became a one-sided slaughter against the White Zetsu, who were entirely sluggish infantry devoid of any protective gear.
These rapidly matured White Zetsus were ultimately inferior to the original versions. With defective intelligence, they only knew how to foolishly throw themselves at the Demon Clan's cavalry charge.
The Demon Clan general tugged at his reins, also noticing the mental deficiency of these white enemies. With a sharp whistle, he clamped his legs around his wolf's belly, swung his great axe, and carved a bloody path in another direction.
Over five hundred Demon Clan cavalrymen darted left and right through the White Zetsu army. Not only did they shred the White Zetsu's formation—creating a favorable tactical opening for the trailing infantry battalions—but they also dealt a severe blow to the ninjas' morale.
They couldn't just let them charge unchecked; these cavalrymen had to be eliminated. Acting as the commander, Asuma shouted, "Naruto!"
"I'm on it! Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
In the blink of an eye, two thousand Narutos charged forward, hollering at the top of their lungs.
Some grabbed heads, others tackled legs, and a few shadow clones even poked the giant wolves right in the eyes. One after another, the Demon Clan cavalrymen were sent tumbling to the ground.
The Demon Clan general, however, proved incredibly valiant. Not only was his skin covered in tough scales, but he also wore a suit of battle armor considered quite precious by the Demon Realm's standards. Naruto's shadow clones were absolutely no match for the guy. As he swung his massive axe, he practically obliterated one clone with every strike.
"Big Ball Rasengan!"
The washbasin-sized sphere shattered the Demon Clan general's armor, but in doing so, it completely depleted its kinetic energy. Naruto stared in stunned disbelief as the massive axe cleaved straight down toward his head. All of his shadow clones had been wiped out; the one standing there now was his actual true body.
"Idiot! You haven't grown at all over all these years!"
At the critical moment, Sasuke utilized his Rinnegan ability, Amenotejikara, instantly swapping places to appear right in front of him. Manifesting his Susanoo, he blocked the Demon Clan general's fatal chop.
Naruto was happier to see Sasuke than he would have been to see his own father. With one drawing upon the Nine-Tails and the other wielding the Susanoo, the duo combined their powers to form the "Majestic Attire: Susanoo." A single sword strike obliterated the Demon Clan general, and a second slash sent over a dozen Demon Clan cavalrymen flying.
On the other side of the battlefield, Yakon's descendant had absolutely no intention of coordinating with the Demon Clan soldiers trailing behind it. With only the thought of devouring flesh and blood occupying its mind, it continued to plow relentlessly toward the opposite lines.
Mid-charge, it casually snatched up a White Zetsu and brought the creature to its mouth. With a sickening crunch, it swallowed half of the White Zetsu. After chewing twice, it found the taste a bit strange and promptly spat it back out.
It wasn't that the White Zetsu was inedible—the beast could literally eat rocks. It simply perceived the ninjas across the battlefield as tasting much better.
"Attack!" Asuma roared.
A torrential downpour of ninjutsu hailed down upon Yakon's descendant, including a myriad of high-level techniques.
Though the giant beast appeared gaunt, its skin possessed incredibly high resilience. Fireballs slamming into its body left nothing but slight scorch marks. Wind blades couldn't even pierce its outermost dermal layer, and water arrows were entirely inconsequential.
Enduring the dense barrage of attacks, it furiously pushed its assault forward.
"Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags!"
Taking to the field personally, Asuma slipped past Yakon's descendant in a flash, slapping an explosive tag onto its back in the brief moment their paths crossed. Forming a one-handed seal, a consecutive chain of explosions completely engulfed the massive beast.
He cautiously retreated, observing for a brief moment. Suddenly, a forelimb wielding a bone blade thrust out from the smoke. Tapping his toes violently against the ground, Asuma launched himself backward. Both his mental and physical reaction speeds were at their absolute peak, yet his Jonin vest was still slashed diagonally with a deep gash—missing completely disemboweling him by a mere centimeter or two.
Yakon's descendant emerged from the smoke. Not only was it completely unharmed, but it arrogantly patted its belly, seemingly finding the explosive tags from just now quite delicious.
That was two years of my salary! Asuma was fuming.
The enemy hadn't sustained a single scratch. Did it eat all the explosive energy from the tags? Just what kind of monster was this?
"Mr. Asuma, allow me to deal with this thing."
Konan descended from the sky. With her delicate features and attire that seemed somewhat revealing to the ninjas, in that dazed moment, she truly looked like an Angel.
She shot out a piece of paper formula. Opening its massive maw, Yakon's descendant swallowed it whole. The subsequent explosion occurred entirely within its oral cavity, sounding rather muffled.
"Tasty... tas-ty... more! Eat!" Yakon's descendant stared at the gathered ninjas, an insatiably greedy gleam in its eyes.
Having traveled far and wide over the years, Konan was vastly experienced. She immediately thought of a way to deal with this creature.
"You still want to eat? Then I'll let you eat your fill!"
Raising both arms, countless explosive tags materialized out of thin air, shooting toward the giant beast in a dense, overwhelming swarm.
Overjoyed, Yakon's descendant stood its ground, unhinging its jaw to madly devour the explosive tags.
"Paper Person of God Technique!" Konan called out softly.
A tidal wave of explosive tags surged forward. The giant beast kept its mouth wide open, frantically inhaling them. Initially, its face was the picture of pure intoxication, but as it continued to gorge, it suddenly realized something was wrong. However, it was already too late.
A staggering 100 billion explosive tags detonated inside Yakon's descendant. The energy that erupted in that split second far exceeded the absolute limit its body could absorb. The greenish monster was blown to smithereens on the spot.
The combined efforts of Naruto and Sasuke also succeeded in repelling the remaining Demon Clan elites.
The battle at Tenchi Bridge concluded with a complete victory for the ninja villagers.
Konan transferred across various battlefields, blasting more than six of Yakon's descendants to death. These creatures possessed such abysmal intelligence that they fell for the exact same trick six times in a row, never once learning their lesson.
...
The Demon Clan had cultivated quite a few native collaborators across the multiverses, and the Otsutsuki God was one of them. Following the Demon Clan's repeated failed offensives against the Blue Planet, he was dispatched to sow chaos from within.
Konoha Village.
Upon learning that she too would be one of the enemy's targets, Himawari had been strictly forbidden from running around by Hinata for the past few days. All she could do was obediently stay at home.
Kale clenched her little fists, silently swearing an oath to herself: the moment an enemy appeared, no matter what kind of foe they were, she would absolutely punch them to death! She would never allow anyone to hurt her big sister or her family.
"Little girl, are you afraid of your family getting hurt? Why not take care of them yourself? Once they're all dead, you'll never have to feel the pain of seeing them hurt again. Don't you think my method is wonderful?"
In the dead of night, a voice resembling a delirious whisper echoed softly in Kale's ears.
